Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL… I have self-control in spades. Except when it comes to her. With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and … knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch.
But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count.
She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong.
She’s also my new roommate–
And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister.
Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore.
I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.

Left with literally nothing, Tessa needs to start over after a disastrous end to her engagement and there is no better way to pick up the pieces than to go and stay with her older brother. The only problem is the feelings she has always had toward his BFF Jason. But when Jason offers his extra bedroom to Tessa will this make or break her hopes and dreams? With adorable characters and a feeling of hope this was a great read.
4.5 Star review Hooked on Her (Ice Kings #3) by Stacey Lynn
Stacey Lynn is a relatively new author to me. I quickly became invested in the story that Ms.Lynn wove and cannot wait to read more in this series. This is Tessa Chauncy and Jason Taylor’s story and it was an entertaining read that ticked the boxes for me.
Having been badly burnt and left with virtually nothing by her ex, Tessa turns to her brother Sawyer for help. Jason has been attracted to his best friend Sawyer’s sister for sometime but she has no clue and ironically Tessa has always had a crush on Jason.
I loved the chemistry that sizzled between Tessa and Jason and that their attraction morphs from friendship into a relationship. I could easily see myself being friends with Tessa and Jason was totally swoon worthy. I also liked that Jason was prepared to push Tessa out of her comfort zone and was there for her and supportive.
Will Jason be able to convince Tessa to take a chance on him? One click and find out.
A great read from a new to me author. If you’re looking for a sexy hockey player and a brother’s best friend storyline, this one is for you.
Hooked on Her is both a sports romance and a brother’s best friend’s romance, which just so happens to be two of my absolute favorites so I really enjoyed this one, start to finish.
Tessa has had a rough go of things lately as she recently ended her engagement and if that wasn’t bad enough, her fiance stole literally everything from their apartment on his way out, as well as all of her money.
Tessa goes to see her brother, a player for the Ice Kings, and while visiting she is forced to see her long-time crush, Jason, who is her brother’s best friend and another player on the team. Low and behold, Jason has been harboring the same feelings for his bestie’s little sister, though he has kept them hidden…until now. Now that Jason has decided he is no longer keeping his feelings in the dark, he goes for it, like a thousand percent. There is no stopping that train, which I really liked about him, though at times he probably came off a little strong, but he did say he would give Tessa all the time in the world. I liked that he had a balance of both strong and alpha and soft and caring and compassionate when he knew she needed that side of him.
I really enjoy the author’s writing style. I read this book in one sitting as I was so engaged in it. There were also some definitely steamy moments between this highly charged couple!!!
This was my first Stacey Lynn book, but it won’t be my last.
Tessa’s life has just fallen apart after a surprise from her asshole ex, forcing her to seek help from her brother, and his best friend, her long time crush.
Jason has wanted Tessa, his best friends’ baby sister for years. Now that she’s single and finally within his grasp, he’s done waiting.
This was a great and effortless read. I loved the story and I especially loved the break from the regular romance novel – brothers’ best friend mold. Sometimes, things can just work out, without a pile of angst and heartache.
5 stars and a pair of heels.
I received an ARC for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love Stacey Lynn’s books, and she has a way with words that run as smoothly as a steady stream. The Ice Kings are believable and relatable. This one is no different.
Tessa Chauncy has just been super screwed over by her ex. Left with nothing in her house, but a few canned goods. Thankfully she has an amazing brother Sawyer who lets her come hang out with him and his girl. Hoping to get back on her feet, she also realizes she will be around her oldest crush, Jason Taylor.
Jason Taylor may be BFF with Sawyer Chauncy, but he has the most impure thoughts about his little sister. Now that Tessa is here in Charlotte, he sees this as his big chance to let it be known that he wants something with her. Knowing he has to find the balance between pushing her out of her comfort zone and not pushing her so hard, she wants nothing to do with him.
Will Jason find the balance and get the girl or will Tessa flee back home to Toronto and forget about Jason once and for all?
I was able to read this book in a day. Tessa would be my BFF. I mean, who doesn’t like butter chicken and naan, it’s so freaking good. Also, I completely understand her hesitation to start something with Jason. She got out of a bad relationship and had everything she owned stolen. I think she handles things better than I would have. Also, I think it helps that Jason was there. He was pushy, but a good push. I would have pushed back in the ways Tessa would have, and yea, I would have argued with Jason just like Tessa did as well. Though I loved Jason’s alpha ness, he was written manly. He didn’t give up on her and was brave enough to apologize for some things, but not for everything.
I highly recommend this book and the other books in the Ice King series. I can’t wait to see what else happens. I am especially interested in Sebastian Hendrix.
