Falling in love is supposed to be the easy part. But nothing prepared me for losing my wife. I promised her that I’d love again. Find someone to mend my broken heart. And that seems impossible, until the day that I walk into Tilly Carter’s cupcake shop.I’ve never met a woman like her–sassy, dirty-mouthed, and smells like vanilla and sin. Someone that makes me want to sweep her off her feet. But … her feet.
But there’s pain in her emerald eyes that mirrors my own.
A past that neither of us can truly escape.
Now that I have her, I’ll do anything to keep her.

I enjoyed reading this book! It had me in tears in the beginning and at the end smiling!! It is about second chances , moving forward and learning to love again. It is well written and I highly recommend this book and author!!!!!
Sometimes a book is just filled with sex, romance, and a little twist. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE THOSE. Sometimes a little emotion that pulls you into the fold of the characters, their anguish and growth becomes your own. Well Chelle delivered not only on th sex, romance, and alpha but the love and needs of a child, man, woman, brother, and family.
Grief of any kind is enough to bring the strongest person to their knees but when you are lonely, trying, and still grieving it takes a special person to understand. Tilly and Angelo found that in each other and regardless of the family pressure only they knew when it was time. Only they knew their limits, how to understand the difference of betrayal and loving two people at once. Understanding there is NO competition just a future that holds a past that will never be forgotten or lose value. Yes, get your tissue because the ride is bumpy but the ending will gut you and leave you curled in a ball.
The best type of feeling as a reader and person. A good cry being the best therapy.
You are going to need a tissue for the prologue – that is all I will say about that one. But then be prepared to laugh at chapter 1. There are many highs and lows in the rest of the book.
Angelo and Tilly’s backgrounds are very similar. They both had to deal with death and grieved for a very long time. Now that they have found each other (and the Gallos have found her too) they need to figure out if they can move on together or just be friends.
Between the letters that Tilly reads, the memories that they share and genuine feeling of love you may get emotional. On the other hand, there is still the comedy and good nature of the Gallo family involved.
Another great book put out by Chelle.
The Gallo family reminds me of my own Italian family; full of love and always hosting a big family dinner on Sundays that everyone must attend. They also mourn very deeply when someone they love passes, which is the case with Angelo and his beloved late wife, Marissa. His children are his top priority and he is unsure how they would feel if he started dating. He doesn’t feel it is the right time to be with anyone but from the moment he first saw Tilly, he knew his life would never be the same. Tilly is an angel in his eyes and she makes people smile and lights up every room that she enters. She has warmed his sad and broken heart and he finally felt that he could look forward to a future of love and happiness.
Tilly mourns her late husband every day but when Angelo stepped into her cupcake shop her heart skipped a beat, her skin tingled, and life looked a little brighter. Where had he been all of her life? Did Angelo come into her life for a reason and was he the man who will make her smile and keep her safe?
My heart broke for Angelo as I began reading this passionate and hopeful story about a grief-stricken couple who weren’t looking for love when they met. They were just taking one day at a time, one step at a time, toward a new life filled with the possibility of a second chance at love.
Wow what an amazing heart wrenching story, I shed not only sad tears but happy ones as well. There hasn’t been a book that made me feel this emotional in a long time. Grief is tough to overcome, and holy hell did Chelle Bliss ever pull this story off perfectly, it felt real, it made me have all the feels, the love didn’t feel rushed or one sided. Didn’t think I could love another Gallo boy but yes they are all truly amazing in their own way.
Angelo and Tilly are united in their grief. They are wading through uncharted territories and looking to find a comfortable new love together. This is an emotional story with less action and drama and more feelings and frosting! Tilly is opening a cupcake shop so there is this delicious taste testing scene that is hotter than an oven on fan bake!! This is a softer story, it’s sweeter and it was a great way to reset while I was reading The Italian. Lance gives us an Angelo who is worried to move on. His performance is an emotional one which fits this book perfectly. Samantha, who’s my favourite female voice actor, can deliver on all fronts. Tilly’s cute little twang to her accent and her hesitance in moving forward can be heard through her emotional inner monologues. A great audiobook which had me craving cupcakes!!!
What a wonderful story!
I was dying to read Angelo’s story since the very first book in this series and I was definitely not disappointed.
He’s without a doubt favorite book boyfriend material.
Angelo and Tilly has both been through so much in their young lives and that made them even more sensitive to each other’s pain and grief. They understood each other like no one else and that was beautifully shown along the whole story.
They were respectful of each other’s feelings and past, of their loved ones (either present or long gone). There was so much care and love, so much growth and maturity, so much companionship and chemistry.
My heart was in a constant state of grace, hope, grief and love. I was happy for them, I felt their pain, I felt their connection and I respected the heck out of them both.
There was this gravity and strength about Angelo and Tilly that is hard to find in any other person (either fictional or alive) and it was so empowering to watch.
And what about Tate and Brax?? oh my God, they filled my heart to the brim.
I loved every second of this story and I hope we get more of them, because a story as marvelous as theirs shouldn’t be told only once.
