Mia lives in the North and can’t remember a time when she wasn’t looking over her shoulder. Everyone spies on everyone else and reports to The Eye. It is a land of paranoia—a place of constant fear. He wants to go and find the mysterious, curvy little female but before he can, he runs into her at the transport station.
Mia is scared to death of the huge Kindred warrior. She’s been dreaming of him for months but she assumed It was just that—a dream. Not sure how I feel about this book. I love the Brides of the Kindred Series . I haven’t read each and every book but at least 80% of them. Here we get introduced to a new type of Kindred. Plus a new planet with new “humanoid” people. We learn about the new Kindred but I really feel there isn’t much character development pertaining to Trey. Beast has lots of character. Mia has character but Trey just seems bland. Also the story was flat. Interaction is mainly between Trey and Mia. The action is based in the home except towards the end. So, 3/5 stars.
I never get tired of these Kindred Aliens. Set on a planet with one continent divided in half. Reminds me a country here on earth. Freedom for the South and a police state in the North. Action, drama, spying, kidnapping, imprisonment and of course romance. So much to keep me glued to my kindle. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this Kindred, his beast and the woman of his dreams.
Hitting the Target by author Evangeline Anderson is part of the Kindred Tales series. I love the Kindred. They are sexy, kind, and loyal. Not to mention a little dangerous too.
Mia comes from the north on her world. She is used to being ruled with an iron fist and intimidation. She cannot remember a time she was not looking over her shoulder.
Treygar he is a rare Lei’on Kindred. Has to keep his inner hungry beast at bay. He is on the planet to do genetic trade.
He never expects to find Mia or to fall for her.
This is a beautiful story of trust of and faith. I personally loved the cuddly beast. This story has all the feels in it. I loved it and want more from this series in the future.
Five shooting star and Stardust Award
Another home run out of the park!! I can’t wait for the next one! Love those Kindreds and if sexy aliens who love fluffy girls came to Earth I would be first in line!
This was another good book in the Kindred series. Although I love all of Evangeline’s books, this one included, there was too many political undertones. Maybe the story wasn’t meant to be taken that way, but I could see (read) a lot of it throughout the whole story. It was just kinda annoying to me.
Other than that, it was a great story with a lot of angst and romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this book soo much. Loved Mia’s innocence and strength. Treys kind heart. Especially love the Beast. I think he was my favorite character from this story. This was such a great story and loved that it mirrored alot of current issues we have right now. Cant wait for the next one. Love all the kindred books!!
great addition to the kindred series
Mia is recruited as a spy but it isn’t willingly. Mia is sent beyond the wall to find out information for an awful man. She’s supposed to get close to a Kindred and spy on him. However, when they meet she realizes that they’re mates. Trey is so gentle and patient with Mia, I absolutely loved him and felt so bad that Mia was being blackmailed into deceiving him. This was another fantastic Kindred story and I anxiously wait to see what Evangeline Anderson comes up with next.

Evangeline is fabulous love all her books!
Hitting the Target : A Kindred Tales Novel. (Brides of the Kindred) – Evangeline Anderson
An interesting new world where a “wall” divides two different societies. Think 1984/Brave New World and throw in some of today’s political issues and throw in an intriguing plot and a sexy Alpha Kindred Doctor Shifter (Trey).
Living in fear on the totalitarian side of the planet(under the surveillance of The Eye), Mia hides behind her ordinary appearance as she is not the norm of what is considered desirable (Tall, skinny, blond modelesque). Living with her grandmother ever since her parents were taken away by the government she does her best to take care of the two of them in this hellish existence. Escape is near impossible and 99% of the time results in death.
Mia is recruited by by The Commandant to spy and seduce the Shifter Kindred on the South side of the wall (think free, warm and progressive) who may have new technology they want to steal. They blackmail her by threatening to harm her grandmother. Mia is a BBW who works as an assistant at the care center.
I’m was disappointed that once again there is a virgin heroine, it’s a tiring premise for an adult book and it would have enhanced her story to make her experienced in the horrors of her society.
I also think it would have been awesome for Mia and Trey (The Kindred) to find her parents in the end and reunite the family.
Trey is one of the Shifter Kindred that is on this new world for genetic trading (wouldn’t mind some more stories with his species of Kindred). He is a hot doctor who has drawn the attention of many a female at the care center but feels no attraction until Mia is brought into his life. Turns out the two have been dream sharing.
The author then takes us on their exciting adventure of political intrigue, suspense, sensual tension building into steamy erotic scenes. A very entertaining page turning addition to the Kindred Novels, I would recommend it to any fans of Evangeline Anderson’s amazing sci-fi stories. The peak into the next book involving the “Volt” Kindred looks awesome!
I really enjoyed the story. Each book I read of this author I see so much creativity.
Treygar was a very cool type of Kindred. He was a Lei’on Kindred. I love the direction the author took with this character.
The author did a great job giving a lot of detail when it came to Mia. I think it was very important because to understand Mia you need to understand how she was forced to live. It also helps you understand how much a strong woman she really was.
I love how protective Trey was of Mia but we see that when it comes to Kindred. He was perfect for her and gave her the right amount of space.
I did cry when reading this book. I feel the author really reach in my soul and stirred up my emotions. Sorry will not tell you about what made me cry because it would give to much a way. but I will tell you I did enjoy this book and hope to see of this more of this type of kindred.
This latest offering from the ever prolific mind of Ms. Anderson really delivers. I adore the Kindred and recommend these books to everyone.
This one has a H with a beast inside (not a metaphor, shiver), and a female assassin out to get him, an imaginative and exciting premise.
I can’t tell you any more, just read the book. You’ll love it!
Great steamy romance This was a very enjoyable Kindred tale.
Another phenomenal addition to the Brides of Kindred. As usual this series doesn’t disappoint plenty of intrigue, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hooked from beginning to end so looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
While I do keep harping on how much this series stays the same, in every single book, the formula and characters are exactly the same. It’s only the plot that changes. That’s why I usually rate these only 3 stars. It’s fun, but not a series I’d recommend.
To people who have a cow about ‘politics’, just wow. The ‘politics’ in this book is an alien dictactorship. Yes, there’s a wall. Yes, the author may have gotten the idea from US politics, but she might NOT have. It’s an alien world, stop trying to see the author discussing ‘politics’ when no politics exist. It’s fiction. It’s even science fiction. Every author on the planet gets ideas for books from the news, tv, movies, or coffee shops or bars. Smh.
