Sexiest man alive. Playboy movie star. Reckless actor. Will Baker, better known as “Fitz,” is back, and the world has questions. Where did he go? Why is he back? Who was I, Maggie Sharp, the girl who found him? As Will and I fled my family’s troubles, we returned to a world most only dream of, where privacy belongs to the highest bidders, and loving Will might cost me the freedom I fought so hard … might cost me the freedom I fought so hard to attain.
Secrets mean betrayal, and Will’s are bigger than most.
As he returns to a life of wealth and excess, will he fall back into his old vices too?
Or is loving each other the one thing that will save us both?
Author’s note: Hollywood Chase was previously published as Indiscreet, the second book of the Discreet Duet.

Absolutely loved this book, the fame, heartbreak and the grief that Will and Maggie went through to find their HEA will grab at you. The Discreet Duet are fantastic reads!
This is the conclusion to this duet and what an amazing ending it is. I mean I laughed and I cried and I yelled at my kindle because this is one emotional ride.
The story continues where Discreet leaves off. Will’s secret is out and after four years in hiding he is back and people have lot’s of questions for him. They want to know what happened to him and why he went off the grid. Will is quiet about where he has been and why and that makes him more intriguing to the paparazzi. Plus he comes back with a girl by his side and they want to know who she is and where she came from and is she the one to tame his playboy ways.
Maggie has fled from her family and she feels good because she wants nothing to do with them. But when she finds out who Will really is she is pissed off and rightfully so because she is not sure she can be everything Will needs. All the secrets and lies come out and Will is fighting to keep Maggie but she is skeptical about Will and her because he was such a playboy. Maggie is wondering if he can change his ways and be with her and her alone.
Will is determined to fight like hell for Maggie because she is the one for him and no one else. Maggie is his begining and end his morning and his night. She belongs to him and he will prove it.
The blurb sucked me right in and Five stars are not enough for this book, the second and final in this duet. How I adored this couple, Will and Maggie and everything they’ve had thrown at them. They each had moments where you might want to smack their heads together but, the love, the humor, everything about their story was just soooooo very wonderfully written. I’m loving this new to me author, so talented. Some wild Hollywood drama, a few bitches and villians, a little crazy mixed in, a swoony, angsty, twisty rollercoaster ride of emotions and feelings and love, love love. Your kindle may melt into a giant puddle as the steaminess factor heats up the pages with that dirty talking, hot, sexy Will! Can we clone him??? Yes he’s got a few issues but they’re not going to overshadow him for me…Maggie was his perfect match and she knew just how to sooth his soul. What’s it going to take for them to get a happy ending? The odds look stacked against it and with so many obstacles to overcome, can they do it? Read and discover for yourself. Don’t miss this unforgettable tale which will leave you wanting more. Highly recommend this one.
I’ve been going over this book in my head for hours trying to figure out how to emphasize to everyone just how AWESOME this book is… ALL. THE. FEELS!!!! There was love, heartbreak, suspense, shadiness, more love, more heartbreak… Some cattiness… A great show off friendship. Theo remains a problem. I thought that Nicole did a great job of keeping you guessing on if and when he would show up. There was also some very serious topics dealt with. Alcoholism and drug use are very serious and real issues, and breaking the cycle is always very tough to accomplish. I can not rave enough about this book. I cried. I laughed. I gasped. I squirmed. Putting it down to handle my grown up responsibilities was a very real struggle. If you have not yet…. Go One-click now!!!
How can I ever fully describe what I’m feeling right now after finishing this book. This story literally ripped me apart and put me back together. We meet Will and Maggie in Discreet and I couldn’t wait to read how their story ended in this book. Let me tell you this, you will laugh, cry, be angry, be sad, this book has it all. These two characters are so ingrained in my heart and soul, that I will never forget them. This author has such incredible talent, I am in complete awe of her. Please! Read Discreet, then Indiscreet, you will wonder how you could never have had these books in your life before! Just phenomenal!
