Loved it
THE CHRISTMAS WISH is a standalone read with a HEA. A bachelor doctor, not a fan of Christmas finds himself the guardian for a young girl while her father recovers from an accident in the hospital. He can be in the hospital for several weeks and possibly over Christmas.
The doctor hasn’t had any experience with children so when his best friend offers to help him with the child they both move into the father’s ranch to take care of the little girl. The mother and their good friend passed away and the girl and her father only have each other so they are very close. She is smart beyond her years and a very good little girl.
There is a big secret, his best friend has been in love with him for years but she is afraid if he finds out he will reject her and she will lose her good friend. He is secretly planning on leaving their small town and volunteering in a country 5,000 miles away. She is devastated when she hears his plans but she still doesn’t discuss her feelings at all. This is a good love story. I enjoyed it and I recommend it. A neat thing is that the mother guides this group to a HEA.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/29/18

Eve Canaday has had a crush on her best friend Dr. Ben Tyler for most of the year that she has known him. Unfortunately, Ben is married to his job. When a mutual friend is injured in a fall the two must join together to temporarily care for the widower’s 4 year old daughter. It isn’t long before true feelings come to the surface for both of them. But Ben’s past and a sudden life changing choice will leave Eve floundering with her feelings of unrequited love for the man.
Ben knows he is no good for any woman, especially his sweetest, most kind hearted friend Eve. When they are thrown together unexpectedly, spending countless hours together caring for young Lily, he finally realizes that his cold heart has cracked open just enough to feel the pain his leaving will cause. But will Ben be able to open his heart all the way to love before it’s too late?
This is such a sweet, sexy, wonderful Christmastime novel. Wonderful characters drag you in to amazing small town Marietta, Montana, where every neighbor is a friend and every stranger is a friend you have yet to meet. I loved it!
Fun to read
fun read
Great Christmas story with wonderful characters and a happy ending. So many new people were introduced I can see more stories coming. My first time reading Barbara Ankrum but I’m sure I’ll be looking for her books in the future.
Quick read with a nice winter theme!
A great read over Christmas break!
Did not keep my interest.
Predictable but still a good read.
Fun, easy read. Kept interest
Very good. Nice Christmas romance
Romance novel usual
Cute premise, but too much sexual scenes for my taste.
Rather amateurish
typical drag on of two people not admitting their love
I suppose it was an okay book. I just could not get invested in it enough to continue past about 1/3 of the book. You would think that if you get that far you could stick it out, but I just could not. I rarely vote down a book, but I found the plot and characters trite. You may find it the exact opposite. To each his own. I hope you enjoy it. I just did not.
Very predictable, but okay
