Journey back to Neverland, NC with NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author Gina L. Maxwell as she turns your favorite villain into the hero you never knew you needed.THEY CALL ME HOOKI’m Captain of the Pirates; a villain by design and a loner by nature.I don’t need anyone. More than that, I don’t want anyone. Especially Officer John Darling who insists on seeing the good in everything, including … in everything, including me. If there was ever any good inside of me, it was snuffed out long ago.
I’ve avoided him for years, but now I need his help to save my brother’s life and take down Fred Croc, the monster from my childhood and my current employer.
Now Darling is undercover in my crew, living in my loft and forever working out shirtless. Taking Croc’s operation down from the inside is dangerous as hell, but Darling’s probing gaze and the natural way he defers to my dominant side might just be the end of me.
But I’ve lived in the dark for too long, and no amount of light can save me. Not even one as bright as Johnathan Darling.
HE CALLS ME DARLING
I’m a Task Force Officer with the FBI; a protector of the innocent and a man in love with a villain.
Before I was even old enough to understand it, I had a crush on the broody teen called Captain Hook, following him around like a puppy and hoping he’d show me the slightest bit of attention.
He never did, though, not for years. Not until I became his only viable option for getting his crew member back and throwing Croc behind bars. Now he can’t ignore me, and he can’t hide the desire burning in his eyes when I sink to my knees, eager to serve my Captain however he needs.
But secrets are hard to keep in close quarters, and when I discover the darkness lurking in his past, eradicating the evil in Neverland is no longer my only mission. Come hell or high water, I’ll make Hook see that he’s never been the villain of this story…he’s the hero.

REVIEW: 4 STARS
“For such a hard-bodied guy, you’re awfully soft on the inside.”
I *finally* sat down to devour Hook and I am so glad I took the time on this one. I was anxiously anticipating this one, but I was almost scared to start it because of all the hopes I had for it. Crazy, I know. THIS LONG awaited followup to Pan was a great book. It’s not your run-of-the-mill “cop falls for the bad guy” kind of story. Yes, it followed the narrative of “I’m not good enough for you/you’re too good compared to my bad” kind of story, but there was so much more to it. It’s so much more in-depth when it comes to the storyline because of, believe it or not, the backstory that goes with it. Now, to be fair, going into this story after finishing Pan, I knew there was something going on with Hook that I absolutely knew was going to be painful to witness. I wanted this one to be written …. heavier. I wanted Maxwell to give me the pain, the anger, the sorrow and the shame that I knew came with this type of storyline, to be more of a heavy read for me to embrace the background that I knew was coming. She definitely gave me that. I felt all of it, and I knew Hook was internally battling some wounds that only the right love would be able to help him, but the right man.
First and foremost: HOT. These two were HOT. The truths that came from the pain that is leveled in this story are soul-deep. Certainly ones to be read with emotion and intention, and not with a light thought – and I’m glad I had the buildup from Pan to work with. I knew this was a heavier read and I wanted to appreciate the gravity of the situation this book presented, but I also knew their white-hot chemistry was something to watch mature through the pages, and that part I really enjoyed – as well as their humor.
“If I’m not meant to be happy and John’s destined to be my downfall, then I’m going to enjoy every sweet minute of my descent.”
I just loved the dynamic between John and Hook. There’s so much desire and lust in between the two – palpable even – but it’s not anything that they can actually act upon, which makes it even more daring because it’s a hard line to cross. I love when something uncontrollable is stepping in the way, whether it be moral, emotional, physical, or mental. I appreciated that Maxwell gave me a little bit of each with this storyline. Having said that, here was a softer tone to the voice of Hook than I originally anticipated there would be. It’s not bad, it just made me see him in a whole new light. There was a lot more to discover about him; definitely not a surface scratching character. Even though I was hoping for more grrrr and less purr, their story really worked for me.
If I loved it so much, why is it a four star? There were some forced parts that were bothering me. I only say forced as in some things felt pushed-upon, instead of happening organically. It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t all forced, but some parts felt out of place. I found that they worked after the fact – so that was a little bit of a different approach for me, but since Maxwell is still a very new author to me, I’m still learning her voice and her storytelling style.
In the beginning, the hardest part for me was that I didn’t feel their connection immediately, but I certainly read it but I wanted to feel it!! They burned hot for each other and there was no denying that. I just wish I ‘felt’ it earlier on. It grew over the course of the book, and it most definitely manifested itself well by the end of the book, I just had to catch up with her thought process while reading it.
