THE INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERTen years after the high-profile kidnapping of two young boys, only one returns home in Harlan Coben’s gripping Myron Bolitar thriller.A decade ago, kidnappers grabbed two boys from wealthy families and demanded ransom, then went silent. No trace of the boys ever surfaced. For ten years their families have been left with nothing but painful memories and a … nothing but painful memories and a quiet desperation for the day that has finally, miraculously arrived: Myron Bolitar and his friend Win believe they have located one of the boys, now a teenager. Where has he been for ten years, and what does he know about the day, more than half a life ago, when he was taken? And most critically: What can he tell Myron and Win about the fate of his missing friend? Drawing on his singular talent, Harlan Coben delivers an explosive and deeply moving thriller about friendship, family, and the meaning of home.

as the reader, we know how close they have come to finding win’s nephew alive, but life deals you lemons……
I am a fan of Harlan Coben. His books are always entertaining, full of suspense, witty, intriguing, not gory, page turner and unpredictable. I wish I had money to donate to his charities!
I always enjoy this authors books. This one wasn’t as interesting to me as earlier books.
I
I’m a Coben fan and he doesn’t disappoint. You’re hoping for a fairytale ending in a cruel world.
I didn’t put it down until I finished it. I can sleep tomorrow.
Two 6 year old boys are kidnapped from wealthy families. There is a mix up and the ransom is never claimed. Ten years later Myron Bolitar (not altogether a realistic character) discovers one of the teens and sets out to bring him back. The boy is now 16 years old. Further investigation turns up some strange coincidences in the depth of foreign criminal operations. After some explosive action, further investigation and some nation skipping, the teen is brought home, but is unable to shed any light on what happened to his friend. A visit to a childhood location brings back some vivid scenes to the boy. After a tragic event, and an unexpected twist, the mystery is finally solved. Well and cogently written, and worth the read if you love good mysteries.
It’s a very good book, but I love all of Harlan Coben’s books! It’s not my favorite book by him, but it’s a very good read!
Corbin has a couple of characters with Win and Molitar but this one was slow in plot development and not one o f his best efforts in the series. I d on l y give it a C+.
I enjoyed it, good beach reading
It had twists I never expected and of course he has never wrote a bad book and the ending is never what you expect.
Excellent book. Every Harlan Coben novel is a worthy read.
Hillerman is always a good read.
Myron and Winn are back at it. The beginning grabs you and the rest of Coben’s plot and irreverent repartee between two close friends will not let you go.
Highly entertaining.
Five star as usual.
It had it’s moments and I liked the characters, but it was slow moving and I didn’t get deeply involved.
There were enough twists to keep you guessing, pretty much right up to the end. I haven’t read much by Harlan Coben, so I don’t know if this was typical of his writing or not.
This is an excellent read
Typical formula for his books. It was okay.
Myron Bolitar and his friend Win are great characters. Plus—I love ALL of Harlan Coban’s books!
