For a chance at a future filled with love, he’ll have to face a painful past. Eric, recently dumped by his boyfriend, is summoned home after his dad suffers a stroke. His family farm in rural Vermont holds memories he’d rather forget, but he–with his degree in agricultural business–is needed to clear up a predicament with the bank. In trying to forget the bad, Eric has also lost sight of the … of the good: green meadows dotted with grass-fed dairy cows and the sugar maples that once produced the area’s finest maple syrup. With Eric’s help, they will again.
A captivating farmhand named Phil tempts Eric to give the countryside another chance, but before they can consider being together, Eric must move past more than his feelings for his ex-boyfriend–he’ll need to stand up to the ghosts that sent him running from the farm in the first place….

What a sweet m/m romance. You get the 2 different points of view… Eric who was out in the open about being gay and Phil who kept his being gay a secret for most of his young life. These Eric didn’t know anything about Phil until he was called home after his dad had a minor stroke. So he had to go back to the farm and face all of the past humiliation and try to move on. Really loved this story!
If you are looking for a very cute read, this is your book! As long as you don’t mind m/m.
Eric has a past that keeps him from seeing the beauty his family’s farm has become. Living in a small town as a gay kid isn’t easy. Now Eric is being asked to return to help with the family business after his father suffers a stroke. The call couldn’t have come at a better time after Eric’s boyfriend breaks up with him and lets him know he was nothing but a friends-with-benefits.
Phil has helped out with the Bevington farm for the past 5 years, but his parents worked there all through his high school years. During this time Phil has watched and developed feelings for Eric that he kept secret all these years. But now Eric and back and Phil might just see his chance to see where things will go with Eric.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s not often I find m/m books that I enjoy. I’m actually quite picky on which of these I do read, so this was a pleasant surprise!
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. This was a gay romance that was very believable go to situations and the characters. I have read a few gay romances and I feel like this one showed a true picture of what it be growing up gay and living with it out in the open like Eric did or keeping it secret like Phil did. This was such a sweet romance story between the two although it wasn’t all roses and Candy they still had their ups and downs just like any other couple. I also really like the small-town aspect of the story. I would recommend this story and I’ll also be looking into seeing what other books this author has in the future.
Sweet story of love and healing.
Sometimes you have to leave home. Just to see the beauty of what you left. A visit back may show you the love you needed all along.

This is a sweet read that revolves around family and love on a maple sugar farm . The characters are well written . Eric is your typical guy that is gay . He has been bullied his whole life . There are things that have happened that he has hid from everyone even his parents . He is sweet sometimes too sweet . He does do a change around towards the end of the book . He becomes a stronger character who finally figures out that he can’t do everything alone and he needed help . Phil is sweet character I really liked Phil . He didn’t go through everything that Eric did but he did hide until after high school . He is shy but you see him come out of his shell through out the book .
The book is a fast read that you can read in just over and hour . I liked the sweetness of the relationship and how the author brought them together . There was one thing that drove me crazy was the using the word stud being over used as a term of affection . There are other words the author could of used also . Over all I did like the story and the characters . So if you want a sweet m/m story that will have you shed a few tears and the feeling of wanting to hug everyone . This is the book for you .
