“I want to be upfront with you. No surprises, no secrets. I want you, Eva. And I think you might be it for me.”Eva is a hot mess running from her past and doesn’t mind telling a fib or two to protect her secrets. It’s too bad that she moved to the nosiest small town in the world with Sheriff Sexy – the tall, built, human lie detector. He’s suddenly showing interest and treating every conversation … conversation like it’s an interrogation. Donovan loves his nice, quiet, hippie town and he’s got some pretty strong feelings when it comes to a certain klutzy redhead, too. But she’s hiding something. Just when he starts to peel back those layers to get to the naked truth, the entire town loses its collective mind – and inhibitions – in what town elders identify as an astrological apocalypse. Can he save the girl from her past and the town from itself?

In Holding on to Chaos we revisit Blue Moon during planetary alignment event that wreaks havoc on the small town and the residents into an uncontrollable disaster waiting to happen. Enter our hero, Sheriff Donovan and his love interest Eva. Donovan will work tirelessly to prevent the “impending apocalypse”, while Eva will have to deal with painful blast from the past. We get to visit with all of our favorite Blue Moon residents and see everything to a happy ending. As with all of Lucy’s Score books, the story is captivating, characters well developed and we get funny, swooney, loving, romantic and steamy all wrapped up in an excellent, must read story!
I laughed my butt off through a chunk of this story. Eva and Donovan have this intense connection and I have been looking forward to their story. I love these two and everything about their determination to be together. Even celestial happenings can’t keep them apart. I’m loving this series so much!!
This was a tad long winded but I honestly still loved it!!!
And just when you think the Blue Moon series can’t get any hotter, Lucy gives you Sheriff Sexy himself, Donovan. And you get another Merill sister. Eva is a mess, lying to everyone and trying to keep it together just long enough to succeed before she spills her guts out. Donovan has been waiting and buying time before he makes Eva his, but he soon learns she needs him more than he realized. And in true Blue Moon fashion this book is pure and utter laugh out loud chaos and something that would only happen in a Lucy Score book!
Reading Holding on to Chaos was an absolutely joyous, laugh out loud experience. I laughed a lot while reading the previous Blue Moon books but Chaos was belly laugh funny throughout. Lucy Score’s sense of humor is remarkable. The zany antics of the denizens of the quirky town of Blue Moon, the closeness of the Pierce family and extended family bond and the heartwarming love stories she gives each book’s couple all combine to make the very best reading experience.
Donovan and Eva’s romance plays out as Blue Mooners succumb to astrological, cosmic chaos. He knew the first time he saw her that this was the woman for him. Biding his time, his patience finally pays off. Eva can’t fathom that Sheriff Sexy could possibly want her. The man is the stuff her fantasies are made of. Unfortunately she’s sitting on a couple of big secrets that could be game changers. Donovan declares his love early and often while Eva struggles to feel worthy of his love and wonders if his feelings aren’t fueled by the Uranus crossing. It tales one of her secrets being revealed for her to finally trust him fully.
Donovan and Eva are awesome. I loved loved loved their story. Their chemistry was hot and I loved how fast and hard they fell for each other.
This whole series I really enjoyed because of the home town feel. I enjoyed the earlier books in the series a little more because of the characters and family but all in all a really nice series
Another 4.5/5. Another enjoyable visit to Blue Moon Bend and the crazy inhabitants thereof. Well edited.
Donovan finally get his HEA! He has shown up in all of the previous stories, and he is finally getting his chance to see his attraction to Eva reciprocated. He has longed for her since he first saw her at Beckett and Gia’s wedding. Eva has been crushing on Donovan almost as long. However, she feels like he would never notice her. Finally, Donovan and Eva realize that the feelings they have individually are really felt by the other party, and an attempt at dating ensues. Unfortunately for them, Blue Moon Bend is in the midst of planetary craziness. Every other person in town is jumping on the crazy train, causing Donovan to get called away every time he tries to draw breath. Add to that, Eva is hiding a couple of really big secrets. One is in regards to her job situation, and while relatively harmless, is still pretty big news. The other, however, has been hounding her all of her life, and is potentially dangerous. Will Eva open up and trust Donovan? Will the craziness ever die down enough for Donovan and Eva to date? Will Donovan finally get the girl he has wanted for more than a year?
I will say that poor Evan seemed to stay twelve/thirteen for an awfully long time. Seemed to me he should be closer to 15 by the time the books ended.
This was just so much fun. I have loved spending time with the Blue Moon Bend crowd. So many good men. So many crazy townspeople. So much strength, love, and loyalty in families. Even the Beautification Committee lost its mind a little in this one. At least the finally came to their senses. Enjoy!
Donovan Cardona is a strong and steadfast man who knows what he wants. And Sheriff Sexy wants Eva Merill, a walking talking disaster zone. Donovan is unwavering and his focus on Eva is laser sharp; Eva is hiding in plain sight and a master of misdirection. Chaotic doesn’t come close to describing Eva and Donovan’s courtship; and I have to say these two were some of my favorite romantic characters ever.
True love never does run smooth, so look for big secrets, family hijinks, Clementine the goat, a kidnapping, and an astrological planetary disaster only affecting Blue Moon (of course)! Also on tap are full on belly laughs, for this is one humdinger of a book. Although it seems like there is a lot of chaos going on, the story is tight and the reader is never left feeling overwhelmed.
This is Lucy Score’s finest work to date. Everything is more with this book. Sexier, shinier, funnier, and it wouldn’t be a Lucy Score book without tons of heart and emotion. I never want to leave Blue Moon, and I hope that Lucy Score never tires of writing about it.
I am addicted to Blue Moon! Move over Pierce brothers and Sheriff Sexy, I’m moving in!!! This story is Captivating, Sexy, Laugh Out Loud Funny, and Blue Moon crazy!!!! The townspeople feel more like friends and family than fictional characters. Lucy does such a fabulous job writing that you feel as if you have known these people your entire life. OHHHH…….And the storyline……Well……..I hereby declare my love and affection for everything Uranus!
I say this often, but only because it is true. Lucy Score is a literary genius! My favorite part of this book is THIS BOOK! It’s Everything! Every character is a beautifully vital part to the story. I want more! I need more! Blue Moon I am under your spell! You must read Holding on to Chaos! Your friends and family have to read Holding on to Chaos! The world needs to read Holding on to Chaos!
4*
Donavan the sheriff has been smitten with Eva since his best friends Becketts wedding to Gia her sister.
Eva has recently moved to Blue Moon to be closer to her family.
She’s used to sorting things herself he’s used to fixing things.
I loved that Eva was her clumsiest self and that Donovan was so determined to prove they should be together.
Another fabulous book.
