All Willow Wells wanted was a fresh start. After a divorce that left her a dog trainer with no dogs to train, inheriting her Aunt’s property (complete with a downtrodden dog gym) seemed like the answer to her prayers. That is until the first day of excavation uncovers a dead local real estate mogul, and pins her current contractor as the lead suspect. With his funds frozen, and with no way to … way to return Willow’s money, contractor Griffin Maynard has no choice but to join forces with his high school crush who also happens to be his current client—new arrival Willow Wells. Together they must find the real murderer and get construction back underway before both of their businesses go bottom up.
But as they follow the trail of town gossip, Willow and Griffin discover more buried secrets than they first thought, and time is running out to solve this murder before they lose everything.

Stella St. Claire has even made a chihauhau appear to be an engaging companion. I’ve always considered this breed to be to vocal and energetic, traits I don’t like in creatures with whom I share a living space.
I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful book. I loved the main characters and the sweet chihuahua, Tele.
Simplistic, needs more plot complexity and character development. I will not finish the book and will remove it from my list
Easy read and keeps your interest.
actually didn’t finish.
Willow and her pet dog Telescope are moving to her hometime Pineview for a new start after her divorce. Only to discover a dead body. Fast paced, cutesy names, with cutesy career dreams, and diverse characters that are innocent or not. A keeper.
Home is Where the Bark Is, by Stella St. Claire is a book that combines humor with the pathos of the human condition, life events that are out of control of an individual, and the consistent question of “Whodunit” that keeps one reading. A very enjoyable book.
Predictable but cute. Enjoyed.
While the reader will be quicker than the characters to figure out who the murder is, it’s still a good read that keeps one going. I enjoyed the pets even though they weren’t quite real.
Pretty much a fluff. Easy quick read.
Parts of this book were fairly predictable. Another young, unarmed woman thinks she can solve a murder better than the police, putting herself in harm’s way. But the dog adds cuteness to the story.
Cute
Its worth reading
on your seat in giggles and suspense.. a wonderful whodunit with great characters….
Pages missing and a lot of blank pages.
Good life hearted mystery
This was a nice read… fairly predictable but entertaining on a rainy day.
A nice short escape from the world in this one.
Cute easyread
Great plot with an unusual reason for wanting the mystery solved ASAP. As the plot thickened, I had no clue until the author was ready to reveal all. Super ending.
