Holding Mia was the first book in the Rockers Legacy series by Terri Anne Browning. It was a spinoff from the original Rockers series.
Mia Armstrong was the rock princess of the famous Demon Wing’s frontman, Nick, and Emmie Armstrong (book one, original Rockers series). She had lived her life with bodyguards at every turn and in the public eye for as long as she could remember. She had a plan until an injury took her dreams away and now she was lost. She just wanted to be a normal, average, every day college student. She was making new friends, found a boyfriend, loved her job and school work and things were progressing well. Until they weren’t.
Barrick was former military, a business student and an underground fighter. From the moment he layed eyes on Mia, he knew his life had changed forever and he was in way over his head.
Holding Mia was told primarily from a single POV, Mia’s; however, we were gifted with Barrick’s sporadically as well. I enjoyed the storyline. We knew from the description there was a mysterious, secretive vibe and I enjoyed how it all unfolded.
I also enjoyed the secondary characters and there were quite a few new ones. Fortunately, we’ll see more in a spin off series, Sons of the Underground.
All in all, it was a fast paced, enjoyable and “good feels” book. Not a ton of depth, but enjoyable none the less. Finding Nevaeh is up next and I can’t wait!
Couldn’t put this one down
Now, I know Mia is the daughter of Nik Armstrong and Emmie, whose story I haven’t read (yes, please don’t hate me, I will try to rectify that) but this story rocked my world
The decision to dance is taken away from Mia after a life altering injury. She comes up with a plan to go away to study and teach dance classes for experience to open her own studio. However, she never anticipated Barrick and how he’d make her feel when they first met
A not to be missed story and I can’t wait to read Braxton and Neveah next
In this book we get Mia Armstrong’s story and we are introduced to Barrick. All Mia wants is to be a regular girl. So when she decides it is time for college when she knows she can’t dance any more she wants to go on her own. All the demons are up in arms about it but she talks to her mom and she agrees. Mia knows what she wants and she wants to prove not only to herself but the world that the rock princess is so much more. Barrick takes one look at Mia and thinks mine. The more time he spends with her the more he wants her. What happens though when they let each other in? Will it be a HEA or the end of them forever?
This is an amazing first story in the rocker’s legacy books. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
