Anything is possible in Silverlake, Texas when love takes the reins… Rhett Braddock swore to himself that he’d never return to Silverlake. But when the opportunity arises to buy a piece of his lost, happier youth, he’s drawn to the community–and the family–he once loved. Mending fences might not be as hard as he thought–until he ends up in bed with his best friend’s sister. Julianna Holt is … sister.
Julianna Holt is over Rhett Braddock. So what if he’s a self-made billionaire? His less than flattering dash the morning after they spent the night together made it clear he wants nothing to do with her. Besides, she has her horses and the Holt stables to save.
So when Rhett buys the Holt property as a favor to her brother, Jules makes him feel as welcome as a skunk at a garden party … but is it possible that Rotten Rhett isn’t so rotten after all? Or is the Texas heat melting her resolve to hate him?

Oh, it was good to get back to Silverlake…
Rhett was back. Finally. It was business but his family was still there. Brothers, sister and a home he would have given everything to return to. Years ago. That time was past but why he left was still between them… Oh, and Julianna too. And she may not be that happy to see him… LOL, no, he had that right! She had pined for him for years and after pulling the rug out from under her she had nothing left for him anymore. If only it were that simple…
Cowboys and family and oh the complications and drama! I admit, I may have shed a tear or two but I also laughed out loud at the antics of the firemen and the interesting characters that make up the Braddocks family and their hometown. Not all was fun and games. I ached for Julianna and parents that seemed to live in the Stone Age. Honestly, I had to check the calendar and make sure of the date… The back and forth between these two was a mix of heart zingers and hilarity, even if the drama seemed a bit forced at times.
Overall, I really enjoyed their story – with an ending that was sweet and just perfect. I’m hoping Deck is up next but honestly, I’m just looking forward to another return visit…

I loved Rhett Braddock & Julianna Holt’s book!! It had all the feels, it made me laugh & oh did it make me cry!! My heart just broke for Rhett near the end of the book. I also liked seeing the recurring characters from Jake & Charlie’s book but didn’t care for Jules mother & how she treated Jules. Also, her family should of told her Rhett was buying their property instead of just disregarding her (and her ideas). Jules could be childish & immature at times but was absolutely responsible when it came to working as stable manager & taking care of the horses (along with her rescue donkey & dog). This book is about Rhett & Jules journey to their HEA and Rhett mending his relationship with his family. I know Ace Braddock’s book is next but poor Declan “Deck” Braddock deserves his HEA. I highly recommend this book and series!!
I received an ARC from the authors and this is my voluntary, honest review. I’m not a big romance reader but this book is not all mushy-gushy like most romance books. I absolutely loved this book. The writing is fabulous with great details so even if you’ve not read the previous book you know what’s going on. The character descriptions are outstanding, I feel like I can actually see the face of the person and their scowl. I look forward to reading many more of Liza Kendall’s books. I highly recommend to all who enjoy a very well written romance. Enjoy!
Way to start off on the wrong foot! Rhett Braddock really screwed up when he left Julianna “Jules” Holt in bed after a one-night-stand. Rhett doesn’t know what got into him. (Umm… lust, attraction, maybe something more) He should never have slept with his best friend Grady’s little sister. But he can’t get her off of his mind and would like a repeat, many repeats. No, can’t. Grady’s little sister.
Now Rhett has compounded his “sin” in Jules’ eyes. Jules’ dad has cancer and has medical procedures, probably chemo and lots of medical bills ahead of him. Grady talks Rhett into purchasing the Holt property where Jules manages the horse business to mitigate some of the financial stress. But, hey, Jules has a job there guaranteed. It’s in the contract. Too bad no one gave Jules a heads-up about her dad’s cancer or the sale of the property right away. She now has been told about all this and is hurt, mad and concerned about her dad. Maybe she might have been able to deal a lot better with the whole situation if the Holt property hadn’t been sold to the Devil, Rhett Braddock.
Jules and Rhett seem to have a love-hate thing going. Their familes and the town of Silverlake decide to see what they can do about that. Despite misconceptions, Aunt Sue’s negativity and a few fistfights Jules and Rhett finaly talk honestly with each other and Bingo!
Home With You by Liza Kendall is the second book in her Silverlake Ranch series. The first book in the series, Walk Me Home, was the first book written by Liza Kendall I read and I was hooked. I love her voice. This story as well as the first book in the series includes all the hallmarks I look for in a good small town romance. This includes well-developed characters, lots of meaninful dialogue, a clear-cut conflict and resolution, warm family togetherness(although some conflict within the family that is resolved sucessfuly is great.), caring town characters and it never hurts to throw in special pets. I really loved this story and I look forward to the next book in the series, Hometown Hero.
Have you ever read a book that pulled out of you every emotion you could feel? Well, this is one of those books for me. I’m going to try my hardest to review this book without giving to much about the book away. I have when reviewers give you big plot points.
If you’ve read the first book in this series you know that this family, the Braddock’s have some issues. All is not happy in their world. By the second book, it almost seems worse. Which is one of the reasons I felt so much reading it! I spent a lot of time yelling at the characters. Ha! I know that seems horrible but for me, it makes for a good book. Life is messy and oftentimes confusing.
I really liked Rhett. There was just something about him. Part of me wanted to give him a hug and the other part of a slap upside the head. His past wasn’t always a happy one but it did form him. He at times came off as being a big shot but he really wasn’t that way. In fact, he is a very caring person who doesn’t like to admit to his own feels. He wants so badly to have people care about him and feels they don’t. With good reason.
I really at times had an issue with Julianna. She could rub me wrong. I felt the way she treated Rhett was so wrong, It’s not his fault her family didn’t believe in her. To be honest I don’t know how she dealt with her family and the way they treated her like she was a child. But that aside it wasn’t a reason to treat Rhett like she did.
I did like how the people in this story started to work out their issues. Things came out and were dealt with. I know I might have made it sound like I didn’t like this book but that’s far from what I felt. I really loved it. I enjoy when authors bring real issues into their books and make you pissy about it.
I can’t wait to read the next one and I would have to say that when you read this series do so in order. It makes the stories better. Drop me a line when you’ve read this one and let me know what you thought of it.
