NOTE: This book was previously published by Five Star Publishing with a different cover. The electronic rights have reverted to the author and it has been re-released with a new cover.Detectives Brandon Berger and Dawn Luke are investigating a mysterious death that leads to the doorsteps of the Magnolia Faith Church. Tight-lipped parishioners and lack of evidence stop this case in its tracks. … tracks. Further north, William Chandler takes his wife and their infant daughter on a camping trip to the Skybald National Forest. After a series of strange events, William is arrested for murder. He swears he’s innocent, but the evidence is so damning, even his wife thinks he’s guilty. The Magnolia Faith Church might be the key to proving William’s innocence, but making the 251-mile connection could be deadly.
Told from two points of view, HOLLOW CRIB is fast-paced and suspenseful, taking readers down separate paths toward a single unexpected and explosive conclusion.

In “Hollow Crib” by B.J. Bourg readers meet Detectives Brandon Berger, his wife Debbie and their young daughter Samantha. We also meet Brandon’s partner,Detective Dawn Luke. The two detectives are investigating a death related to the Magnolia Faith Church in Magnolia Parish, Louisiana. They find the members of the church uncooperative when asked questions about the deceased and about the church. They decide to attend a church service and once inside the church, feel like they are at a meeting of a cult. When the brainwashed church members and their pastor, Father Nelson Stewart, realize that Brandon and Dawn are not church members, they drive them out of the church. At the same time, readers meet William Chandler who has come to the Kisatchie National Forest with his wife Claire and baby daughter Gracie to enjoy the beauty of the national park and also to finally get over Wiliam’s dreadful experience which happened twenty-two years before when he was an eleven year old boy watching his father get killed by a heavy falling branch in this same forest. Claire enjoys the beauty and peacefulness of their surroundings until horrible things happen and William is arrested for murder. William spends part of his life in jail. As a reader, I could not understand why there were two totally different stories happening at the same time and I wondered if the storylines would ever meet. The “Hollow Crib” is a book I could not put down and I read it through the night. I recommend it to all lovers of very exciting mysteries.
Not believable as written
profanity
A little dragged out but a good original type story that kept my interest
Excellent book, but it is not a new release. Misleading.
