Stuck in a stressful job and trapped in a toxic relationship, paediatric oncology nurse Hope Rossi needs to run. When her cousin Courtney begs for her help, Hope is on the next bus to Macarthur Point – the quaint seaside fishing village that was home to her happiest childhood memories.Veterinarian Mitchell Davis loves his life in Macarthur Point and loves caring for all creatures great and small … small at the animal hospital he proudly owns. After a troubled upbringing, he’s finally found peace, people who love him unconditionally, and a place to call home.
When Hope comes back to town after fifteen years away, Mitch has no idea whether she’ll still have feelings for him. Fearful of being hurt, Mitch has never admitted how he feels about Hope to anyone – not even her.
How can he hold onto Hope and convince her that staying in Macarthur Point doesn’t mean giving up her freedom? Or should he take a risk and give up the life he’s made for himself for a chance of love, even if that means leaving the one place he feels safe.

What a moving, thought provoking story that brought me to tears on more than one occasion. The setting and characters in this novel moved me. Both Hope and Mitchell had pasts that never released its grip and I loved where the story took them and in turn the reader. Can’t wait for the next one.
I enjoyed every written word of this book. The author gave us well developed and engaging characters that have plenty of chemistry. The storyline flowed smoothly making for a great read.

Hope is a devoted oncology pediatric nurse, but needs a break after getting out of a toxic relationship. Helping her aunt and cousin is the best way for her to regain her self-esteem and control. What she had not counted on was her teenage crush being back and interested in her.
Torn between her love for her job and the love to man and family she has a difficult decision to make.
Well-written and entertaining with a little drama on the side, it was an excellent read .

Once I was an avid reader of Christian fiction, and then I got discouraged because there are very few stories like Holding onto Hope. Let me say that Holding onto Hope is not Christian fiction but I mention Christian fiction because I found out about this author on a Christian blog, and I wanted to read some of her books but never got around to it until this one. I’m a reader who loves stories like this, ones I call “life stories,” ones that let you know life can be messy, but there is still hope.
We need more life stories. I believe they are healing, and they tell us that someone in the world sees us. I understand that most read to escape, but it always seems to be those life stories that give us the motivation to keep going on. I love Hope’s honesty and how she lives life to the fullest. Don’t get me wrong, there are moments in this story where she falters, but don’t we all? That is a part of life. And Mitchell, the guy with real fears, the guy who didn’t mind crying or being honest with his friends about how he felt, I like him because he was an everyday average guy. No billionaire or millionaire, just a guy who loves his friends, family, and enjoys his job.
Holding onto Hope has a happily ever after, but I would call it a life happily ever after, the one you get when you face your fears, allow your soul wounds to be healed, and allow yourself to trust, even if things get messy…the happily ever after where you keep hoping, keep trusting, and keep loving.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a very lovely read about second chance at love. I sat down and read it in one sitting.

I loved this book. Very well developed. There were strong characters and they were all so personable. I want to read each one’s story! The storyline was amazing. Filled with joy and sorrow and many twists and turns. I hope there are many more MacArthur setting books to come! As a side note, I love the dual meaning of the title!
