I love stories that are about Native American characters, especially when I learn about Native American and spiritual lore or backgrounds. This book has it plus interesting characters. I already ordered and read another of this author’s books because I enjoyed this one so much. I hope he writes more stories with Homer!
Characters too far from reality to be very entertaining. Could use some work on sentence structure and punctuation.
Great book. Really enjoyed it.
I found it interesting enough to read, but it’s a mishmash of mystical beliefs and tests your willingness to throw common sense out the window so the story can proceed. Big handsome Indian detective, stunningly beautiful tv reporter, uninhibited sex, wanders off into some kind of Playboy fantasy. Wouldn’t recommend it
Intriguing and very well written
Didn’t have a feeling of authenticity of Native American culture. Female character stereotypical without much depth. Maybe author can mature over time and in future efforts. Plot reasonably good but no moral dilemmas or choices life presents.
I did not like anything about the book. The story and the characters were not believable. Should be advertised as a fantasy since it was not a detective story.
Fun read, and hot hokee was really a super hero… Love his dog, his girl, his intertwining of indian lore with the story…. hope this fella has more stories with Hokee in them…
It was so unique. Had unexpected solutions. Cross cultural.
This book is a minor mystery with more about the main characters and their development leading to the resolution of the story. Great descriptions of the American West. There is a lot of Native American and Eastern mysticism which I found interesting, but others may find unsettling or far fetched. No cliff hangers, but not tied up in a bow either. Realistic ending.
Still reading, has potential but the jury is still out.
Fun story. The characters were a little too cliche for my taste. I liked the shaman twist.
Juvenile. As an American Indian, I am insulted.
The characters were a little predictable and the story got bogged down with details. The plot was innovative but not quite convincing. Romantic parts were somewhat, overdone and hokey.
Loved it!!!!#
Read like a book report. I couldn’t get past the third chapter.
Totally loved the main character…insights into Native American culture…want more so hope there are more coming in a series
Total crap. Don’t waste your time. There are no redeeming values in this book at all.
Not my cup of tea. Too much like a romance novel and a little overboard on Hokee.
just never took off for content or characters..
VERY difficult for me to even finish