The writing was smooth, but overtly wordy at times. I know, I know. That sounds funny when it’s obviously a book I’m reading! I just think her words gave enough oomph to not really need the ‘extra’, but sometimes it was overly descriptive where there wasn’t really a reason for it. Maxwell sold the scenes wonderfully. She gave me the excitement of a secret, the anticipation of a kiss….but what she gave me most was a love worth following. I knew that Hook hid his emotions, but I also felt that he couldn’t hide from Darling. His pain was spelled out fairly clearly – and that opened the flood gates for a better understanding of Hook. I volleyed between John and Hook being too soft and “this is so perfect!!” I loved their dynamic. I loved their relationship. It was the perfect delivery of give and take. John and Hook had my heart by the end of this story. The calm John gave Hook was refreshing. I felt the release of tension every time Jonathan was there to hold James’s hand…or heart. it really was a test of patience, of will, and of love.
“As much as I wanted to let him run the show, my control is slipping.”
While I’ve enjoyed her stories so far, her voice does lend a very feminine-esque sound to these very alpha males. Not nitpicking, but a rough and tumble guy doesn’t usually say “the water sluices over me” so it just came out as a very thesaurus-using description, even for a well read man. Yes, he’s smart and he reads – but this isn’t everyday language. So the words and descriptions had me shaking my head a few times, but not enough to take away from my overall enjoyment of the book. I do like that Maxwell can give me a story that I can get lost in and her story can transport me to another world, but I war with the the difference in the tones that her voice lends versus the story that I’m actually reading. Definitely not bad, because as women we are emotional beings, but I hear her voice and not necessarily John’s or James’. Again, not bad because I’m being handed the emotions on a platter, but I wanted to feel it from their POV with their grittiness, not necessarily her emotions.
Something crazy to think about, but this was the kind of book I could put down, think about, come back to, put down to do something else, only to come back again and continue reading as if there weren’t any breaks. This book was like an old friend; I could step away and come back like nothing changed in time. They’re comfy reads for me. I really enjoy them. All in all, seriously, truly a great storyteller. I enjoy these books and am looking forward to more.
Confession: I think I went in with a predetermined perfection in my head based on what others were saying, and I usually don’t do that because I like to form my own opinions. I set it aside and then picked it back up – with renewed eyes and an open mind. Much better. I’ll be honest, I was almost too worried about this read and review. It’s such a great story, but her voice didn’t originally project the heaviness the story required – in.my.mind. She’s a solid 4 star writer for me and I most definitely want more. So far, her stories have pulled me in. She’s got great stories to tell and I will continue to follow this entire series. I’m really enjoying the trip down memory lane into Neverland that she’s providing me.
Remember, this is her tentative schedule of books she plans on releasing (in no order) and I will be reading every single one of them.

There is a time when a story from your childhood is brought to life, movie or book and it doesn’t do it justice. Well, let me tell you this is not that time. Author Gina L. Maxwell has brought Captain James Hook to life and made me fall head over heels in love with him.
This story is filled with pain, heartbreak, some abuse, lust, family, and love to weather it all. Hook and John are total opposites, one is a villain and the other is part of the FBI task force to take down drug dealers in the area.
I finished this story late last night, went to sleep but woke up sometime during the night thinking about my review and what I would say. I had some great words but now I can’t remember most of them. So I will say to read this one along with Pan, book 1, if you loved the story Peter Pan as a child, then you will love this series even more.
Hook and Darling are at opposite ends of the spectrum but so hot. There’s no villain quite like James Hook! John Darling is determined to prove to him that he’s not all bad and his dark past isn’t going to stop him from being loved by someone. A dark read that can trigger some but an awesome story.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
“If you can’t come into the light, then I’ll live with you inside the dark. You don’t need to believe you can be saved, James. I’ll believe it enough for the both of us. You only need to let me love you.”
Hook doesn’t need anyone. He is Captain of the Pirates and is determined to keep everyone at a distance. Unfortunately, John Darling has a way of getting past his barriers and he is the only one who can help me take down Croc.
Oh my goodness was this book so good! I was hooked from the very first chapter and I didn’t want to put it down, but I also didn’t want to finish it too quickly. I knew after reading Pan that Hook’s story was going to be an emotional one but I wasn’t expecting this much pain, and love.
