Fabulous fun!
If you are in need of a crazy fun romantic comedy then Olive and Hank’s journey will make you laugh, cry, and smile. Molly has a gift of bringing laughter, fun, and crazy loveable characters to life. Can’t wait to read her next one!
This was my second time reading Hollywood Dreams and I loved it even more than the first time! Trevor is such a jerk at first. Actually, he is a jerk through at least half the book. But even when you want to strangle him or give him a swift kick in the rear, he is still likeable. He is mean to Maggie from the get go and she doesn’t let him get away with it. She doesn’t let him get to her until it does. Trevor is confused by his feelings but when he sees how hurt she is by his behavior, he transforms in front of our eyes. This is very much an enemies to lovers/bullish romance and Ms O’Hare balances it beautifully. Once Trevor realizes how far he has fallen for her, he starts to change. Maggie doesn’t let him off easy and you cannot help but love and admire her. She is fantastic! Such an amazing read!!
Loved it!!
This book had it all. Maggie is my spirit animal! I thought she was awesome! Take no prisoners kind of girl.
Trevor is a big ole bully that’s just not sure how to control himself. Maggie has no problem putting him in his place. Their back and forth banter had me cracking up at times. Add a crazy cat to the mix and you will catch yourself full on snorting at this book.
I want a best friend like Lexi. She is a proud, confidant woman that lifts her friends all the way up. Gah she’s amazing.
This was my first book by this Author and I enjoyed it. It was a little difficult for me to get into at the beginning but then things started getting better and better. It was funny and very entertaining.
The cover gives nothing away…..This book could not have come into my life at a better time. It was brilliantly hilarious, extremely witty, sexy and just plain fabulous! I loved every single bit of this story, from the first page right through to the end. The characters were amazing and the way the author incorporated a crazy pet into the mix was genius! The book made me feel so happy and brought a huge smile to my face!
OMFG!!! Molly O’Hare you outdid yourself with Hollywood Dreams. What happens when a beautiful woman who doesn’t meet what some would call model sized body meets her Hollywood crush for the first time? Let’s just say the explosive chemistry they share will at times leave you with your mouth hanging open.
I have not laughed or bit my tongue so many times while reading a book. I absolutely adored Maggie, her personality was just everything. I feel like she could be my spirit animal. In case you are wondering yes I am gushing like a high school girl!! Trevor in the other hand boy oh boy did I want to smack the living daylights out of him. OK he redeemed himself, but the way he treated her when he first met her had me wanting to claw his damn eyeballs out.
I feel like I am not doing this book any justice. You need to read this fabulous book. We get a hot bad boy with an ego the size of Texas who gets knocked on his ass by a big beautiful woman who does not put up with any of his B.S.!
RATING 4.5 STARS
Hollywood Dreams is a stand alone, sexy, enemies to lovers rom-com by Molly O’Hare. You’re going to meet a Hero that you will want to hate but won’t be able to help but fall in love with. And a heroine that doesn’t hesitate to say what’s on her mind, and is determined to make her own dreams come true.
Maggie Connolly grew up listening to her mother tell her she was overweight, plain, and would never amount to anything. All Maggie has ever wanted was to be an actor. After the death of the only person that has ever shown her any love, her grandmother, she packed up and moved to Los Angeles. She’s going to make her own dreams come true. But after countless auditions, she’s starting to doubt herself, until she finally scored a small part on a major motion picture starring the hottest guy in Hollywood. If only she hadn’t made that wrong turn while searching for her sound stage.
Trevor McCain was the hottest thing in Hollywood right now. And he exploited that fact as often as possible. He knew he could get away with pretty much whatever he wanted. Then THAT woman walked into his dressing room at a very bad time. He didn’t hesitate to tell her just what he thought of her as well as repeating his opinions in front of everyone else to the director.
Maggie is sure that her very short career is now over. But the director sticks up for her, much to the dismay of the rudest man she has ever met. She used to have a bit of a crush on Trevor. How could she not. But the real life Trevor is nothing like the one she saw in the movies.
The truth is, Trevor might be famous but he’s really very much alone. He never knows who he can really trust. And all of his so called friends really just want something from him. Maggie is completely the opposite of what he is normally attracted to. So why does his body react every time she starts spewing her hateful words at him? Why can he not even look at any other woman? Why can he not get her off his mind? But every time they are anywhere near each other, all they do is argue.
These two were so cute. I really didn’t like Trevor at first. But his reaction to Maggie was so funny. He was so perplexed by it! And once he gave in, I loved his “Mine” mentality! Then there is Maggie’s Siamese cat, Pocket to keep them both on their toes. The author says the cat just might take after her own cat!
This is a super fun, sweet, sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Trevor is so confused and it takes him several tries to get his point across. And Maggie’s temper makes things so much fun. Together, along with Lexi and Danny, their friends, this is a fast, fun read that will definitely make you smile, and make your day just a little bit better.
I’m absolutely in love with this bully romance! I adore Maggie so much! This bully romance will have you laughing, kinda mad and falling so hard for these characters!
