I loved the Bishop Brother series and finding out there would be a spin off involving the kids always makes me happy.
This was the first book in this series involving the first born child Riley who wakes up married after a trip to Vegas.
Zoey decides not to sign the annulment papers and give their marriage a chance because their is definitely a connection between them, even if they initially only had that one weekend together.
I love the writing of Kennedy Fox. The bishop brothers series is so incredibly cosy and funny, steamy and just the right amount of angst.
I love small town/rancher romances, especially written by this incredible writing duo.
This can be read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend at least reading Taming Him which features Riley’s origin story? Stephen Dexter really brings Riley to life and I inhaled this story faster the second time than I did the first.
Wedding bells are the last thing on 23 year-old Riley Bishop, but that is what he hears when he wakes up in Vegas next to a woman he just met, his wife Zoey. She is high on life, free spirited and adventurous. Marrying a cowboy after a night of partying is not what she ever expected for herself. Deciding to give the marriage a chance, Zoey moves from her big-city life to a small-town Texas ranch. One moment changes everything, and a secret could destroy them both. – This is a fun book. I loved Riley. He is sweet, loving, and full of life. He has a large loving family and a fun best friend. Zoey is also sweet but does not have the loving family like Riley’s. The author writes in such a manner that it is easy to feel the connection between Riley and Zoey. This is an excellent read.
This story of an accidental marriage was so good. Of course it happens in Vegas, there’s partying and a dare involved. Now Riley and Zoey have to figure out what to do the next morning. They had an instant connection, but very little time to talk it out before planes had to be caught to go home. This is a beautiful story of taking a chance on love. The way Riley’s family take in Zoey blew me away. I’m so addicted to these character’s that I want to be apart of their world. I loved the mature way they handled their situation, they gave their relationship a real chance. I can’t wait to visit Circle B again soon.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a Kennedy Fox book and I am so glad I came back into the Kennedy Fox world with this series. These ladies really know how to grab onto you. From the beginning you can’t help but fall for the sexy cowboy from Texas full who is the biggest sweet heart. Riley and Zoey start off on a crazy Vegas trip. What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. Get ready to fall in love and feel all the feels! This story makes me want to get on a plane to Texas and find myself a cowboy. This is definitely a must read!
I’m a little late to the game on reading Hitching the Cowboy but hot dawgggg! This book is perfection. I needed a good romance to read after reading nothing but thriller reads for awhile and this book made me submerge back into the romance world. And gahh, do these ladies know how to write some cowboys.
This book was so amazing and I can’t wait to read more in this series because this book was everything. I couldn’t put it down. I just need a cowboy of my own please.
This book follows the story of Zoey and Riley. These two meet one day in Vegas and hit it off. Riley is so intrigued by this gorgeous woman and Zoey can’t stop drooling all over the cowboy. They can’t seem to get enough of each other. But when they wake up one morning after a long night of fun, they quickly see the rings shining on their hands and remember that they got married.
They don’t know anything about each other besides their obvious attraction but now they are married and they live in different worlds. What are they going to do? Zoey knows that her perfect family is going to kill her but Riley… he wants her. But he knows she lives in a different state, they are nothing alike, and living on a ranch is hard work.
But this story is so fun and packed with so many emotions. I’m pretty sure I never stopped smiling while reading this story. I’m counting down the days until the next story is in my hands. Being a Texan born and raised, I love me some cowboys.
This book is a sequel from the Bishop Brother‘s Series and the next generation.
We get to meet an all grown up Riley.
As usual the writing was amazing. Kennedy Fox always surprise me with their story telling and story ideas.
We get thrown into the story right in the first chapter and it only gets better.
I already loved Riley‘s character when he grew up during all the Bishop Brother‘s books and seeing him as a grown up man was really great.
I also enjoyed Zoey‘s character and her storyline and I feel like Riley and Zoey are a match made in heaven.
You really need to read those books from Kennedy Fox. Easily one of my favorite book series
I am not one to read romance with cowboys, but I’m seriously glad I read this one. Because I really loved this one!
Riley and Zoey are so cute together! This is a fun, fast, heartwarming story with a bit of drama that might bring on the waterworks. And I feed on that drama. I sometimes don’t prefer dramas on certain books, but this one I love! This book hit my heart in all the right places! I laughed, I cried, I swooned!
Now I’m dying to read Diesel’s book!! I can’t wait cos I know it’ll be good!
Pure Perfection….
Kennedy Fox does not disappoint! Hitching the Cowboy checks off all the box! I loved getting lost in this storyline! I can’t wait for the next book! Curl up with this book on a cold Fall night is just pure perfection! Well done!
I love the Bishop family! Accidental marriage is one of my favorite tropes, but this one is in my top 3 of all time. The relationship between Riley and Zoey is so much more enjoyable since they took the time to get to know one another before the marriage took place. The fact that they both were willing to make it worth and see if it wasn’t a mistake, made my heart burst. Their chemistry is undeniable and I love the Bishop clan even more after this book (I didn’t think that was possible). Another hit for the amazing Kennedy Fox and I can’t wait for more in the Circle B Ranch series!!
I can’t imagine waking up married to a stranger, but Kennedy Fox does a great job of it. I loved reading Riley and Zoey’s story. I found Zoey to be a free spirit who loves her family. The friendship between Graham and Diesel was very entertaining. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.
Riley Bishop is in Las Vegas with his best friend Diesel and the two are ready for some fun. Riley and Diesel are known for their bets with each other and it is costly to refuse one. The stakes have never been so high and Riley wakes up one morning to his new “wife” beside him.