Love Nicole French’s writing. This book picks right back up. Will aka Fitz was found by the paparazzi at the end of the last book, so now he’s back in the limelight and missing his Lily Pad. Maggie aka Lily Pad is also pining for Will…also pretty pissed at him too. Let’s be honest, that last for a hot ass minute after he finds her. These two just have so much passion between them, it is electrifying, absolutely sizzling. This book is all about the obstacles and drama that come with being a famous movie star. Not gonna lie, there was a shit ton of drama. A bit too much for me personally, but I think everyone else will eat it up, because they have great passion and truly are soulmates. The first book was more their inter drama, this one is all about the outer factors, luckily these two are pretty solid.
This book starts out pretty early, that these two are in a tough spot and have absolutely no way to get out of it, as in his contract is iron tight. Remember her crazy ass ex, well they get to deal with him, his asshole dad, Will’s piece of shit mom (I had other words for her, but because I knew my review would be flagged over and over…chose to not use them, and yes, she’s that bad, worst mother ever), her slutty alcoholic mom and his drugged up whore ex. My gosh, it was a hot ass mess. I don’t think the drama would have been too bad for me, if it wasn’t repeated over and over. You know what I mean, banning his mom from the set, but inviting her to the after party, wth. Or not giving full disclosure on everything and I do mean e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, because in Hollywood it all comes around with all the damn back biting. I felt sorry for these two, but I really felt sorry for Maggie, she had put up with so much in her life and puts up with a little too much of everyone in my opinion during this book.. She was just too sweet and caring for all that crap. So many emotions in this book, but isn’t that the sign that you’re reading a great writer…yes, it is. Felt like I was a character in the book, so everything they felt, I felt just as much.
These two do get their happily ever after, but not without a lot of bumps. Glad they were able to stick it out, if I had been Maggie…not sure I would have. She found out some fairly important things via paparazzi, not Will and that pissed me off. I truly believe he was trying to protect her, but it doesn’t come off that way if he isn’t being completely open. Unfortunately words and pictures are forever. Thank gosh he can grovel with the best of them, because he sure as shit needed to. Sometimes it’s just not worth the hassle. This was a safe-ish read, they are never with others after meeting, well we don’t think they are. Will got drugged, he said he wasn’t with anyone, but then couldn’t really remember. I assume he wasn’t, even though he couldn’t remember, but it was never verified for sure. Don’t get me wrong, there were others trying, and trying, and trying, and trying. Absolutely exhausting. OTT alpha that made you swoon as much as upset you. A sweet and too tolerant heroine. Shit ton of baby batter, kick ass epilogue and hea.
What an incredibly emotional and perfect conclusion to Discreet! Nicole’s writing is one of a kind & this duet will definitely be a top read of 2018 for me!
Ah! The Beautiful conclusion of Will and Maggie’s story will not disappoint. I never thought that their journey was going to be easy, but nothing prepared me for the emotional roller coaster of this book. This duet it so worth the read!
Happy Reading Everyone!!
Will and Maggie in this book take you on an action packed, emotional, with all the feels. It picks up where the first left off and pulls you into their world of Hollywood and don’t let go till the end. Five AMAZING stars this book. All the characters and different places this author takes you along for the ride with everything happening at a nice pace. Amazing read can’t wait to see what she has next
“I’m Will, Maggie… I’m your Will, baby. And you’re mine. My Lily pad. Without you… Without you, I have no name. Without you, I’m no one at all.”
The ability to self-publish manuscripts has brought countless numbers of truly exceptional storytellers to light and I couldn’t be more grateful to technology for opening this window. Once upon a time a writer might submit their manuscripts to every publishing house in the country—repeatedly—and still not sell it for years, if at all. This all changed when self-publication because an option and I can’t tell you how much it’s changed my life. I love to read and have been a book a day reader since about the 3rd grade… but everything was so cookie-cutter. Replicas and formulas that spelled out what made up a good book were repeated within every genre. Personally, it led me to get burned out time and again, regardless of what I was reading. So self-publication brought with it the chance to discover new talented authors whose voices varied greatly. It also opened up innovative tropes and for the first time in my life, I didn’t burn out on any one genre.
