I am so in love with this series!
I devour every word this author writes and she never ceases to amaze me with the humor and depth of feelings she writes. I laughed so many times during this book. Ida Sue cracks me up constantly! And the crap she puts Green through is hilarious!
Kage is one of my favorite characters to date by this author (though I think I say that a lot, because she just keeps amazing me). She has been through a lot in her short life but she is strong and loyal, and she is definitely tenacious!
There were a few times I really wanted to smack Green upside his head. But I think that has been a recurring theme in this series with the Lucas boys!
If you are looking for a book with a great story and lots of laughter and tears this is the book for you!!!
Jordan Marie is a queen! I absolutely LOVED this book. Not that I expected anything different from her, but this is a definite must read.
Well, author Jordan Marie did it again. These characters had me laughing and holding my sides. The crayon brood is messy, funny, broody but most of all lovable. I love reading a book that has me laughing and smiling days, months later just thinking about the book. Thank You Author Jordan Marie for bringing a smile to my face.
It boggles the mind how an author, who is dealing with so many personal challenges brought about by the pandemic, can churn out a wonderful story sure to give readers their own respite in the pages of a book.
And yet that is what Jordan Marie has done, once again, with Home Run. Home Run is Green and Kage’s story. If you are familiar with the Lucas brothers, you know that you will definitely enjoy this one. If you are new to the world of the crayon boys? Well, this is as good a time as any to start.
Head’s up, dear reader, once you get to know Ida Sue and her brood, you won’t want to stop reading Jordan Marie’s work!
“It makes me wish…” “Wish what, Poppy?” she asks. I swallow, suddenly feeling a lot of emotion myself. “I wish that I had been lucky enough to have a mother like you.” This is Kage, talking to Ida Sue, and hands down my favorite dialogue in the book. I hope it gets to be yours, too.
What a treat this story is. It’s the sixth book in the Lucas Brothers Series from Jordan Marie and it was another cracker. This is Green and Kage’s story and I loved it all. Jordan has a way of having you laughing full on one minute and then punching you in the heart with the feels the next. Green’s mum, Ida Sue is funny AF and comes out with all the lines like…. If you use the Lord’s name in vain, Green, I will cut off that appendage between your legs that you’re so fond of. I love her, she’s hilarious. Green hates Kage at the start but can’t understand the pull he has towards her. He’s had a couple of awful relationships in the past and has been burned badly, but he wants Kage and can’t ignore that. She is younger in age but has had to grow up fast and is wise beyond her years. She’s down on her luck when Ida Sue gives her a hand up and she can’t believe that this is her life. She tries so hard to guard her heart from Green but ultimately she just can’t deny her feelings. This is a story with plenty of push and pull, misunderstandings, fk ups, chasing, dating and eventually a lovely HEA. Well worth your time and so nice to see some of the other brothers and sisters making appearances.
As always Jordan has written another freaking awesome book. I love how she continues to pull you in, make you laugh and simple just love what she writes. In Homerun we get Green and Kage’s story. While it doesn’t start off great and that’s putting it nicely (you will have to read to see what I mean, sorry no spoilers from me-I hate them in a review). I’m not sure which person I love more in this book Green, Kage of the colorful Mama of the bunch Ida Sue, I just might have to say it’s Ida Sue, you never know what’s gonna come spilling out from her. I have no idea where Jordan gets it all from and I’m not going to complain or ask, I’m going to just continue to enjoy her stories. As always once you start a Jordan Marie book you can’t put it down. Her books this one included has made me late for work on several occasions and I simply don’t care, this book was worth it 100%!!! I love Green and Kage and I was sad to see the book end, thankfully I know I will see more
Of them in future books. As will Ida Sue and her cow!!! Love it. Thank you so much Jordan, I freaking love you and your words. You have made a bad day not so bad while I’m lost in hour books. I look forward to reading your books. Homerun was definitely a knock out of the park GREAT. I highly recommend this book. So thank you so very much Jordan!!! Now folks instead of me telling you how great of a story teller she is and how awesome this book is, just go one click and get to reading and if you don’t want to be late for what ever you have to do, wait to start reading cause of not you will be late!!! Another 5 star read, wish I could give more stars, it definitely was a out of the park read!!!
