My name is Kendall Carrington—or so I thought.
One night, a routine traffic stop turned the world I thought I knew upside down. I wasn’t who I thought I was. No one was. I had been kidnapped when I was young, and everything I had been told was all a lie. But the lies didn’t end there. If it hadn’t been for Lincoln Hunt, I might not have ever found out the truth.
My real name is Danielle … is Danielle Tucker.
This is my story of pain, betrayal, and finding the true meaning of home.

After reading EMINENT LOVE by Leddy Harper, I knew I would want to read more books by this author. I picked HOME NO MORE as the 2nd book that I would read. This is the story of Kendall Carrington/Danielle Tucker. As a young child, Kendall had been kidnapped and raised by a loving father figure John Carrington. He gave her a loving home. But it was isolated and she was never to leave there. To stay protected within the walls of his home. She had a brother figure, that was older by five years named Billy. These two were her family and she thought that this was a happy home. When John suddenly died of a heart attack, Kendall went to live with Billy. Billy had never felt like a brother. When he brought her to live with him, all her love was turned toward him, and he became her new home.
One night, a routine traffic stop turned the world she thought she had known upside down. She suddenly wasn’t who she thought she was, but neither was anyone else. She was not Kendall Carrington, and hadn’t yet turned 18 like she had been told. So was placed in a home with her legal Grandma, and torn away from all she had ever known. Even not allowed to have contact with Billy. She was devastated. Just wanted to be left alone until she reached the eighteenth birthday that they all claimed hadn’t come yet.
Kendall was one lost soul, who wanted nothing to do with being Danielle Tucker, that is until she met Lincoln Hunt, and once again her entire world changed. This is a story of pain, betrayal, and finding the true meaning of home.
The story was very interesting from the very start. Kendall/Danielle was such a frustrating character. She was raised in an unusual environment. Was very young, but still she would frustrate a saint. She would love to blame all mistakes and mishaps on others, and cried a ton of tears. She never realized how reckless her telling many lies would backfire, nor how damaging they would become. Twist and turns galore to this book, but a satisfying ending.
I’m intrigued by the beginning so far. One chapter in and I’m hooked. I can tell this is going to be captivating because of the mysterious way it’s written. The writing is very good. This story deals with the fear of rejection and one girls struggle to find herself.
The story feels so therapeutic.
Kendall’s life has been a lie. Billy is a smart guy who wants Kendall to learn the truth and to take the time to find herself before choosing to come back to him.
Trying to figure out why Kendall is so blasé about life. Once Kendall is away from the sheltered life she lived she gains new perspective on how she lived her life. For the first time she is questioning her life choices as something that might not be considered acceptable behavior or normal behavior. Here lies the question does Kendall care to fit into what society considers to be acceptable behavior or is what she craves acceptable enough for her? Another question is what is love and when you do know you are in love? This story dealt with many different types of love.
The grey area in life that I come to appreciate. Life is not as black and white as we make it out to be. One persons wrong and another persons wrong does not equate to another wrong. It works but does not fit into the laws of what’s considered right from wrong. A conundrum.
Nothing is what it seems. You think you understand a person then realize you really do not. You have to look at everything in life from so many different perspectives to gain clarity on a situation. It becomes vague.
I like that this story reads like it was not made up. The details are fantastic. It’s cleverly written.
Kendall’s isolation of her life has made her ignorant to the outside world. I like that Kendall talks to a therapist who helps her open her eyes to other possibilities in life. I like Link who for as young as he is acts so mature when faced with Kendall’s drama. I like that Link made Danielle feel whole and helped her find home.
This is my first ever read by Leddy Harper and while stalking her Amazon profile page I was drawn to read Home No More. The synopsis was more than enough to pique my interest so I couldn’t resist and had to one click.
Guys what can I say other than MY. MIND. WAS. COMPLETELY. BLOWN.
This is story like no other. A rare treat that had me holding my breath at every turn, so afraid to turn the page in fear of what was going to happen next.
My heart broke so many times reading it. Kendall completely captured my heart and soul. I could only imagine the pain, hurt and confusion that she felt trying to find not only herself but her home. Trying to find her place in the world was confronting, raw and at times hard to read but I couldn’t put it down. I was consumed by Kendall and her heartbreaking story. Her struggles, thoughts, fears and pain were so real that it was almost as though I could feel every emotion.
And Lincoln. Lordy this man. I fell in love with him instantly. Such a beautiful human that opened his heart even knowing that the outcome could have been heartbreak. A man willing to wait patiently to help Kendall break the cycle of her torment.
I’m not sure about Billy. I’m not sure how I feel about him. A man who loved whole heartedly, but yet managed to destroy a soul without really ever realizing it.
Kendall, Lincoln and Billy’s story is one that I recommend everyone to read. A truly beautiful novel that shows that there is always light to be found amongst so much darkness.