Hook has made so many sacrifices for his adopted family, and they don’t even know about it. He always pushes them away and does everything he can to keep people at a distance, just so he doesn’t accidently endanger anyone. John was the only one who saw through his façade of indifference. He saw the pain and anger and he didn’t run from it. He just helps Hook through it and makes him a better person.
This book is all about overcoming one’s issues, with and without help. Hook learns to trust others, gains some self worth, let go of the anger and pain of his past, and most importantly, he learns to love, all because John believed in him and never gave up on him. John’s determination and compassion were perfect for a man who lives his life by pushing people away. He wasn’t afraid to stand up to Hook when he needed to or to submit to him. These two had a very steamy and emotional relationship that just set the story on fire! Also I loved how John would do little things to take care of Hook.
I can’t wait for more books in this series. I love all the Lost Boys/Pirates so far and I can’t wait to learn more about their lives and see them find happiness.

Wow! I cannot begin to explain how good this book was. This story is filled with such emotions, good and bad and it will take you on a journey that you never even knew that you needed to go on.
To say James “Captain” Hook had a rough childhood is an understatement. He went through things that no child should ever have to face. Because of his past, Hook believes he needs to live his life alone and in the darkness. When Fred Croc gets Hook’s brother, Starkey thrown into jail, Hook realizes that the only way to get his brother out and bring Croc down is to work with the FBI Task Force Officer, Johnathan Darling….yes the same John that he met when he was younger; that he is now attracted to; but could never have. When John ends up moving into Hook’s loft for his undercover role things start heating up between John and Hook. Where Hook is all dark, John is all light! They compliment each other well. John knew he was always drawn to Hook when they were younger but now he understands where that attraction comes from and he is determined to make Hook his. Of course Hook fights John every step of the way but eventually they both give in to their feelings.
Just when it looks like the FBI is finally going to bring Croc down and get Starkey released, Hook’s world comes crashing down all around him. It will take a small miracle for Hook to find his happy ending and John is going to do everything in his power to see that he gets it.
I just adored these two. Hook is such a broken soul. He really needed someone like John who can bring such light into his world over and over again so that he really can start to heal. I also just adored John. Everyone needs someone like that in their corner. He is so good and so determined to give Hook the world he deserves and it was fun watching him do it. Overall this was a fantastic addition to this series and I can’t wait for the next book!
This is my first Gina Maxwell book and I can say it will NOT be my last. I know it’s the second book in a series, and it’s ok to read as a standalone, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything vital to the story. I received this book in a book box subscription, and I’m so very glad I did. Gina’s writing is fantastic and I can’t wait to dive into more of her works. Hook is not my usual troupe of M/M, I usually shy away from them, but with my subscription I don’t like to waste books, and I couldn’t have been more happy that I gave this book a chance. When you throw bad guy Hook and a Task Force Officer with the FBI Jonathon, you get fireworks you never expected. This book is so beautifully written, that I don’t think I’ll be shying away from the M/M troupe anymore.
Hook is the very definition of angst. Gina Maxwell doesn’t hold back as she gives us the at times very excruciating tale of one James Hook and the man who would ultimately save him in more ways than one, the truly wonderful John Darling. These two have known each other since they were kids when John’s sister Wendy first discovered the Lost Boys and gave them some joy in their less than ideal lives. John always felt something a bit more for Hook, daring even to call him by his first name when James despised the word. And now as adults. with the brazen cop and the hesitant drug pusher face to face once more, all bets are off as they come together both professionally and personally and take on Hook’s demons once and for all.
Wow. This story is incredible. Taking yet another piece of the Peter Pan legacy, Maxwell turns the saga of Hook on it’s ear and ravages the readers with her no holds barred view into his complex world. My heart broke over and over again as the memories surfaced of his ‘special times’ with that demonic Fred Croc. I’m not sure I would have been as calm as the stoic John was as he starts to break down the hardened walls of Hook’s heart. Taking the time to know him and become what he needs, even going against his own desires all the while making sure Hook felt some semblance of comfort. In a word, John becomes his savior. The road they travel, albeit wildly bumpy and unforgiving at times, is also one filled with hope and the promise of a salvation Hook never even considered.
