This was the first Garwood book I read many, many years ago, and I still take it out every now and again and read it. Love it!
One of my favorite romances from one of my favorite historical romance authors. This book has it all–romance, humor, strong but tender-hearted hero, courageous and gentle heroine, and vile, evil villains. Perfect romance!
Another easy popcorn read that was exactly what I expected it to be. Good book to escape into if you don’t want to think a lot or track too many things through the plot, but just to go somewhere else. I hadn’t read this one before (thought I read all her books years ago) so it was fun to get a new read from her.
Sometimes in a book, there is a scene so poignant that you remember it long after the rest of the book has faded in your memory. This is such a book. When Madelyne warms the frozen feet of The Wolf, it is a moment you won’t forget. HIGHLY recommend.
Julie Garwood books are great and this one is no exception!
One of my all time favorites. I have read it again and again.
Julie Garwood writes such spunky heroines and hunky heroes that are totally swoon worthy, even when they are trying hard not to be. I just love everything about her books, but this one is my all-time favorite!
Loved the characters. I love that the heroine takes care of herself.
I was captivated by this book. I read it as though I was watching a movie through the words. Each sentence was an anticipation to the next one. Each chapter unfolded a heart warming story between a man and a woman. Both lead characters, Duncan and Madelyne held strong from beginning to end.
The story had a sense of humor along with romance and …
Loved the hero and his family.
This was probably my third or fourth re-read of one of my old time favorites. Last read in 2013. It’s one of those great historicals by Garwood that you can pull out and have an enjoyable read when you can’t find anything else that suits you. Of course you have to be a fan of historical romance set in medieval times to enjoy this one.
Julie Garwood is at the top of my must read authors. I have read most of her stories multiple times. I have been reading her work for many years and she just gets better.
Set in a more barbaric time for England, one baron seeks revenge for the rape of his sister. Madeline, an innocent, gets caught in the middle.
I enjoy reading all of her historical novels!

Spectacular! Gritty, yet gripping story that I didn’t want to put down.
