A humorous and heartwarming small town romance. Reese Patton tells the story of a woman on the run with a secret that could destroy the town of Copperwood, and the broody cop tasked with keeping the woman and his town safe.Jake Leighton had a plan: graduate high school, serve his country, and marry his high school sweetheart. Eight years later, Army vet Jake comes home divorced to take up work as … up work as a police officer.
No relationships. Never again. That’s the rule until he’s thrown together with a woman who’s everything he needs and wants.
Kera Fontaine escaped from her controlling father to Copperwood, but driving across half the country wasn’t far enough. Taking over her father’s company seems like the ultimate declaration of independence. Then she falls for him. Her unwilling protector who’s determined to spend his life alone. Her unexpected hero with a badge and the most stubborn heart ever. Her forever she can’t have.
Some decisions are worth the consequences and some futures are worth the unspoken promises.
Will Kera find her small town paradise with Jake?

Kera has decided that pleasing her father is an impossible task so needing some distance and a fresh start she decides to visit the family that will understand what she has been through.
Jake has a background in the military and now serves his country as a policeman. When Kera comes to town she is everything he doesn’t want but for some reason he can’t stay away especially when they need to work together for the greater good.
This is a sweet romance about family, love and new beginnings.
Kera Fontaine, the last daughter standing has left home. Her dad misogynistic and cruel has made her run. Jake is a cop from Cooperwood who will have to deal with the spitfire woman. Will she warm his heart or make him close up even more? The plot was interesting and with her family, friends and specially her grandpa it’s all about love and revenge 🙂 I enjoyed it very much.

Book three in the Copperwood series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Jake Leighton and Kera Fontaine’s story I found myself smiling as I read this book. I wonder if there is going to be more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The good storyline and the wonderful characters kept me totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
Another entertaining book to the Copperwood series. The author brings Jake and Kera together and sets them off on an interesting journey toward their HEA but not before overcoming a few obstacles along the way. The supporting characters help to bring the story around. The story moves fluidly and is an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This book had so much potential but fell short on several points. Having received an ARC AFTER it came back from the proofreader I was quickly disenchanted by the enormous amount of typo’s/missing words/wrong words, etc. Then when an entire book focuses on one main plot line that is completely washed over and never resolved by the end I was left seriously confused, plus there were a couple of other issues in the story line that fizzled before they were completed or addressed that all left me wanting more.
Kera Fontaine just packed what she could fit into her sports car and drove out of town after the last straw with her father. He will never see her for the brilliant, educated woman she has become and she is sick of living under his thumb. Heading to the small town of Copperwood where her sister lives seemed like a reasonable choice but after her father nearly destroyed the town the residents may not be too happy to see her. But it seems her father may have set the small town up for a final blow and Kera may be the only one who can save it, if she can get them to trust her.
The last thing Jake Leighton wants in his sleepy little town is drama and certainly not in the tiny little package that is Kera Fontaine. As a local policeman and high school resource officer he likes his life quiet and simple. Kera is anything but, and it seems trouble has followed her in a most troublesome way. It isn’t long before Jake is determined to help the little spit fire any way he can.
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

Isobel is the governor’s daughter, Sax is the member of a motorcycle club. Her father wants her to be the ideal daughter. Good romance. Good read. Love this series.
