Maybe her knight in shining armor is at the end of the Bridal Train line and is really wearing spurs. The last … spurs.

And that just might be his fault. The only way out is to get himself one of those mail order brides, though he only intends to keep her until after the holidays when his family returns home.
Samuel makes it quite clear he doesn’t want a wife, and Holly is facing yet more loneliness. But then his family comes to visit, and she’s embraced by the big family, leaving her feeling this Christmas might be her first happy one. An emotional mail order romance.
Holly was left with next to nothing after her cold-hearted parents passed away and her uncle cut her out of the will. Knowing she has to find a way to survive, she reads about the “Bridal Train” and sees a solution to her circumstances. Samuel had moved to Kansas to make himself a home but when a little fib convinces his family to visit so they can meet his new wife, he knows he has to find one soon. When he reads about the “Bridal Train” he decides to give it a chance. Now, they have to see if they can convince his family they are a good couple and maybe themselves.
This is the fifth book in The Bridal Train series and can easily be read as a standalone romance. It’s an emotional journey for both Holly and Samuel that had me giggling and crying throughout it.

Holiday sweetness…
I really enjoyed this sweet novella, a slice of the Old West at Christmas time. Love and marriage may not always go hand in hand but necessity doesn’t mean you can’t find the perfect one for you…
Fate, luck or just happenstance, however it happened Holly and Samuel came together at just the right time. They needed each other for different reasons but their goals were the same. Family meant everything and they were going to become one…
Both characters were solemn and quiet yet that just made me like them more as they both did what they had to, to get things done. As they began to get to know each other, and Samuel’s family, they grew closer and closer.
This was a sweet, almost old-fashioned romance with its simplicity and gentleness making it a perfect holiday read.
*I happily reviewed this story
**Thank you to Booksprout
Holly had to become a mail order bride after her parents passed away. Samuel didn’t really want a bride but his family was coming for Christmas and they thought he already had one. Can Holly and Samuel have a real marriage with love? Will Samuel’s family ever leave? Sweet love story

The harshness of life can sometimes leave one with nowhere to go, so Holly picked up and became part of the Bridal Train gong west to marry a man she’d never met.
Peter wasn’t really wanting a bride but the fibs he told to his parents made it necessary since they were about to visit. Having to appear married and happy, Holly became his bride, but he really didn’t intend to keep her.
Once his family arrived though, things get interesting! She finds the family she yearns for and if Peter can open his heart, he might find he has a wonderful woman he never expected!
Great addition to this series and one that warmed my heart!
Holly loses her parents in an accident one wintry evening. Her greedy uncle cons her out of her inheritance leaving her with no other choice than to become a mail order bride. Samuel moved to Kansas to get his own space in the wild west. He marries Holly only because he told his family that he had met and married while in Kansas. Through several mishaps and misunderstandings Holly and Samuel begin to get along better when his family – mother, father, two brothers, sister and her husband plus 2 nephews – join them for the Christmas holiday two weeks early. A sweet story
What I liked about this book was the characters and how she showed how they fell in love. I love the era in this story takes place . I hope Emberly will write more sweet romances.
Book five in the -The Bridal Train series a part of the A Mail Order Bride Christmas Novella. A short well written story with a good storyline the story flowed smoothly from page to page. This is Samuel Hollinger and Holly Bowens’ story. That uncle of hers was something else. I am glad Holly got her prince. Samuel’s family thinks he’s married. And they’re coming for a visit. He needs a fake bride. Now. Holly’s parents died, and her unscrupulous uncle has taken everything from her. With no other family to turn to, and not being welcome in her childhood home, she heads for Topeka, where she’ll meet her new husband. They’re both unsure of the other, but she begins to fall into her position as his wife. And his iciness begins to melt. What a nice story – my first mail-order bride book. It was wonderful to watch Samuel and Holly grow into their marriage and learn to trust each other. This is my first read from this author, and I want to read the earlier books in this series.

Holly was forced to become a mail order bride and Samuel was forced to take her as wife when he let his family believe he was married. He was a jerk to her at first, looking for faults and thinking of the marriage as temporary. I was surprised at how quickly she took to being a farmer’s wife after living a life of privilege with servants to cook and clean for her.
This is not my usual genre but I really enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline and characters. They are well written and developed. The story drew me in. I would recommend reading.

A lovely story for an afternoon read.
Marry to cover up a lie is never a good thing but that is what Samuel decides. Holly has lost everything and now marrying Samuel she again faces the possibility of that occurring again. I wonder how many marriages during that time where like how this one started out. The story was truly beautiful your heart will go out to the young woman facing such a future and the young man who really needs a wake-up call. These characters will pull you into the story. The author’s writing was splendid and I look forward to reading more by her. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Clean Read
Sweet story of how two souls come together out of necessity. Holly having lost both her parents and now being without a home or inheritance due to the actions of her nasty uncle. She leaves Chicago aboard the bridal train to Topeka Kansas, and makes an interesting friend along the way. In Topeka Samuel is waiting for his bride. One he doesn’t want but rather needs because of a story he told his family. Throw in a Steak, enough family to overfill the house at Christmas and you’ve got a very sweet story.
Great short story about Holly being a mail order bride. I enjoy these kinds of mail order brides and makes you have fantasy’s on how it really was back in those olden days.

I really enjoy these glimpses into the past. This is a light, fast read.
Holly, a resilient young woman who due to tragedy has to start her life over elsewhere. What’s a woman to do in these times but marry for security. Samuel needs a bride as he lied to his family.
Being an Aussie, every time I read this genre I picture Little House on the Prairie. This is no different, Holly comes from wealth, now she has the bare minimum and dust. It’s a heart warming story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is one sweet romance with an abundance of sorrow twisted in between. Of course there are ups and downs to make the story good. The important thing to remember is the hope for a HEA! This story feels very deserving of the five stars I am giving it here.

Samuel and Holly had no intentions to get married. When they both have no others option they go to the Espousal Alliance Office, Bridal Train. They are lucky to be matched but neither knows how to proceed.
Can they find love together? Will they let their walls down and work together?
Heart warming and full of love.

A warm, refreshing story about the trials and tribulations of the people who settled the Midwest of the United States. Here we are introduced to Holly, a young woman faced with a life-alternating decision. I commend this character for not turning bitter but as each challenge presented itself, she rose above it. She uses her wit and charm to create for herself a place where she can be satisfied with her circumstances. James’s character is so busy with running the farm and keeping up with chores on his own, he doesn’t take time to appreciate his new wife. Eventually things change for both of them and are able to see a brighter road before them.

This is a sweet, compelling read.
Holly, despite being swindled out of her inheritance (those villainous uncles get everywhere!), pulls herself up and sets off to be a mail order bride.
Samuel is need of a wife, although he doesn’t actually want one, he may have lied to his family back east about being married. And now they’re visiting for Christmas.
What follows is a gradual fall into love, and a learning to cope with way too many people in one small cabin.
There are many humorous moments, with the barn figuring large!
Will Holly and Samuel get their HEA?
