I read the novella version of this in the Wanted Anthology, but this full version gave me much more, and answered some of the lingering questions I had. Tripp and Georgia are the epitome of opposites attracting like magnets! He’s the bad boy, she’s the rich good girl, but together they are amazing! Tripp is struggling so hard to help his family, he was so awesome. and Georgia was so idealistic, wanting to save the world that just wants to cruise in a holding pattern. I really enjoyed getting to know them a little more here!
I love Geri work. Hood Rat is different than her King’s of Korruption MC series but it’s nice to see authors write about a different gender.
Georgia and Tripp’s story was of two lovers living on different sides of the tracks.
Tripp is having problems with his brother and the local gang. While everything is trying to keep Georgia and Tripp apart.
I feel in love with this book and can’t wait for Zack’s story and what else Geri has in store for us. Highly recommend.
The princess and the hood rat
I read a part of Georgia and Tripp’s story in the wanted anthology that came out a few months ago. This story is basically that story but with more happening behind the scene and a more in-depth look at how two people from opposite sides of the track come together!
Really enjoyed this story and I liked how the epilogue set up the next book Can’t wait to see what Geri pulls out of her magical author’s hat for Janet and Zack….it’s sure to be epic considering his occupation, hehe
Thank you to Geri for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review.
Let’s start by saying we really enjoy this authors books and her current book Hood Rat was a purely entertaining one.
We have to say we really enjoyed it and the plot itself made made think of Bethany Kris and her Privilege and Harbor book series where two people so opposite of one another are truly meant to be together. The sorry had a cast of characters that were all so love-able.
“A princess and a hood rat, an unlikely combination if ever there was one.”
In this current story it was Georgia who got a glimpse at what life is like on a totally different spectrum than what she was used to a for once in her life it was a wake up call for her personally to put things in perceptive and take her own happiness in her hands and she starts on a path of doing whats right for her and her happiness and know one else’s.Money might make things easier in life but, in her personal circumstances it doesn’t bring love or happiness.
Tripp was one of those character’s that you can’t help fall for from the onset of the story as his love for his brothers and sister is quite endearing but, most of all we loved the lengths is was willing to go to to keep his family intact and happy.
Georgia we found her to be beautiful in side and out smart, loving, brave, fierce but, most of all she never let her families wealth change the person she was truly inside her it was something she was accustomed to but she never let it define her life.
Tripp was one sexy bad boy! We loved his inter strength, his determination, his capacity to love with one wholes heart, his protective instincts and we loved how he kept taking life’s punches and just rolled with it and just dealt with each setback in the best way he could.I loved the sacrifices his was willing to make for his brother as he really put his life on the line for his sibling.
Overall we loved this touching story about a family who no matter what was thrown their way weathered the storms as one and they truly were one close knit unit that was filled with a abundance of love.We also loved that in all life’s and down two people found happiness and solace in one another and perhaps each others soul mate in the most unlikely of places.
One thing I love about a story like this it was so easy to connect with the character’s you read about and we loved them from the onset of the story and we love when that happens.Zach was also a nice surprise and we are loving him already so we are so looking forward to his story next.
Will the player be played ? lol
Recommend read to all!
“We loved it from cover to cover !”
I could not put this book down! Seriously, I read it in one sitting! Tripp and Georgia couldn’t be more different – he’s South Side Chicago, she’s North Side. But they awaken something in each other that neither has ever had before and a quick fire is ignited. When their paths cross and Georgia becomes protective of Tripp’s brothers and sister, Tripp becomes protective of Georgia, and it all falls into place from there. The author’s vivid description of the characters’ different upbringings and their circumstances really draws you in and gives you a good perspective of who they are, why they are the way they are, and why it was so easy for them to fall in love so quickly. This was a two thumbs up read as you can usually expect from anything Geri Glenn writes, so don’t miss out!
Fabulous read, rich girl wanting to help kids less fortunate meets poor man struggling to raise his siblings and keep the bills paid. Despite money she hasn’t had a whole lot of actual love or support so in some ways she is very similar, he has the love of his siblings but raising them it’s hard to find work. I found this to be a gripping read full of angst and struggle. I read this originally in the Wanted anthology but bought it as it released on its own because it was so good and ‘re read.
I really enjoyed this book. I can’t wait for more!
I read the short story version which left me wanting more. I approached this book thinking it would be that version with some additional chapters tacked on at the end. I was wrong. There was a lot more to the story and the sequence of events were changed just a bit. I thought this version was well worth the read and I loved that Georgia and Tripp had more time together. Georgia is very easy to relate to, which I feel makes her romance with Tripp more real as well. They come from very different backgrounds but his loyalty, kindness, determination, and fierce love for his siblings draws her to him. Suddenly they aren’t two people from different sides of the tracks, they are just two people that want more out of life and find that in each other. I loved every minute of this book!
Great story! I first read this story in the Wanted Anthology and I wanted more Tripp & Georgia from the get go. They are opposites who just somehow belong together. Geri is one of my go to authors and stories like this one are why. It was told well, we got to see a realistic portrayal of people who come from different backgrounds and how they make a relationship work. I love Tripp and Georgia individually but love them more together. Also can’t wait to see where Zach’s story is going to take us.
** spoiler alert ** Tripp is determined to do whatever he has to, to protect his siblings. Georgia just wants to make a difference despite her upbringing. Their backgrounds couldn’t be more different. Will Georgia ever break free from the restraints of her family? Will Tripp get to keep the girl despite his background?
I read this book in the Wanted Anthology, but I was so excited to get an extended version. I absolutely loved Tripp and his willingness to do ANYTHING to help his family and keep those he loved safe. I loved watching Georgia slowly get a backbone and start to stand up for herself. Great read!
I absolutely loved this book! Tripp and Georgia come from completely different backgrounds. Georgia comes for a wealthy family with many privileges and Tripp is struggles to raise his siblings. Their first meeting does not go so good, but they soon start to give in to their attraction towards each other because they start to see each other in a different light. Tripp starts to see a different side of Georgia when she becomes more involved with Tripp and his family. The attraction and chemistry were very strong between them. Their story was well written. I am looking forward to Zach and Janet’s story.
this book was really good! she grew up with the rich life! he grew up poor and from the streets. he also is raising his brothers and sisters. they meet and sparks fly. only thing is she has a guy she is engaged to. read to find out who she chooses.
Hood Rat is an action packed story of a man from the wrong side of the tracks doing what he has to just to survive. When Georgia the girl from the right side of the tracks ventures into Tripp’s world, can these two see past the right and the wrong sides to feel the connection and chemistry that is brewing. A story packed with drama, inspiration, passion and love. Take a walk on the wild side with Tripp and Georgia and discover that sometimes the bad boy is really the best choice.
I absolutely loved this book!!! It was omg so so good!!! Its definitely an opposites attract type of scenario which hello I love!!! The things that Tripp does to provide for his siblings….will tug at your heartstrings. Georgia is from a rich family who never wanted for anything. She takes a job on the south side and quickly learns how different things are here. Tripp and Georgia bumped heads a lot at first but when Tripp’s brother gets involved with some bad people….they work together to help him and make sure he doesn’t end up in trouble. Two people from obviously different backgrounds shouldn’t have anything in common but they do and the more time they spend together they realize that there are feelings beyond friendship. I loved their story so much and I highly recommend this book to all. I can’t wait for Zach’s book next. Well done!!!!
