All Willow Wells wanted was a fresh start. After a divorce that left her a dog trainer with no dogs to train, inheriting her Aunt’s property (complete with a downtrodden dog gym) seemed like the answer to her prayers. That is until the first day of excavation uncovers a dead local real estate mogul, and pins her current contractor as the lead suspect. With his funds frozen, and with no way to … way to return Willow’s money, contractor Griffin Maynard has no choice but to join forces with his high school crush who also happens to be his current client—new arrival Willow Wells. Together they must find the real murderer and get construction back underway before both of their businesses go bottom up.
But as they follow the trail of town gossip, Willow and Griffin discover more buried secrets than they first thought, and time is running out to solve this murder before they lose everything.

Good
Good read
Cute. Kids love!
It’s OK – having a hard time getting through it as it’s a bit predictable.
Anyone that like dogs will enjoy this book.
I loved this book. It kept me up late finishing because I couldn’t wait to see who did it. All clues pointed to the contractor, and they had to work hard to find out who really did commit the murder. I would recommend this book for a quick cozy read.
I like books that keep me interested
This. book was excellent . I loved it, could not put it down. Your usual murder & that little romance, all together, this book was great.
Enjoyed characters and setting
I enjoyed the characters, especially Willow. A very nicely written cozy that had enough of a whodunnit to keep my interest. The best part of the book, though, was the interesting characters.
managed to twist the plot a bit but fairly predictable.
Really cute book, enjoyed it immensely.
Even though the story was a murder mystery there was an innocence to the way it was written. I enjoyed reading it and the dog was super cute
Great characters – including a dog and a cat who thinks she’s a dog – and a nicely complicated plot! A great read!
Great characters and whodunnit.
I enjoyed it very much.
Willow, recently divorced, moves back to her hometown to take possession of the house her Aunt Edna left her. Willow’s dream is to develop a dog gym and training facility, but that is derailed when a dead body is found on her property and her contractor is the chief suspect. Willow decides to investigate, and her three-legged rescue dog, Telescope, is helpful in identifying good guys and bad guys. Willow’s father is the police chief, so he is against Willow’s investigations. Her sister Wednesday, however, is an enthusiastic supporter. This cozy mystery is simple and uncomplicated but also fun! It includes a cat named Rover because the cat thinks she’s a dog. A fun book to read.
Loved the book.
I love that the dog Telescope takes a lead role in the book. I look forward to following all the characters in the rest of the series.
A fun cozy and great start to a series. I love the characters (Willow, Wednesday, and Griffin) and their interaction with one another but I fell in love with the little chihuahua Telescope. Telescope is a tri-paw but he doesn’t let his disability slow him down. The mystery is well-written with a few twists along the way. I have already started book two, I can’t wait to see how the relationships develop and how the progress on the Doggie Gym turns out.
I voluntarily agreed to read a copy of this book supplied by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.
