All Shane wanted was to get away from the wreckage of his career for a while. He picked New York City to provide him with a distraction from his early, unwanted retirement from the police force.New York City delivered, distracting him with three corpses and a miniature llama with a spitting problem and an attitude. If he wants to return to a normal life, he’ll have to face off against a sex … a sex trafficking ring targeting the woman of his dreams, ancient vampires, murderous criminals, his parents, and an FBI agent with a hidden agenda.
Some days, it isn’t easy being an ex-cop.

Loved it, have read this before awhile back but sure didn’t mind the re-read. Some of the dialog was just a little too clever and over done but it was still enormous fun.
Funniest book I have read this year!
This is one of the most imaginative, entertaining books I’ve read in years!
I laughed so much. Every time I thought it couldn’t get funnier it did. Very original.
Absolutely loved this book. Story was great and kept you interested and it was so funny
The relationship Shane has with his parents is priceless
Highly recommend
This book is amazingly light and easy to read. I loved seeing where the characters were going next.
This book was a fun read. The characters are quirky but in a sweet way, I had the hardest time putting the book down.
A fun read.
Fabulous book that kept your attention at all times!
I LOVED IT!!! I can’t wait for more.
i loved it !
I enjoyed the reading. The book did leave U hanging at the end.
I’ve read every book in this series so far, and I love them all! They can be read as standalone, but I recommend reading them in order so you can get to know the amazing world RJ has created. I was hooked from this book on. They’re all five-star winners! If you need a great laugh, a little romance, and quirky characters, this “body count” series is for you. I love them all! It’s hard to say which is my favorite…
Whatever for Hire is up there, but as I said… Love them all. Definitely worth every penny I spent!
5 stars!
Oh my gosh the characters were a hoot! The relationships kept me laughing. The action kept me turning pages. Would love to read more!
Saved it to read again.
Short, amusing, good for reading on the train.
Cute premise, nice start.
Funny, different and well written. I really enjoyed It and have been recommending it to friends.
Cute time burner.
Highly entertaining reading, if not exactly great literature. Characters are fun, if not particularly deep. This was a new subgenre to me- rom-com with werewolves and demons! Some sex, but more romp than steamy.
