A nice holiday story! And I love that there was a great message behind it. Not to mention a bit of holiday magic involved! Totally a story I would recommend people read to get a little holiday spirit!
I’m not a Holiday book kind of reader… they’re just not usually my cup of tea but Dangit, Laurelin wrote it so I was going to read it! And it was great. I should never doubt her ability to suck me into one her stories. I even kind of wished it was longer than a novella (gasp! I know!). If you’re like me and not into these kind of books, I’d still snatch it up. Well worth it!
What a sweet sweet story… I Love Ms Paige’s writing and will continue to read all of her books and this is no exception! Love Christmas stories… I would definitely recommend…
I really enjoyed this quick holiday novella! Holiday for Hire finds Jane down on her luck when it comes to love. She was dumped by her match and only weeks later she finds out her ex is marrying the matchmaker who had set them up to begin with. To top it off, they invite her to the wedding. Not wanting to show up alone to their wedding, she hatches a plan to hire someone to be her date.
I love the plot of this novella! I found Jane to be annoying at times. She was so set in her ways. Ian on the other hand is absolutely perfect. The sacrifices he has made in his life for his family makes him so lovable. I love how he brought out a new side to Jane.
I wish this was a full length book, because it felt kind of rushed. Given that it is a novella, it is very well written!
Holiday for Hire is a contemporary novella from these talented duo. Who doesn’t love a pretend boyfriend/ boyfriend for hire romance? This is one of my fave tropes and I simply can’t resist the appeal of it.
Jane was brought up in a certain way due to her family’s rich ways and society standing. With that comes high expectations from her and of course, her husband to be. When the guy she was seeing suddenly dumps her and had the gall to invite her to his Christmas wedding, Jane saw red. There was no way she will attend that wedding looking like a sore loser and date-less. Driven by desperation, she went searching and found an ad by Ian, a boyfriend for hire.
This is a quick holiday themed read that will show that there is more to life than what you know, having the courage to live it, and finding love where you least expect. Loved it!
4.5 Stars!!
Authors Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee have created a delightful, and emotional Christmas read, just perfect for this Holiday Season. Holiday for Hire is a very enjoyable, sweet, fun and steamy holiday story that will make you believe that love can be found in unexpected places.
All in all, this is a quick, nice short read, with likeable characters like Ian, that will keep you hook right from the start, and wishing for his HEA.
Great feel read for any season, but when it’s a swoony feel good romance centered around Christmas…it’s a winner!
Jane and Ian’s story was a fast paced quick read where their story flowed nicely and it felt complete.
What happens between them you’ll have to read and find out for yourself!
Jane is invited to an ex’s wedding on the eve of her favorite holiday. With no new boyfriend to show off, she takes to the Internet to find someone to be her date and show her ex how better off she is. Jane has high expectations but her favorite holiday helps her see her “boyfriend” is perfect the way he is. A great quick holiday read!
Holiday for Hire was my first “Christmas” read, and I couldn’t think of anyone else to initiate me into that genre besides Laurelin. This is a great short read that’s sure to get you into the holiday spirit.
Jane and Ian prove that people aren’t always what they seem on the outside. Jane had to let go of her idea of the perfect man. Wealth, stature and raising isn’t what makes a person… you have to look beyond to see who they really are. Her pretentiousness made me not like her at first. But, as usual, Laurelin had me rooting for her and her HEA.
While reading this, I could hear Ian’s southy accent in my head. Although at first this turned Jane off from him, it made him all the more sexy to me! After time, he worked his way into heart and made Christmas that much more special for Jane!
Holiday for Hire is a fast, fun, enjoyable read! Jane is adorable and Ian is sweet, smooth and sexy. Together they ignite the pages of this holiday novella and keep you warm, toasty and smiling. Their story is the perfect quick, happy holiday read. Treat yourself and grab this one!
What an enjoyable and romantic Christmas story. The Christmas spirit was alive and well in Boston with the beautiful decorations and frenzied shopping. Jane was in love with Christmas and all of its magic, but she would never think of decorating before Thanksgiving, and she would certainly never attend the wedding of her ex boyfriend. But an idea came to her, and she decided to search for the perfect and appropriate man to be her escort at the dreaded wedding. Jane hit the jackpot when she met Ian online, and she enjoyed talking to him on the phone. Would he be as perfect in person? It definitely wouldn’t hurt to look him up on social media, just to take a peek at her future wedding date. She was shocked when she recognized his handsome face smiling back at her. Would Ian remember her? Jane had never stopped thinking about him.
