He’ll make her holiday merry…and hot.Darcy Tucker hates Christmas. As a department store supervisor, she deals with the dark side of the holiday season. Santa isn’t real, no, she doesn’t have any more Betty Fofetti dolls in stock, and no freaking way can she extend that sale. All she wants is to get to the day after Christmas. Fa-la-la-not.She can’t even escape it at home. Her neighbor, tall, … can’t even escape it at home. Her neighbor, tall, muscled tattoo artist Ben Hartley, loves the holiday, enough to—shudder—decorate her front lawn. Ben doesn’t seem like he should be jolly, but if the big belt fits…
He’s also the only one she can turn to when she runs into trouble at the store. Trapped together working on an important project, he’s determined to show her all she’s missed out on when it comes to the season of giving.
And receiving. So much receiving.
Now she’s looking at her own six-foot-plus tattooed Christmas miracle, and she’s ready to unwrap him under the tree…
Author’s note: Holiday Sparks was previously published by Taryn Elliott and it has been lightly re-edited.more
Oh WOW This book is so good! It is one of those books that if I already did not read Taryn Elliott already, it would sell her to me as an author. Let me start by saying it is one HOT book and it will definitely keep you warm on a cold winter’s night. I started reading this one and quickly decided it was one I needed to read out loud, IN BED to my hubs to Hubs. Quite an enjoyable book to say the least. Working retail is hard especially at Christmas time and Darcy works in a department store. She has a run-in with an irate customer who destroys part of the store. Only to come home and Christmas has thrown up all over her side of the duplex. Her neighbor Ben decided to surprise and boy did he. This tattooed hunk becomes a big part of her life inside the store and out. WE really enjoyed this book and I am sure other couples will as well.
This author is so good with a story! Sexy and a great sense of humor!
Holiday Sparks is a sweet enough to make you love the holidays and spicy enough to make you LOVE the holidays.
Darcy works at a department store and it’s made her hate the holidays. So when she comes home one night after a spectacularly rough day at work and sees that Christmas has thrown up all over her and her new tenant’s shared duplexes, she’s furious and immediately starts working on taking all the beautiful lights down. When her hot tenant comes out, though, to see why his lights suddenly went out, there are sparks flying all over between the two who had never previously said more than polite hellos to each other.
Ben turns out to be nothing like Darcy had thought he was. He’s sweet, and kind, and when he agrees to help her out with making her department store Christmas ready for the owners’ visit, she’s suddenly seeing him in a whole new light. As they indulge in a little (a lot) of holiday cuddling and sexy times, I was cheering to see Darcy’s cold, prim façade fall away in the face of Ben’s sweet, holiday cheeriness. And when he gives her a tattoo at his tattoo shop? Whew, hot! And just another way to see Darcy lighten up. Of course something comes between them, but Taryn didn’t let me down and it’s resolved in a nicely natural way just in time for Darcy and Ben to enjoy the holidays together.
Even though Holiday Sparks is short, it’s fully fleshed out and Ben and Darcy are interesting characters with their own realistic personalities. I was rooting for this seemingly opposite pair make it, because they sizzled together. Thanks Taryn for this sweet, sexy piece of holiday cheer!!
I think there is nothing better than curling up in front of the fire with a nice steaming cup of hot coco and a good book, so for me this was a great way to start the holidays,
The story begins with Darcy having to deal with a troubled customer and the man was so irate that he ruined the Christmas display at the store where Darcy works, then Darcy returns home to find Christmas threw up all over her house and front lawn. You see Darcy does not like the holiday season at all, I mean AT ALL, and when she returned home to find her tenant had decorated for Christmas….well lets just say that she wasn’t happy. 😉
“Dammit. I’ve been getting used to the Ben Christmas that puked
all over my house, and now you’re going to take it all away?”
The chemistry between Ben and Darcy was great even though there was a major secret between them this story had very little angst and flowed nicely. I loved Ben’s niece, the young girl really spoke her mind and was truly adorable.
If you are looking for a quick, steamy read to get you into the holiday season I recommend grabbing a copy of this book.
I typically do not like the holidays. Not that I’m bah humbug, it’s just there is so much to do and see and … well you know. I love reading about the holidays though – especially quick and easy reads. Holiday Sparks by Taryn Quinn perfectly fit the quick and easy holiday genre and made me smile throughout.
Darcy works retail and hates Christmas. Ben is a tattoo artist who LOVES Christmas and all it entails. He also happens to rent one side of the house Darcy owns. The chemistry between Darcy and Ben was SMOKING HOT and their banter made me chuckle. Was there a little angst? Of course there was! Were there sexy scenes that made me pretend to blush? Of course there was! Was there holiday spirit throughout the story to help get me in the mood for the upcoming season? You bet!!
From beginning to end this story held my attention and I didn’t skim at all. I absolutely recommend this story by Taryn Quinn.
