Fall in love with the maid of honor and the best man with this friends to lovers STANDALONE.
Most people would look at my life and swear it’s the building block for a romantic comedy,
But for me—it’s anything but amusing.
While I’m helping my best friend plan her wedding, I get hit with a bomb.
One that ruins all my hopes and dreams of marriage and starting a family.
My long-term boyfriend isn’t … family.
My long-term boyfriend isn’t only a lying, cheating, piece of worthlessness,
He’s also in love with the woman he’s been seeing behind my back.
Now I’m forced to act like my best friend’s wedding isn’t going to hurt my soul while I try to mend my heart.
What’s the best way to get over a broken heart?
A no strings attached hook-up.
Nothing helps heal like a good lay.
But there’s this one hot, witty, flirtatious and delicious man who is completely off-limits.
The best man.
Despite my best attempts to say no, a pre-wedding vacation trip snaps my willpower.
Even when we’re back home and I know it’s a bad idea, I still can’t seem to say no.
While I try to pretend nothing is going on, he’s dead set on convincing me to give him a chance.
I mean, nothing puts friendships on the line like lying about why I have a smile on my face.
Now we just have to figure out if we can make this work without ruining an entire circle of friends who I consider family.
Note: Steamy scenes with laughs and an HEA.

I totally fell in love with Aimee in this book, her sassy mouth and attitude had me giggling. Cody was exactly what I expected, funny, flirty and he had this soft side to him that made me melt. I knew these two would be explosive together and wow was I not wrong there. Once loved these two together!
This is the 2nd book in this awesome series and is Aimee and Cody’s story. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, but can Cody convince Aimee to trust him and take a chance? This is a beautifully written story is relatable, and with realistic characters and plot, and is a fun, humorous, steamy and all-round entertaining read. I highly recommend for all readers’; you will not be disappointed.
TC Matson created a group of friends to envy of! They love each other to death and I had a lot of fun with Aimee, Brooklyn, Shyla, Cody, Nathan and Brady. They are really at each other’s corners, specially the girls.
Aimee is the lady of the time. Going through a heartbreak after her ex-boyfriend of six years admit to her that she has been cheating on her for a long time and now leaving her to have his HEA, Aimee is not doing well. Even more when her two best friends are getting married and her dreams of having a family was over not long ago. She wants to move on but can’t, she has trust issues. In the meantime, she’s having some forgetful one night stands.
At the other side we have successful Cody, he has a womanizer reputation but since the first time he saw Aimee he only wanted her in a serious way, he just wants to have her smiling and cherish. Even if she does not take him serious, both of them keep with flirting and a sporting a strong chemistry. And then, at Brooklyn and Nathan’s bachelor vacation, he has enough and start to strongly pursue her.
I love Cody and his support and understand towards Aimee’s situation of mistrust, he keeps his faith in change her mind about him. Making it clear that he is not her ex and would never hurt her. He does a lottt of good things for her, truly.
So while I love him, I was really a gray and upset with her. See, she has the right to tell she doesn’t want him and move on. 100%. But the way she treated and hurt him, specially a person who she claims is her friend and doesn’t want to change the group status if their relationship goes sour, she really was awful, rude and ill mannered.
For a good part of the book I just wish that he would give up on her and find a person who’d treat him better. But well, love is a crazy thing and good thing he was persistent because their ending and epilogue was super sweet and wouldn’t be the same with another woman.
Good book and fast reading, you will love Cody!
Hook Up by T.C. Matson a five-star read that will hook, you line and sinker. This is number two in the taking chances series but they can be read as stand-alone as each story features a different couple, they do pop up in each other stories, but only to compliment not confuse. This is so much fun, it will make you smile so much, but its not all sunshine, as Aimee really has had a time of it, and sometimes you just cant ever get over the type of hurt she faced, and who can blame her for falling back to her old ways. I adored Aimee, she just has a wonderful inner monologue and self. But the real surprise of this story was Cade, he just blew me away in the best way possible. This is an amazing story and one that you need in your life!! If you haven’t checked this author before, please do as she writes some funny, and real characters that you will fall so hard for.
Hook Up by TC Matson was such a fun and adorable read about friends to lovers. Aimee was left devasted after her long-time boyfriend, the man she thought she would marry, left her for another woman. Now she struggles to trust again, even as she sees her friends falling in love and getting married. She is happy for them, of course she is, but she can’t help being sad. I loved Aimee. She was a bit vulnerable, but also so freaking strong. Cody, her best friend’s best friend, and her share this witty banter, back and forth tease with a bit of flirting behind it. But he is off limits, right?
I just loved Aimee and Cody, they were so good together. But Aimee struggles with trust, can she really trust him. Even so, Cody was determined to show her what they could have together and not to lump all men the same. He was determined, charming and just so patient. I loved watching them fall and seeing Cody breaking down her walls. Such a fun and heartwarming read.

HOLY HOTNESS! No doubt about it, everyone needs a man like Cody I’m their life. As CFO and best friend to Nathan, he is loyal, hilarious and always there. As the man who says all the right things to a woman he cares about and wants, he is a dream. As the man in that same woman’s bed, he is so hot I don’t know how the bed doesn’t catch fire! Aimee and Cody have a language all their own. It’s full of banter, sarcasm and amusement. Aimee’s past is their first obstacle in making a relationship work, and Aimee’s knowledge of Cody’s past is the second. This story though, all I could think was, every woman needs a Cody in their life! Every woman DESERVES a Cody in their life! So if you haven’t figured it out yet, you need this book in YOUR life!

Hook Up is book two in the Taking Chances series and is Cody and Aimee’s story. Aimee is nursing a broken heart after her longtime boyfriend admits to cheating on her and calls things off. She is heartbroken and even though she’s thrilled for her best friend, she’s struggling with her upcoming wedding. So, her coping method to everything is a string of one night hook ups. Cody is wanting Aimee in a bad way and even though he comes off as a playboy, all he wants is to prove to her that she’s the one for him and that he’s in it for the long haul.
Cody is totally swoon worthy and I adored Aimee’s sassiness. The banter between these two is magnificent. The dynamic among this whole group of friends is something that everyone should strive for. Hook Up is full of fun and flirty moments, self discovery and finding happily ever after. I loved it.

What a fun read. Loved the snarky Aimee interactions and the very persistent sexy Cody. The flirty dialogue was light and fun and just what I needed at the moment.
I highly recommend this and looking forward to the next.