Maggie is a kickass, happy, full of self-esteem and happy natured girl who is following her dreams of acting. Most didn’t believe she could do it because she doesn’t fit the average image of your typical actress. She doesn’t back down to bullys and will quickly stand up for herself. She’s crazy for Trevor, who is a super hot actor. Little did she know he’s a self centered jerk! He stops at nothing to make her miserable. Maggie quickly makes a friend Lexi, who is alot like Maggie and will have you laughly in no time.
I loved the way this story unfolded. It’s one of the best bully romances I’ve read. The cat and mouse games between Maggie and Trevor had me mad, sad and then laughing to tears!
Every once in a while I crave a good enemies to lovers with a real a#$hole who has to be redeemed. Hollywood Dreams has that in spades! What it also has is a while lot of heart, a good dose of laugh out loud humor and the greatest, sassiest cat of all time. I was begging for more with ever turn of the page. Feeling every emotion from pure rage to complete swoon and laughing like a loon in between.
Trevor is the kind of guy you just want to immediately junk punch. I don’t know who hated him more at the start me or Maggie. But this super jerk has now idea what’s hit him when it comes to Maggie. His confusion on what his body and heart recognized immediately only adds to the comedy as his brain tries to wrap itself around the fact that not only is he completely wrong but the woman of his dreams has just walked into his life.
Maggie on the other hand is the complete opposite. As sweet as she is sassy, she’s a breath of fresh air in a genre loaded down with cookie cutter women. This plus size beauty carries more strength in her than most of the world as she continually overcomes insults hurled at her in an industry that’s centered around appearance. With some amazing friends, a hilariously strange cat and Hollywood’s biggest jerk all along for the ride this book is unputdownable!
This was a fun debut novel from Molly O’Hare. An enemies-to-lovers, Hollywood rom-com with a sassy heroine and an at first very unlikeable hero to win your heart. It’s not often that I find myself wanting to read the stories of secondary characters, but I can’t wait to read Lexi and Danny’s.
“Hollywood Dreams” by Molly O’Hare is an enemies-to-lovers/bully romance between aspiring actress Maggie Connolly and A-list leading man Trevor McCain, whose paths crossed for the first time when Maggie accidentally interrupted Trevor’s on-set tryst with another woman. Trevor immediately assumed the worst about Maggie and tried to get her fired because he believed that she was spying on him to sell pictures to the tabloids. The small role as a waitress was Maggie’s first job since moving to Los Angeles, however, and she refused to give it up without a fight.
Trevor was not an easy character to like, and his needlessly cruel comments and fat shaming of Maggie made me cringe more than once. No matter his baggage, it didn’t justify the way he treated the people around him, especially Maggie. He did eventually figure out that he was wrong about her and apologize, but he tried to do so with gifts first so that he wouldn’t actually have to say the words. I would have liked to see him grovel more before Maggie forgave him. She deserved a lot more than a single “I’m sorry” and a diamond necklace after everything that Trevor put her through!
While Trevor’s behavior sometimes frustrated me, there were still a number of funny parts to this story. I particularly enjoyed the antics of Maggie’s “devil cat,” aka Pocket the Siamese. His vocalizing made him seem almost human at times, and his attacks on Trevor’s feet and arms in defense of his mommy were often very well timed. The secondary romance between Maggie’s friends Danny and Lexi was cute too. It was obvious how much they liked each other but each was afraid to say anything. I’m glad they’ll be getting their own story.
Overall, while I didn’t enjoy “Hollywood Dreams” as much as some of the other books I’ve read by this author (especially “Learning Curves,” one of my favorite books of 2020), I would still recommend it for fans of enemies-to-lovers or bully romances. I look forward to Molly O’Hare’s next release.

I love stories about fans meeting their dream Hollywood Man always dreaming that one day it will happen to me!! So this was my perfect read. This rom-com is the first book I have read from this author and I was totally enthralled from the first page. I could not imagine meeting my Hollywood Heartthrob literally with his pants down, but Molly’s writing of this hilarious scene where this story begins was absolutely perfect. It was so easy to imagine our heroine’s embarrassment, confusion and annoyance when her dreams about Trevor McCain were cruelly shattered.
Maggie is an amazing woman who is talented, dogged and determined to be successful in Hollywood no matter what is thrown at her so she totally deserved to get the break she did and she did not deserve the insults that Trevor threw at her. But there is no reason to feel sorry for this girl, she gives as good as she gets and ties poor unsuspecting Trevor’s heart into knots while she is doing it.
This story is so well done, it is hilarious at times and heartbreaking at others. It was great to see mean and thoughtless Trevor brought to his knees by a woman who stood up to him and taught him that what you see on the outside may not be who the person is on the inside.
After enjoying this story so much I will definitely be back for more from this author.
Trevor a Hollywood heartthrob and Maggie, a woman that refuses to give in to her crush demands. This rom-com was quite entertaining, I love douche bags in my books, so Trevor was along the line of what I like. The storyline kept me reading and the characters entertained me to no end. I really like that it was fast-paced and that the relationship between the characters was full of passion, drama, and emotional sides. I laughed one minute and the next I had this bad boy doing something that kept me reading. This enemies to lovers rom-com is one you want to read.