Will the stars in the Christmas sky shine down on Jane to show her what the holidays really mean?
This is a quick, heartwarming, holiday story. Jane is alone after her parents pass and her boyfriend leaves her for someone else. She receives an invitation to his wedding for the eve of her favorite holiday. When Jane hires a mysterious, sexy man to show off as her date, she just might learn that she is more than her status. Ian was so kind, loving, and swoony! He really knew how to show Jane how to be true to herself. This sweet, opposites attract romance is so heartwarming and engaging. It is a wonderful holiday read!
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Laurelin Paige is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
4 star review of Holiday For Hire by Laurelin Paige & Kayti McGee
What’s not to love? It’s the most magical time of the year and also happens to be my most favourite holiday. I love any story that is centred on Christmas; it’s a time for family and friends to get together.
I have to say that this story made me a little sad. We really got an insight into the thoughts and feelings of Jane Osborne (sometimes a little too much) and there were times that my heart went out to her. Her thoughts show the vulnerability that she hides from the world.
Expecting a proposal, Jane is shocked, when instead the man she has been dating dumps her. Fast forward several months and he has the audacity to invite her to his Christmas Eve wedding.
Determined not to give him satisfaction, she decides to hire a date, a fake boyfriend. Ian Brooks, although someone she would never consider dating, is the man she decides on, all he needs is a make over. There is more to Ian than meets the eye and through Ian, Jane learns to believe in the magic of Christmas.
This is a fun, quick steamy story that will certainly get you in the mood for the holiday season.
Even though this was a quick read. I absolutely enjoyed it. It’s really good from start to finish. I just Love Ian and Jane. I love Christmas stories and this novella does not disappoint. Thank you Laurelin and Kayti.
Paige and McGee bring their readers a fun, flirty story, just in time for the holidays.
While I found this story a bit slow in the beginning, I was certainly glad I stuck around, as I became more invested in both it’s main characters
For a short read that will bring you holiday cheer look no further.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“3/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
A quick holiday novella about finding what is truly important.
Jane was dumped by the man who she was to have a proper marriage with. She didn’t love him, but they were compatible and the right social standing to be a couple. Things are fine until she receives the invitation to the wedding set a month out.
She has to go, but can’t go alone, so she realizes that she needs to hire a date. Not just any date, but someone who will make her ex jealous. What starts out as an arrangement changes to more, but they can never work since he is not ‘right’ for her. When she realizes that she is more alone that ever before will it be to late to change her path?
I loved Ian. He was sweet and had some rough breaks in life, but he wasn’t going to give up. I loved the way Jane came to the resolution about what is really important even though she wasn’t pleasant in the beginning of the book! An uplifting holiday read!

4.5 Stars for Holiday for Hire
This is a magical time of year and let’s be honest what’s not to love about the holiday season and Holiday for Hire is a perfect holiday read even though it starts off just a little bit sad it soon turns around to a beautiful holiday romance .
The last thing Jane expected was to be dumped by her long standing boyfriend even more unexpected was the invite a few months later inviting her to his Christmas Eve Wedding, determined not to let him win Jane decides to take a fake date to the Wedding and that’s where Ian Brookes comes in.
Ian is not the sort of man Jane would normally date but this man has a lot going for him and there’s a lot more to Ian than meets the eye. Will Ian be able to make Jane believe in the Magic of Christmas!!!!
A quick fun entertaining read that will really put you in the Christmas spirit. Characters with sizzling chemistry and a story that is hard not to love all help make this a magical read.
This Christmas novella is perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. I really enjoyed Ian. He’s down to earth and I like that he stays true to himself. I enjoyed watching him help Jane see that class and money aren’t everything and how he helps her to be a better person. A fun holiday story.
Jane is a rich woman that has to please everybody. She needs a date for her ex’s wedding. She feels like she can’t show up without a date.
Ian is a man that is helping out his family and didn’t come from a rich family. He is from the southie.
Jane hired Ian to be her date and he has to be perfect. She tries to change him and it comes back and bites her and she realizes that is who she wants in her life. Jane had to have her way or the highway. They have good chemistry together. He likes to have fun and she seems to not know what that means.
It was nice seeing the women that needs to hire a date to it always being the male that needs one. A holiday book that was good.