John Darling is one special man. His tenderness towards Hook. His promise of light, when Hook’s world was so very dark had me smiling through some tears as he becomes the ultimate tether and eventual weapon in the war against Croc. Maxwell combines this burgeoning love story with the desire to bring down the evil Croc and it’s as much a race against time to bring him to justice as it is to save the last remnants of Hook’s soul. To say I was hooked is an understatement.
And then there is the reluctant star of this book, James Hook himself. The brooding hero is beautiful and selfless and broken. I wanted to reach into my ereader and smother him with hugs even if he couldn’t accept them. His desire to fix the wrongs both done to him and his Pirates, most importantly Starkey, showed his strength even as he often felt he was at a crossroads and didn’t know how to continue. But with his Johnathan by his side, the real James began to emerge once more and it’s truly a fight to the finish as their relationship and their mission to bring down Croc fatefully combine in ways that are beyond their comprehension.
Hook is one powerful book as Maxwell takes a turn in the M/M genre and delivers a triumphant love story that is steamy and tender and full of a desire that cannot be extinguished. With some rare lighter moments with Pan, Wendy and Smee (he is a scene stealer time and again), Hook kept me riveted and I was determined to see this adventure through even it meant my heart would be in my throat more than once. And it was. But I wouldn’t change one moment of it.
A very worthy and exceptional second book in this Neverland series, I happily give Hook 5+ stars!
A+ rating! Brilliant book. OMG, this book was so freaking good. A ton of angst and emotion…just how I like it. I wasn’t sure I’d survive Hook’s story, but it was AMAZING!! And John…so good!
Holy shiz nit. This was a really hot book. M/M if yall didnt catch that. But holy moly i loved it. So so good. Worth the wait and everything. I loved James Hook and John Darling. These guys were the perfect pair. I loved seeing Pan and Wendy. Can i just say im really excited for the other Neverland books!
4.5 Stars
Once again this author creates another amazing fairy tale re-telling that was packed full of so many emotions! Hook and John came together to be this amazing couple that were absolutely perfect for each other. It was a little bit of an opposites attract story. Hook as the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks and John as the good boy who steals the bad boys heart. I really enjoyed the story the Gina Maxwell created! It was sweet, steamy, and a little dark and gritty. I thought the story was really well written with good flow. I was entertained from beginning to end. I am looking forward to what else this author writes!
Growing up, the stories of Peter Pan & Captain Hook were always my least favorites. But Gina L. Maxwell’s Neverland series has absolutely changed my mind on them both.
Hook, book 2 of the series, is Gina’s first foray into writing a M/M story, and as usual Gina did not disappoint. This story is full of ups & downs, pain & healing, hate & love.
Hook, forced into the role of “villain” by events of his past & John, an “old friend” & member of the FBI Task Force are forced to work together to bring down Croc. What will happen finally give in to feelings they’ve both fought for years? Can they find a way to move beyond their pain & find a way to build a life together? I can’t tell you more without giving you spoilers, but this is a story that left me full of emotions. It had twists & turns, a few laughs & lots of tears, and of course, some really hot love scenes! Fair warning though, prepare yourself for a book hangover.
I’ve fallen in love with all of the secondary characters & can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!
I usually do not read M/M storylines. I read one once that was poorly written so when a series has a book that is M/M centric I usually skip over it. When I read Pan I fell in love with Hook. There was no way I was going to skip his story. Gina Maxwell did not disappoint.
James Hook’s story is a hard one to read. With a drug addicted mother who died leaving two young children, James was forced to look out for his two year old brother. They find themselves in a loving home, with caring care-givers only to have the promise of a better life snatched away. They end up living in an environment of physical abuse at the hands of those who are supposed to take care of them. Now add in the element of sexual abuse. James Hook, being the type of personality to feel the need to shelter others allows himself to be abused so the other children do not have to endure the same pain and suffering he does.
All grown up, Hook still plots revenge against the man (Fred Croc) who abused him. This is when John Darling, Wendy’s brother, enters the story. John is a police office working a special task force charged with taking Fred Croc down. John infiltrates Hook’s band of Pirates in an effort to get an inside edge on Croc. John has always been secretly in love with Hook. Can John help James overcome the trauma of his childhood abuses? Can they take down Fred Croc?
Gina Maxwell wrote an amazing book that delved into incredibly tough topics. There are scenes that could trigger bad reactions from readers and Maxwell accounted for this with a warning and link to an alternative chapter. As a straight female I have to say the sex/intimate scenes were hot as hell. I fully recommend the whole series and I hope you fall in love with James and John as much as I did.
