I was supposed to wipe the slate clean. New college. New state. New start. But even before my first class, I was already off on the wrong foot. At that frat party, it was me versus the most famous womanizer on campus, and I still don’t know who came out on top.I do know that when I found out Bobby Sullivan was joining me, my cousin, and his friends for our week-long holiday retreat, I should’ve … retreat, I should’ve listened to my gut. I knew it’d lead to trouble.
I just didn’t know what kind.
I tried to keep my distance from Bobby, but things didn’t exactly go according to plan. Before I knew what was happening, he had his hands on my waist and his mouth on my lips.
And what’s worse, I let him.
Now we’re doing far more than kissing, and I’m feeling far, far more for Bobby than a smart girl should.
Especially when he’s made it perfectly clear: this is as far as this thing can go. When this trip is over, so are we. Because forever is not in the cards for us.
It can’t be.
HOLIDAY HEAT is a standalone, contemporary/new adult romance in the Firework Girls Series.

What an amazing Christmas love story!
We met Bobby, Chloe’s brother, in Midnight Heat, and knowing their family background we can understand why he refuses to open his heart to the possibility of love. Sophie, the cousin of Jack, one of Chloe’s best friends, transfers to Hartman College and is invited to join the whole Firework Girls gang on a week-long Christmas vacation to Sun Valley, Idaho.
Sophie met Bobby at a frat party when she confronted him about advising his friend to break up with her roommate, leaving both friends heartbroken. Sophie is determined to stay far, far away from the womanizer she thinks Bobby is, so she’s quite surprised to find that he’s Chloe’s brother and that he’s also invited along on the Christmas trip.
But undeniable chemistry and the opportunities of proximity lead both Bobby and Sophia to set aside their differences, determined to just enjoy the time they have together on their vacation. No hearts, no strings, no emotions. Until all the emotions force their hearts to tug on those strings and cause them to look deep inside themselves for the answers only their souls can understand.
This romance was lots of fun to read, for both the current story as well as the side notes updating us on the four previous romances. Bobby’s personal journey is told so expertly and honestly that you really believe he’s going to follow through with his original plan. Watching him let go of his doubts and finding an appropriate way to grieve for his mom (and his dad’s loss) was beautifully done. I just wanted to give the poor boy a big ol’ mama hug. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review…We had a misunderstanding between Bobby and Sophie, come to find out that she threw a beer at the wrong guy. These two are related to some of our favorite fireworks people. Sophie is Jack’s cousin and Bobby was Chloe’s brother. So they end up spending time on vaca neither knew the other was going and while there were able to act on their mutual attraction and correct the misunderstandings..It was nice to catch up with the others..
If you like to fall in love with the characters in a book, this story is for you! Bobby and Sophie start off on the wrong foot but things appear to turn around. Then deep feelings get in the way along with things getting jumbled and confusing. Of course, your first inclination is to think that Bobby is a bastard and Sophie is too good for him. But over time, and with a few we’ll-meaning folks intervening, they come around to where they belonged. Deeply moving tale and hated to come to the end!

This is yet another hit in the Firework Girl’s series. The sassiness and humor, combined with hotness of another chapter in the lives of these characters made this a book I couldn’t put down. If you enjoyed any of the Firework Girls, you’ll love Sophie and Bobby. Thanks for another great read!