Just over a year ago I discovered a new to me author who was releasing a book about a bad boy with a heart of gold. A bad boy that really was the perfect hero, and yes, I am referring to Nico from Bad Idea. If you’ve read Nicole French’s work, you know that she’s an exceedingly talented storytelling. From the first book I picked up, she got my immediate attention. She wrote a complex romance that was unique and inspired. A romance that spanned three entire books and without a doubt, I truly loved the Bad Idea Trilogy. However, as much as I loved it, and as much as I’ve loved the Spitfire Trilogy, nothing prepared me for Will and Maggie. The Discreet Duet is my favorite duet of the year and my favorite books by Nicole French as a whole. For someone who reads as much as I do, that should tell you something. My admiration for Nicole’s work has grown with each book she’s released.
“How do you do it? …Be the air I need and take my breath away all at once.”
When I review a book, I stay away from rehashing the synopsis of the story, and this holds true with the Discreet Duet. I am not an author, so my talents lay in giving my opinions on a book, not spinning a new and/or better blurb to sell you on a book. It’s my job to tell you why you should consider it after it’s caught your eye and there are so many things I love about the way Nicole French writes romance. My review can’t get into them all, but I wanted to point out a few important details about Indiscreet to back up my 5+ star review. First, Indiscreet is the conclusion to a duet and is not meant to be read as a standalone. It picks up where readers were left hanging at the end of Discreet—Thank you Nicole French for ALMOST making me throw my kindle! I hate, HATE! cliffhangers and Nicole French is famous for them. You’d think that would reduce my admiration of the books she writes. Only it doesn’t. In fact, I daresay that her books absolutely own me because they are so complex, have character growth second to none and deliver storylines that you’re consumed by. Every time I read something she’s written, I pick it up and read straight through to the end. And yes, I want to tantrum like my 3-year-old every time they leave me high and dry—but there is something incredible about an author who can write a book with complexities like Nicole French delivers. So, when I tell you I abhor cliffhangers AND tell you to buy one, YOU need to trust me that it’s a phenomenal read!
“Love is Freedom… Because that’s what I feel when I’m with you.”
Indiscreet is told from Maggie’s POV. I tend to I prefer dual perspectives romances because I love to really get to know the characters. However, there is always an exception to every rule, and Nicole French is one of mine. She writes single perspective spectacularly! There is never a question of being unable to connect with the character whose direct perspective we miss because she uses dialect and actions to back up everything we learn about them—in the case of the Discreet duet, Will’s motivation and thoughts are well represented.
“You and me, baby. We’re not right now. We’re forever.”
When I reviewed Discreet, I said that Nicole French’s education was apparent in each book. Her stories are told eloquently with a fluidity and conciseness that is rare. Her books also discuss nuances of society and the world stage intelligently while also discussing these issues within the context of her characters’ lives. In Indiscreet, we see more of Maggie’s complex identity crisis as it relates to both race and her mother’s alcoholism and Will’s debilitating anxiety issues. These issues serve as a basis for the drama and angst inherent in a modern romance. Additionally, they provide the reader with multifaceted characters that you can watch grow as the story progresses. Nicole French executed them perfectly. She built a romance around issues that are relatable and realistic, and I loved these characters even more because they weren’t perfect.
Will and Maggie were everything! Now, I won’t lie here… Will was a huge draw for me in the Discreet Duet—enough to hashtag #WillisMine—but let’s just be real, if the heroine wasn’t equally awesome then the draw of the book would diminish. I saw several reviews when I was preparing mine wherein the writers didn’t like Maggie when they read Indiscreet because they felt she was weak—and I couldn’t disagree more! I loved Maggie. She’s lived a hard life—a life of near constant strife and adversity for multiple reasons. While still a child, she became the adult and caregiver to an alcoholic mother. The small town she was raised in didn’t allow her to explore who she was like most teenagers would. Instead, they cut her down with every chance they got—after all, she’s Ellie’s daughter, and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! She lived within the confines of a smallminded town who couldn’t see past her mixed race. She’s lived without a father. Most would have used these circumstances as an excuse to fail, yet Maggie chose to use them to motivate herself. She pursues her dreams and stands by her mother in a town that loves nothing more than gossiping about her. This is a woman that shows nothing except strength! Maggie doesn’t give up when life gets tough—she digs in! I found her admirable and beautiful, the perfect female protagonist to my Will.