Hook and John seemed like an unlikely pair. Hook was a vilian, John was the law. When they are paired up to bring down the worst kind of criminal and the man that had tormented Hook for years, their connection couldn’t be denied. John had idolized Hook from the moment he laid eyes on him when they were kids. The story is full of intense moments and undeniable attraction and hot forbidden love. Everyone deserves to be loved and to feel safe but Hook had a very different experience in life that took someone special to show him the possibilities. This was one of the best m/m books I’ve had the pleasure to read. I loved these two, can’t wait for more from Neverland.
Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault, Child Abuse, Murder, Abuse, Angst, Drug Use
As many of you know, I’ve been waiting anxiously for Hook to come out! I was one of the lucky bloggers that Gina gave a copy to in exchange for an honest review. I read Pan earlier this year and fell completely head over heels for Gina’s writing, and I’ve been shoving Pan down everyone’s throats because it is that amazing! Now, full disclosure, I have only read one other M/M romance, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. All I knew was that I couldn’t wait to fly into Neverland again.
I built Hook up in my head so much that at times I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype. Luckily, Hook was everything I wanted and more. This book follows Hook & John’s story. The chemistry between them was out of this world. It was fun to see the anger, the angst, and the fire between the two of them. The characters as always were well written and thoroughly entertaining. I laughed, I cried, and I had to put my book down a few times, so I didn’t throw my kindle.
The plotline was one of the shining stars of this book. It was action-packed, intense, and extremely engaging. I never wanted to put the book down, yet I enjoyed it so much I never wanted it to end. I loved the undercover aspect of the book, and it makes me want to reread some of my favorite romantic suspense. I was always on the edge of my seat and couldn’t wait to see how everything unfolded.
All in all, I LOVED this book. It lived up to the hype that I had in my head, and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series when it comes out. If you enjoy angst-filled bad boys with a heart of gold, this is the book for you. Gina truly knows how to write angst in a way that everyone can enjoy.
Captain James Hook has my heart. This was far beyond the 5 stars I am allowed to give. I loved that John was the balm to Hook’s heart. John was able to show Hook that everyone is capable of love and that it’s always nice to have someone to lean on. I absolutely loved this book and this world and cannot wait until the next book!
ARC REVIEW
This book shook me to my core.
Here I thought ‘Pan’ was the best book I had read from this author, she had to go and up her game creating this incredible masterpiece.
‘Hook’ by Gina L Maxwell is the second book in her retelling in a unique and new way of the lives of the famous Peter Pan tale characters.
If you haven’t read the first book in the series, then you are doing something wrong with your life that should be rectified ASAP.
‘Hook’ follows the life of one of our favorite villains in the history of villains, Captain James Hook and the impossibly adorable and sweet Darling Sibling, Special Agent John Darling.
This is a tragic, beautifully broken story with an HEA you’ll never see coming.
It is truly one of my top reads this year, the best book I have read from this author and something I know I won’t forget anytime soon.
Hook has had a rough life since he was just a little kid who had to act like an adult and take matters upon himself with no one there to help him stand up every time he was down. He is a broken man driven by anger, revenge, and aggression, someone no sane person would try and cross and risk their lives contradicting him. He is cold, distant, calculated and owns wall so high around himself it’s hard to even think that there is actually something behind them. He is all these things but he is also scared, vulnerable and yet strong, someone with a past that keeps haunting him at every moment of the day, a man who’s never expected anything and doesn’t believe in happiness exists for villains like him.
Little did he know, he isn’t and never was the villain in this story.
John is a caring and honest special agent who has devoted his life to helping others, especially brooding and dark others who fight against his help any chance they get. John is smart, charismatic, funny, light and passionate, he doesn’t back down when scared and will put everything he has in him to protect those who are scared. He has always felt something for the lonely boy he met when he was just a kid, but the grown-up version of Hook has John feeling those emotions tenfold and testing his limits when it comes to caring for him.
Their relationship is anything but easy, they are exact opposites that for some reason can’t stand away from each other. The back and forth, the banters, the angst, all contribute in making their relationship and their touch one of the most magical and explosive ones out there.
One is Domineering, the other is too in all aspects of his life but when it comes to them, he knows what he wants, and that is to kneel to worship and care for his partner.
