Not fantastic and repetitive
I really enjoyed this book. Although it was an easy read, I found the story very interesting. Because the subject matter is not common in the books I read, I was drawn in and didn’t want to put it down until I finished the story.
Having an American Indian as the lead character was unique as well as giving him shaman skills that he used to connect his mind to the universe. I can’t wait to read about Hokee Wolf in a future novel.
It was interesting and I enjoyed hearing about the Indian traditions.
Good suspense
Main Characters were likable. Setting was an area I enjoy. Quick read.
I am a big fan of mysteries, but not the paranormal type. This book did a fairly good job of keeping me hooked in and I did finish it. At places I thought the plot was a bit thin.
Great flight of fancy – interesting ideas
Quite different than other drama/crime novels. Characters were realistic and plot on a different plain.
Unique and interesting characters and and locales. Highly recommend. Very entertaining by a clearly talented author.
Boring book
I like the beginning when main character was being developed but after awhile it just got boring. could not finish.
excellent character development
Interesting story and good information on the shamans
Fascinating look into Native American lore.
characters were well put together and very interesting and made the essence of the book interesting.
The plot developed during the course of the book, keeping interest up.
Loved the descriptions of the Indian culture and mindset.
An unusual plot. We are presented with a very successful private detective, a finder of people, originally a Navajo abandoned child, a ‘hokee’. Our hero has mental powers so great that this reader’s credulity ended up being so over-stretched that it snapped with the result that I simply skimmed the rest of the book, hence only ‘three stars’.
The premise was good, but I had to stop in the first few chapters. The racial and sexist stereotypes were just too prevalent and I no longer cared what happened to the character
I really enjoyed the characters, and learning about the Native American rituals.
I enjoyed this book… a lot! The information re spiritual practice was terrific. I want more Hokee Wolfe stories!
