A military hero with scars. The son he never knew he had. And the woman he could never forget.
Mira Shipley is far from home, raising her son on her own—and the babysitter has just quit. Then salvation appears, in the messiest—and hottest—form possible: Sam’s real dad, who’s an Army Ranger. Jake Taylor was Mira’s first love—her first everything—and she always vowed that if she ever saw Jake … ever saw Jake again, she’d tell him he had a son. But she wasn’t expecting him to be so wounded and angry. Part of her wants to walk away—but she knows she needs to be patient with him.
That was before he volunteered for childcare duty.
Now they’re under one roof together. There’s no way to keep this alpha warrior at a distance. No way to protect her own heart, or her son’s. No way to deny the wild chemistry between them. It’s a recipe for the deepest intimacy of her life. The most intense connection she’s ever known. And maybe, if she and Jake can both overcome their fears, a recipe for…family.

Wonderful for so many reasons! Loved it!
An exceptional story of persistent, consistent and patient love!
Wow. Hold On Tight is amazing. I don’t remember whether I’ve read Serena Bell’s work before but I absolutely plan to read everything I can get my hands on now because this story blew me away.
Jake Taylor is a wounded veteran. He’s barely holding himself together after his return from the front lines where he lost a friend and someone under his command. He’s not looking for anything, just putting one foot in front of the other, so to speak.
Mira Shipley knows a lot about getting through long days and long nights. Since a whirlwind couple weeks and part of one life-changing night left her a young single mom, she’s done everything she can to make the best life for her son Sam. A chance meeting at the physical therapist puts her and Jake face to face for the first time in eight years and gives her the chance to fill Jake in on a secret.
Serena Bell’s writing is powerful and moving. Mira and Jake are fully-fleshed three-dimensional characters, and their deeply felt emotions sweep us away as well. Their passions and fears are well articulated, opening our hearts and minds to the strengths we choose to bury or reveal. I also greatly appreciated Sam’s characterization; he feels like a seven-year-old kid might, with all his quirks and fears and exclamations.
To be honest, I had a little bit of trepidation because of the initial secret-baby set up, but this is a fabulous story. I loved Hold On Tight and can’t wait for the rest of this series. Serena Bell has won me over completely with this one read.
Another great read by Serena Bell. This was such a cute, sweet, and steamy read. I will say this wasn’t a “foreign” concept but Serena wrote such a sweet twist on this story.
Jackson/Jake and Mira had a fling eight years ago that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. Flash forward 8 years and he comes home after returning from active duty to find out he had a son and how to relearn life. The characters were very well developed and rounded. The characters grew which I loved.
Serena’s writing always keeps me entertained and coming back for more. If you love a military romance, this book will definitely pull you in. I can’t wait to read more of her writing!