“He loved me. Fitz. Will. Whoever he was, whoever he had to be, that simple fact hadn’t changed.”
Fitzwilliam ‘Will’ Baker is without a doubt my favorite male protagonist this year. He’s my favorite brand of hero—an alpha asshole who growls ‘mine’ and uses actions to back up his claims. He’s fiercely protective of Maggie and unquestionably head-over-heels in love with her from the very first page of Indiscreet. He knows the treasure he holds, and he constantly shows Maggie her value. A value that others work tirelessly to tear from her again and again. While there are times that both Maggie and Will are blinded to the other’s truths, their love never diminishes. And let’s not forget their chemistry… WOW, their chemistry ignites the pages of this duet. It’s super HAWT! So, make sure you’re suitably prepared with those batteries charged and fresh panties because Nicole French writes the hell outta sexy times! As I stated above, The Discreet Duet is without a doubt one of my favorite duets this year. I find Nicole French’s books so compelling, I give up sleep to finish them in one sitting. I truly cannot wait to see what she has in store next for readers. With each book I have had the pleasure of reading, my awe of her talents grows. If you are new to Nicole French, I can not stress how much I love her stories and I urge you to pick up whichever of her books calls to you the most. See for yourself why I call her an exceptional storyteller. You won’t be sorry…

Wow, what a powerful conclusion to Will and Maggie’s story. Nicole did such an amazing job with this. I was left breathless and stunned. Will and Maggie have been through so much chaos in the short amount of time together. But I was sucked into this story and felt like I was experiencing all the pain and grief Maggie was too. And Will, what can I say, you’ll fall in love and at times he makes you wonder. But yes between all the chaos is it even possible to find peace or happiness when everyone is trying to take it all away. You’ll experience so many ups and downs. But this book duet is so worth reading. I loved it. I loved the characters and I highly recommend this one. I really could give more stars if possible.
Wow, what a great ending to a wonderful series of books! Once you start you just can’t stop, you keep turning the pages to find out what happens. Will and Maggie are great characters and they go thru so much to be together. This book is well written and I highly recommend this book! I loved it
Will and Maggie are a couple that started out unlike any other couple I have ever read! Maggie encroached on Wills isolation and for that he hated her! He wanted peace, quiet and to go unnoticed but from the second Maggie laid eyes on him she saw EVERYTHING! When secrets came out and the past came knocking the oasis that they created together was ruined but could it be salvaged!!
I absolutely loved how much Will depended on Maggie to keep him going! They both relied on the other and though at times it was unhealthy it was this attachment that also kept them stronger together! They knew that past hurts had changed who they were but together they were more than they’d ever been!
In discreet I called Maggie meek! She was always taking everything in and looking out for those around her but when the time came she was stronger than I could have ever imagined! She stood up for herself time and time again and fought for what she deserved! Will had a big personality and she knew she had to be even bigger to keep him balanced and that came out several times in this book! I will miss this couple so much and I hope to see little pieces of them here and there!
If you have read Discreet, you definitely need to continue Will & Maggie’s story in Indiscreet. Nicole French does not disappoint in this series.
Will and Maggie’s story picks up a couple weeks after Will’s secret is out in the open as to who he is. A big MOVIE STAR!!! Will and Maggie have separated ways for now but Will has told Maggie before he will find her if she runs. Will does find Maggie and their feelings for each other are definitely not lost within those few weeks. Even though Will has an obligation to uphold due to past agreements, Maggie accompanies him to his tasks. There are many people in the story that do not want Will and Maggie together, they do the best they can to separate them. Well the movie life gets the better of Maggie in the way Will looks to fall into old habits. Can they work through all the drama thrown their way? Will Maggie be able to accept Will with his FAME and all that accompanies that life? Or will Will find a way to officially leave his HOLLYWOOD life and just live as much a normal life he can with Maggie? What is in the plans for Maggie and Will if they stay in Hollywood or go back to Newman Lake to live? What about plans for a family? There is only one way to find out how the story continues!