The D/s interactions between these two characters are unique and vulnerable and sweet, they create s*xual tension that reaches the starts and creates something magical between Hook and John.
This book dabs into dark matters that will probably make you shake from the inside out, but it also shows friendship and family, a love so strong that can put demons back in their place, overcome every obstacle it is faced with and show the whole world that no matter how scared you are to feel, love will always win and shine through you. Even if you don’t want it to.
This book is not suitable for all readers due to sensitive subjects that could trigger some readers.
It is a dark book, an action-packed masterpiece filled with sarcasm, passion, and anger, it is everything I had hoped for and more. This book truly reaches the stars.
I believe I have never cried as I cried for this book, never felt feelings so strong they were ripping me open and the only way to let them out was to keep reading.
‘Hook’ has made me fall back in love with all the characters from this series, with all their quirky habits and crazy lives, with a damaged Hook and a determined John.
It gave me all the feels and I couldn’t have asked for more.
This book is really really special and I can’t help but applaud the author because she created something so unique I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget it.
Make sure you check out this book. No need to give you a reason why. You just need to.
Hook’s story is all I wanted and more……..
I’ve waited for this story and I was NOT disappointed, Maxwell has created a story about a hero that can’t see himself as anything but a villain. John helps Hook in so many ways and the relationship building between them throughout the book is heartbreaking and raw but holds a hint of what can be.
The storyline is excellent and I have problems putting it down.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good and plenty of dialogues
I’ve got to know Hook and John in the previous book in this series so I got some glimpse of what could be and their personalities.
Love scenes is intense but also tender in some ways.
Maxwell has created a world I would love to read more about and the secondary characters is intriguing so the waiting begins again…..
5 stars mm romance that definitely can be read again.
The second book in the Neverland novels had me swooning & fanning myself. Gina L Maxwell manages to take classic characters & breathe new sexy life into them. Hook & John’s story is impossible to put down & so satisfying you’ll need a smoke afterward. 🙂
Hook by Gina Maxwell was a very dark, intense and disturbing read. I will warn you….. for those of you who are triggered by child abuse of a sexual nature you may want to be extra cautious. While there is no current abuse, there are flashbacks. That said, the flashbacks are not all explicitly graphic, however the author is very talented at painting the picture regardless. There will be no mistaking what you’re reading about.
I praise Gina Maxwell for the boundaries she crosses in her writing. These details are not easy to read, so I know that are even that much more difficult to write. that being said, I read a review copy but I understand in the original finished copy has an alternate chapter.
This book brought forth many emotions the most prominent being anger, and heartbreak. So, you are probably wondering why I read such a book? Life isn’t always painted with blue skies and butterflies. Sometimes we need reminders that this world isn’t perfect. Books like Hook bring that reality into perspective. And when we are given a beautifully written, believable happy ending our feeling of joy and elation will be that much more appreciated. I praise this author for writing realistic and believable text.
Hook is one of my favorite MM romances. Hook was a character whose whole purpose in life was to protect those around him. No matter how high and despicable the cost. Hook is a criminal by trade but not by choice. He is careful not to let people too close knowing the end will result in more despair for him and those he loves.
John Darling had a connection with Hook since they were children. But it wasn’t until more than a decade later these two amazing men would be able to explore a relationship, albeit extremely carefully. I don’t want to give any of the story away. This is a book you’ll want to read without any spoilers. I don’t even want to comment on the last chapter; the ending. I will say that while I was pleased how things are going well for John and Hook, I am anxious for the next book in this series to assure me they are still going strong.
Hook is book two in Gina L. Maxwell’s Neverland series. The first book titled, Pan is Peter and Wendy’s story. It is also where we learn the dynamic of the Lost Boys, Hook and his pirates and the evil that is Fred Croc. Hook is a standalone but I think you’ll get more out of the story if you read Pan as well.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it
This book is EVERYTHING. Hook has so much to offer, but doesn’t feel worthy of anyone or love. John is the only one that believes in him and is determined to show him what a beautiful man he is. Reading this book—you will experience every emotion…happiness, sadness, tears, laughter. This was another Gina L. Maxwell book that will sit with you and you will be dying for more. Maxwell has the ability to write that shows the gift that she has. As the mother of a gay son, Gina now has me on a mission to find the perfect Hook to my Darling son…and the happily ever after that they have.
