Spencer Jamison may not lace up his boots as a Navy SEAL any longer, but that doesn’t stop him from being the hottest service man I’ve ever laid eyes on. And don’t get me started on his adorable dog.Dating Spencer is great…until the dead body turns up.
Holiday Risk by Megan Matthews is a novella length story and book three in the Pelican Bay Security series. A fast-paced, romantic suspense with laughs and bodies; this is definitely a worthy addition to this sexy a compelling series. I can’t wait for the next exciting instalment!

I started reading Holiday Risk while drinking my first cup of morning coffee. This is something I don’t recommend unless you have the day off. I was so into reading the book, I was almost late for work. Spencer is a SEAL, now working security in Pelican Bay. He is super hunky, very sweet and a great book boyfriend. However, it’s Joslin that steals the show. She is the perfect blend of smart yet innocent. I loved her internal talks with herself, how she bumbled through life, but never lost her cool. Holiday Risk is the first book I’ve read in the series. It was so enjoyable, I immediately went looking for more. Imagine my happy surprise to find I already had Book 1, Security Risk, in my TBR pile. As of the date of this review, it’s free on Amazon.
Spencer and Joslin meet in the pet store thanks to Spencer’s dog Frankie. The connection is instant. When they stumble across a dead body while on their way for a date, Spencer takes Joslin’s protection seriously resulting in a relationship. Ultimately this is a story of two people finding love where and when they least expected it. An enjoyable read with likable characters.

I could not stop reading this book. It was intense and intriguing. Oh, and romantic. Cannot forget that. I loved it. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
This is book three in the Pelican Bay Security series. This is Spencer’s story. Joslin is an ER nurse that finds herself attracted to a former SEAL and a man that works for Ridge at his security firm. In Spencer’s favour, he is also the proud owner of one of the puppies, Frankie, that was found and rescued at a bachlorette party he attended. On their second date, this small town romance gets flipped on its lid and everything accelerates including their feelings for one another. This was an enjoyable read where the story flowed smoothly and kept you turning ‘just one more page’. Enjoy!

This is a quick read and would be a good fit for someone looking for characters in their early/mid 20s. Personally I found Joslin a bit immature and would have liked to see a little more of the story from Spencer’s perspective.
The third book in the Pelican Bay Series will set your Kindle on fire. This is a great series and the Pelican Bay Security guys are hot and hotter. Spencer and Joslin’s story is one you will find yourself getting into. He’s a gorgeous ex-Navy Seal and one anyone would love to have as their book boyfriend. A cute story with some twists and plenty of sizzle. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Frankie is Spencer’s crazy, crazy puppy who helps him meet Joslin. Chemistry, terrible dates, old friends at Pelican Bay, dead bodies…intrigue, laughter and love. What more do you need in a book?

This story was a lot of fun! It has romance, humor, and suspense. Spencer is a former Navy Seal who works with a bunch of guys for a specialized security company. He meets pediatric nurse Joslin at a pet store while he’s there with his pup Frankie. They are just the sweetest trio, even with all of the crazy stuff going on around them. Spencer is so sweet, protective, and hot! How can a girl resist that? This is the first book that I have read in The Pelican Bay Security series, but it won’t be the last.

Well this story was interesting. A dead body found which doesn’t seem unusual for this series. Joslin to me is an airhead. For someone who talks to herself all the time and as a million and one questions. Spencer sees something in her though. I loved his dog Frankie. There is some danger. HEA
The author has given us wonderful characters that we can connect with. The story pulls you in with humor, suspense, danger and love. A hunk, a dog that eats everything and a girl whose life is thrown into chaos. What more could you want?

This book is about a young pediatric nurse named Joslin who meets a former SEAL named Spencer while Spencer was in the pet store trying to buy supplies for his dog, Frankie. Joslin and Spencer are immediately attracted to each other and a love story begins, interspersed with an event that brings suspense and danger – the finding of a dead body. Who is the dead guy? And why is he dead? Readers find out about the growing romance between Joslin and Spencer while there begin dangerous things like threats, explosions, kidnappings, and danger in general. Can Spencer keep Joslin safe? And all of this is while there are fun descriptions of the funny antics of Frankie the dog. This was a fun book to read and not too long, which is nice because I don’t always have time to read longer books!

I loved this book from the beginning. It has strong sexy guys, smart funny girls, a lovable puppy getting into stuff, quirky friends, and a small town setting. There is plenty of chemistry, humor, suspense, sass, danger, romance and mystery. I loved everything about this book. It is well written and keeps the readers interest until the very end. It makes you feel like you want to be part of the town. I look forward to reading more in this series. I highly recommend