Indiscreet is full of love, life, friendship, trust, mistrust, love lost, and so much more. Nicole does a fabulous job at making Will and Maggie’s story real. You can imagine the story happening to you! You will NOT be disappointed!

Indiscreet, the second book in the Discreet duet by by Nicole French, is just as amazing as book 1. I absolutely loved this book. Sometimes with duets, book 1 is the rise to the climax of the story and book 2 the follow up to all the questions. Ms. French continues that rise to the climax of the story, giving us more suspense, drama, action and all around more more MORE!!!
It is so well done that the story runs smoothly. All the pieces just click together and make a story that is swoon worthy.
Back in the spotlight, “Fitz”, is thrown into the lime light again. Not wanting to let Maggie go however, can have its trouble.
Dealing with her own family, emotions and life is not so easy for Maggie when the love her life turns out to be someone else, or so she thinks.
The constant back and forth and life’s obstacles that can get in the way prove this relationship is one of ups and downs.
Loved this story line. Love the characters chemistry. Would love to see some secondary character’s get their story done.
Indiscreet is the second book in Discreet duet. After the cliffhanger of the first book, I had to dive in straight away. Maggie and Will are facing the reality of Will’s previous life. Demons of his past are back to hunt him, dragging his Lily Pad along with him. The public is hungry for a story of the supposedly dead Fitz Baker.
The plot itself was super captivating. I read the whole book all at once because I just couldn’t put it down. Nicole set a fast pace and I just had to know what was bound to happen on the next page. It was full of twists with a lot of romantic moments as well as some nail-bitting ones. Absolutely 5 stars for the storyline.
Will and Maggie are a couple I’ve loved since the first moment of Discreet and I kept falling in love with them during Indiscreet. Except for moments when I wanted to smash Will across the head with the kindle…
Overall it’s a total 5 star! It’s a really well written book and thoroughly planned plot with interesting characters. Well done, Nicole!
I liked it!
Nicole French has created yet another amazing story in the Discreet and Indiscreet duet! Indiscreet is an instant page turner that had my emotions all over the place. Nicole is so detailed in her writting i feel like im apart of the story and characters. Will and Maggie are as hot as ever in this book! My stomach in knots at times while reading and my heart unsure. There were definitely times I wanted to shake Will, but in the end he more than made up for being a major jerk. Maggie went through her own emotional rollercoaster this book and I couldn’t help but feel for her. She was naive at times, but also strong and determined. I loved the ending, but sad Will and Maggie’s story is over!! A must read series!!
Omg the FEELS!!! This book was so much more than anything I thought it would be. I was in deep after reading Discreet (book 1), and holy crap!!!! This was EVERYTHING I didn’t know I wanted!! My emotions were all over the place, I was happy, sad, scared, and so ecstatic for Will and Maggie to get their HEA!! This was filled with so much angst, and love. But also with so much heartbreak, fear, and disloyalty from the ones who are supposed to protect us. I really really loved this one and I can’t wait to read the extended epilogue!! Nicole French blew me away with this one!
Indiscreet is completely beautiful! The amount of romance between these pages is off. the. charts! The story is all consuming! I felt as though I had heart palpitations with my heart racing and feverishly turning these pages. I love stories about the elite… those Hollywood stars… the rich and famous! So many things from the past come out and create so much pandemonium. I just loved Will so much! He has some faults, but don’t we all? Maggie is my hero. Her strength is incredibly admirable.
Nicole French tore up this story like a darn machine! I can’t even believe the gorgeousness that is this duet. She picks up this book right where Discreet lets off. The romance of this story is so beautiful. It will make you emotional, it’ll bring the heat! Enjoy this epic love story!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