Chelle Bliss aa well as characters truly make you feel like you’re part of an incredible family who’s voyages leave you with the kaleidoscope of wondering what’s next
You can’t go wrong with one of her books. Hook was hot, interesting, and kept me needing to know more.
Beautiful! I love reading Chelle Bliss stories. Chelle did not let me down on this one. This is the third book in the Southside series. This is Angelo and Lilly story. I love this story because it brought two people together that had gone through tragedy and have rose up from it to find love again. Hook will grab you from the first page. This book will have you crying from the start, just like me. I HIGHLY recommend this series to EVERYONE!!! I can’t wait to read more from Chelle. Keep up the awesome work!
Oh my god! My heart! I have never started a book in tears! That was hard! Great book, but oh my goodness! What an emotional start to the book!
This was Tilly (the baker) and Angelo Gallo (who has two younger children). This Gallo family…wow…just wow! I am loving this series, the family is great! The mother, Betty, cracks me up. I just loved Tilly and Angelo. They both lost their significant other and were very skeptical about dating someone because it always felt like cheating or betrayal towards their significant other that passed away.
I am so glad that they finally took the plunge and got engaged!
I know Tilly said she is not able to get pregnant, but I am hoping in their future that there will be some more babies and I am sure the Gallo mom, Betty, would love to have more grand babies in the family.
AND….Vinnie got drafted in the NFL for the team he wanted to play for….Chicago….Hopefully their is a Vinnie book to come!?
Great series
” There is only you, and you’re my future”
Swoon! These Gallo men are killing me. This is the third book in the Men of Inked:Southside series. We’ve known Angelo’s story from the first book, but it doesn’t stop the tears from falling as you begin reading Hook. I think Chelle Bliss gets her energy from the tears her readers cry. This book had me ugly crying not once, not twice, but three times!! Those letters…O.M.G.
Tilly is the sweet cupcake baker who is opening up a shop next to the Gallo’s bar. Tilly is a military widow still broken over her loss. Angelo and Tilly are perfect for each other. “I think we’re too broken for other people, but together, we’re whole.” I love how Angelo and Tilly still talked about Mitchell and Marissa. They took comfort from each other & how they both understood the loss of their loved one. Adding in the comical craziness of the remaining Gallo family members and you have the magic that is Hook.
OMG Angelo and Tilly’s story was heartbreaking i crying ugly tears for these to broken souls that have lost a wife and husband,There chemistry off the charts, Through there grief they help each other heal and get a second chance at love. A MUST READ, Well done Chelle.
5 fabulous stars!
Angelo and Tilly both went through the loss of their spouse which made them have a better understanding and a deeper relationship knowing how short life can be. I loved the pace of this story and the secondary characters of the Gallo family always make me smile. Add in Tilly’s brother in law Roger and the whole set of secondary characters were amazing. I loved that Tate and Brax accepted Tilly with no resistance and that Tate encouraged her dad to find love again. Another fantastic book by Chelle Bliss!
I love all of Chelle’s books & love all the Gallo’s but this one stands above the rest (as if that was even possible). Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!! It’s going to make you laugh, cry and you will feel like you are experiencing everything Angelo & Tilly are. The book is their journey after both have lost their spouses and finding love again. The Gallo’s are an amazing family that always show their love & support of each other in the most entertaining way. What an incredible book, a definite must read!!
When is the right time to open up your shattered heart? How much time is right to honor your memories? In Hook Chelle gives the readers two shattered hearts that are ready to mend with each other. No one else can feel their pain that each other bares. Losing someone important to them from illness and the other from services. So when Angelo and Tilly meet their is an explosion of feelings all over the place. These two are finding their way to each other and a future of possibilities. Having all the support love and pushing from the Gallo’s. Stop mourning what you lost and look forward to all you’ve gained. Find happiness again. Only a few tissues needed.
Ms. Bliss knows how to bring every emotion forward so the reader feels everything. As we learned about this story, thru little snippets, I thought I would be prepared for the emotional roller coaster ride but I wasn’t.
Angelo & Tilly’s story is one I will read again & again. And you can’t help but to fall more in love with The Gallo Family. I love the protectiveness & loyalty of this family and the way this author brings their world into ours. Can’t wait to read more from this series.
4.5 STARS!!
This story truly messed up with my emotions from the very beginning, and will emotionally crush your heart as it did mine in crucial scenes that are the core of the story!!
Hook is a heart wrenching, beautifully well-written story about lost, grief, heartache, love and new beginnings. The plot is great, and the supporting characters incredible.
I’m not going into details at all because I refuse to spoil this book for anyone. Nevertheless, what I can share with you, is that this heart wrenching, emotional, enthralling and inspirational story, stole my heart. This is however, my personal and humble opinion!
All in all, this was a very enjoyable read, which I highly recommend!
I received an ARC from the author via Bare Naked Words PR in exchange for an honest review!!
Chelle Bliss turned on the waterworks with this book. As soon as I finished crying over one character, I was crying over another. The road to Angelo and Tilly’s happily ever after was filled with a ton of emotion, laughs, two adorable children, and the ultimate family!