Green and Kage meet under very unfavorable circumstances. Kage has had a very rough life, and has done things she isn’t proud of to take care of her brother. Green has had struggles of his own, but they mostly deal with the women he has let into his life. When his mother comes across Kage in a bad situation, she steps in and takes her and her brother under her wing. Green can be sweet and caring, but he has a lot of trust issues. Kage has some of her own and when they meet again she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Will they be able to get past everything against them to make a life with each other or will the obstacles in their way be too much to overcome? This book has a pretty large age difference which isn’t my favorite, but I enjoyed this read.
Kage and Green’s story was beautiful, humorous, sexy and all around amazing book for me. These characters had all the elements of a great story. Kage takes care of Russ (Russ is the only family Kage knows). They both were raised in foster care and escaped from an abusive circumstances while in foster care. Kage is nineteen and the only one able to work. She takes care of Russ who is fourteen and is like a brother to her. Russ is diabetic and confined to a wheelchair. Kage works provide for the basic essentials of life and to pay for Russ’ insulin (which is quite expensive). Kage and Russ have to work side hustles/con games to make ends meet. They are conflicted about this but do what they have to do to survive. Green and Kage meet at bar and have the most magical night of her life. After last loosing her virginity to Green and letting her guard down for once in her life, she thought that Green may be her knight in shining armor. Reality hits the next day and miscommunications brings Kage’s guard up once again. Then when she thinks things could not get any worse she’s fired from her job at the diner but an angel at the diner offers her,not only a job & a place to stay but a new beginning in a different town. She’s finally thinks she’s on solid ground until she meets Green again in a awkward situation. She cannot forget passionate memories of that night and Green cannot deny the intense sexual attraction. Throw in Green’s “colorful” siblings and of course Green’s mom, the remarkable Ida Sue & Ida Sue’s love of her life Jansen this story has EVERYTHING!!!’ Absolutely love it!!!
Another fun and entertaining story. The more I read about the Lucas family the more I fall in love with them. Each one pull your heartstrings. I love the connection, the banter and the flying sparks. Not to be missed. Everyone needs a little bit of color in their lives.
What can I say!! I absolutely love this series!! Ida Sue is one of my favorite characters. This is Green and “Poppy” love story. Green, oh how I wanted to smack you up side your head but once you got it together I was rooting for you. I love how Poppy didn’t take his shit and made him work for it. Together they had one great love story with lots of laugh out loud moments. Another excellent book to add to this great series. Can’t wait for the next one.
Loved it I have loved the Lucas family since Jordan first wrote The Perfect Stroke. This family is endearing, sweet and so darn funny but if you get on the wrong side of momma Sue or do something to hurt her children, you’ll be one sorry sad sack. In this book we meet Kage, she’s a young woman, determined to survive and care for the young boy she’s claimed as a little brother. I love how each son is named for a colour in this family. Jordan just has so much creativity it blows my mind. I loved Green, how he handles his momma, Ida Sue and the rocky relationship with Kage. I just can’t get enough and now I’m going to start at the beginning and read the whole series again. Congratulations Jordan, this is one of my fav series. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author and purchased a copy as well
I never want the Lucas brothers to end. Ida Sue is a strong woman., A hoot, a loving mother, and someone I want to know personally. Green and Kade meet one night that was passion filled and helped fill a lonely whole. Neither thought they would see each other again but well fate or rather Ida Sue has other ideas.
Green you beautiful underrated soul, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like you. You did grow on me though.
Kade you beautiful person. I loved you almost instantly. Life has not treated you kindly, but you haven’t let that stop you from taking care of yourself and your foster brother.
These two had so much chemistry that Green should have picked up on the fact that Kade was perfect for him. But let’s be honest he is man and needed a few love taps along the way to make him realize that Kade isn’t a bad person, life has just delt her a bad hand.
This book had me rolling on the floor laughing. Ida Sue is the kind of momma I want to be. She has her kids completely head over heels and willing to do anything for there momma. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I wanted more, but most of all I feel in love with the Lucas family all over again. I hope they never end.
I absolutely loved this book.
Can’t get enough of the Lucas family.
Loads of fun and spice through out.
I laughed and cried in all the right places.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
from an advanced reader copy.
This is the 6th book in this phenomenal series and what an amazing story Green and Kage’s is! Kage and Green have a one-night stand and he did not expect her to appear in his life again. I loved Ida Sue and her crazy antics. But will she be able to work her magic on these two? No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written tale which is fun, entertaining, humorous, and filled with witty banter and family love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.
Jordan Marie outdid herself with this book! I loved every page.
I loved love Ida Sue and her ecclactic family. The warmness of family drama will pull you with love. Green Lucas was a famous sportman.. confused with bad luck with women. Kage, the damsel in distress.. I had more smiles with IdaSue with her Mama-Bear magics. Home Run was a light-weight read and I dont want to potentially expose some spoilers..
Another great Lucas Brothers book, things begin not so good with Kage and Green, alot of misinterpretations on both ends. Ida Sue comes to the rescue for Kage and Russ, Ida Sue gets frustrated with yet another son (which always is a humorous situation), Ida Sue matchmaking always unique, just love Ida Sue’s shenanigans. Green’s story is fantastic and was so happy to see his story end up being wonderful, he deserved a HEA and it’s always wonderful seeing the Lucas siblings mention in the book, although I would love to see Gray and CC mention more (hint, hint) in future books.
Once again the characters in this authors head are a force to be reckoned with. First of all who wouldn’t ever wanna be Ida Sue. The epitome of a phenomenal mother and woman that we should all strive to be with the humor. Green is a good man that knows not what he do but in hindsight who he should be! Kage OMG this woman is a survivor and does what she can for Russ her son in every way possible. This book is no hold barred and I believe I’m better for having read it. This author puts her blood sweat and tears into each and every story she writes and it shows. There isn’t anything I haven’t read that wasn’t short of exceptional and this wonderfully told story is no different. Check it out I promise it’s that good!!!!
Well folks here we go with another crew member from our beautiful Ida Sue. Green is one of the oldest brothers and has found himself in quite a pickle. And if you’ve read about any of the other family members, such as White & Kayla, Grey & CC, Luka & Petal, and even Ida Sue & Jansen, you’ll know this is one crazy bunch of messed up folks !! I love every one of them. Kage is a young lady with the world on her shoulders and Green is not making her journey any easier. But she does a GREAT job of kneeing Green in the base-balls, when he needs it. Thank You Ms. Jordan for keeping us guessing on what Ida Sue is up to. Another wonderful read ya’ll !!
I ALWAYS WANT MORE OF THE CRAYON GANG
I can never buy and read a book by this author fast enough…and especially a Lucas Brothers book…This family is just the best…And we always get more of Ida Sue, which is ALWAYS, ALWAYS a good thing…..This author’s sense of humor is so on point…I always think Ida Sue may actually be Jordan Marie….
So, Green House Lucas….you gotta love Ida Sue’s (Jordan’s) name choices….Green is a divorced, single father and MLB player coming to the end of his career due to age and injuries with a teenage son and a clingy addict for an ex…..We all know Ida Sue is not a passive mother, so, she sets Green up on a dating site, and starts setting him up with dates…He’s told they are “friends of friends”….While he is making a hasty retreat from a date with “Bob Marley” he is unknowingly pickpocketed….and doesn’t figure out how until later….
Nineteen year old Kage has been kicked in the teeth by life….She is raising her 14 year old diabetic, wheel-chair bound, foster brother outside of the scope of CPS, and she is working herself to death to supply his physical and medical needs….Because her waitress job doesn’t pay enough, she and Russ have to, occasionally, run cons on unsuspecting people….and Green Lucas is the last con she runs….
Kage already knows Green Lucas…..But Green was so drunk the night he took Kage’s virginity, he only remembers bits and pieces…plus he had his manager kick her out the next day….so Kage doesn’t have warm and fuzzies for Green to begin with…….When Ida Sue overhears Kage’s boss at the diner firing Kage, Ida Sue takes Kage and Russ home with her… (not knowing Kage picked Green’s pocket)….When Green sees Kage working in his family’s restaurant, all h#ll breaks loose….and it is fantastic….
HOME RUN is EXACTLY what we’ve come to expect from Jordan Marie…Great characters, with lots of chemistry…both primary and secondary….Great Story….Lots of Humor…Lots of Heat….A bit of angst…..and an HEA…..Sometimes, I feel like I take Jordan Marie’s books for granted…I’m never shocked at how freaking good they are…..