Zoey Mitchell has never felt so free as when she was in Vegas with Summer. Now she finds herself married and really wanting to give her marriage a go even though it means uprooting herself to the unknown.
Can Zoey and Riley find the love and happiness that they both want and deserve? Will Zoey be honest with Riley about her own life or will her secrets destroy everything?
This was such a good book and I enjoyed it from start to finish.
I thought the bets between Riley and Diesel were hilarious but when Diesel did the marriage bet I was completely shocked! I can’t believe he would do that and Riley wouldn’t just pay up. I really liked Riley and knew how much chemistry he had with Zoey and would never intentionally hurt her.
Riley was a really good guy and I wanted him to be happy and he really had that once Zoey came and he was able to be the husband that he wanted to be.
Zoey was a breath of fresh air and I was shocked that she agreed to marry him but once we got a closer look at Zoey and what she was running from things began to make sense.
I gave Zoey so much credit for coming out to see Riley and trying to give their marriage a go. I loved how welcomed she was into his family and how she really found a sense of peace at the Ranch. I loved all of the Bishop family and how they embraced Zoey and made her feel at home.
I knew why Zoey needed to return but I was absolutely shocked at who arrived at the ranch and how everything went down. I was mad at Zoey for not telling Riley anything and I understood why he was so upset. I was glad that she tried to explain things but I was upset that she left Riley after everything.
I was so proud of Zoey for how everything went in Phoenix and was glad that she was open with her parents finally. I was glad that Zoey made the right decision and made everything perfect again!!
Looking forward to what is coming next!!

Epic warning: there will be a lot of swooning in this review. You have been warned. 😉
Okay. So. Huh. Wow. I need to get myself together to write a full review. I have finished reading this book like a week ago and I still can not stop thinking about this story. I am still completely speechless. If you follow me on any social media sites I am sure you know, but if not: I am a huge fan of Kennedy Fox novels, especially their Bishop Brothers series. These books have a special place in my heart, I love rereading them, this family is simply everything and you feel while you are reading these stories that you want to be a part of that family and you just want to hug everyone. When I have finished reading the Bishop Brothers series, I wanted to read more about this family, just as two of my amazing friends and many more romance readers, and in July, Lyra and Brooke have announced that they are writing the stories of the next generation of Bishops. You can imagine how happy I was. I couldn’t even believe it. And then that was not everything! They also mentioned that the first book will be released in November. THIS November. Almost unbelievable. And now we are here, and the first next generation book is released. It is even more unbelievable.
Now, I thought that this obsession can not be increased. I didn’t think I could be even more addicted to these characters. I. Was. Wrong. Hitching the Cowboy takes this obsession to a whole new level.
“Dad, this is my wife.” (…)
Mr. Bishop coughs to cover up his shock, causing Riley to smack him hard on the back. “Breathe, Old Man.”
“No, I think you’re trying to kill me,” he says, swallowing hard. “Because I heard you say wife, and there is no way my only son would get married without telling me first.”
Riley grunts, rolling his eyes. “Now you’re being more dramatic than Mom.”
“Oh God, your mother knows? Does she still have a pulse?” he asks seriously. “Better yet, how are you still standing after she whipped your ass?”
Wow. Let me put myself together again, becasue writing this review gives me all the feels again. It is just so good being back at the Bishop ranch and reading about this family. It feels like home. It is home. And I really don’t want to cry again, but oh my goodness I cried so much reading this book. Mostly because of reading about the “original” Bishops again. Don’t ask, I don’t really know why. It just felt so good reading about them being happy and successful and oh I will cry again.
I loved the way Alex looked at River, they are still so in love and happy together.
I loved the bater between the brothers.
I loved the banter between Rowan and Riley. I loved that Riley is such a protective brother, he just wants the best for her little sister, who does not really want his brother to protect her from everything, but it is so visible that they love each other.
I loved that there is so much love in this family.
Diesel and Riley… Totally friendship goals. I want more Diesel and Riley moments. A lot more.
I loved that we could meet Fisher, Courtney and Drew’s son from This is Reckless and This is Effortless.
I loved Mama Bishop, she is definitely the best bookish grandma ever.
I just simply loved this book.
“And stay away from my sister.” I jab my finger hard into his chest. “I’m serious.”
“We’ll see,” he taunts. “Don’t you want me as a brother-in-law?” He proceeds to kick of his dirty boots, dried mud falling on the floor.
“Hell no,” I say with a smirk. “That will be the day hell freezes over.”
He shrugs. “Imma make you an uncle one day!”
Riley is absolutely just like his father. Like father, like son. I mean… Alex is back at the ranch with a pregnant girl, and now Riley is back with a wife. Life is full of events on the Bishop ranch.
It was so much fun reading about Riley, oh my goodness he is such a sweetheart. I think I adore his story even better than his father’s. And these are big words coming from an avid Bishop Brothers fan like me. Seriously, when I finished reading the Bishop Brothers, I didn’t think it could be possible for me to love a book even more. But it is. Don’t get me wrong, I am still completely in love with those stories, but at the same time… At the same time, Riley Bishop happened and he stole my heart and swept me off my feet. The very same happened with Diesel. I just love that guy.
Riley is the spitting image of his father. He is totally a Southern gentleman, he has such an amazing personality, it is impossible not to love him. He is so hard-working, loving, kind, sweet, funny, determined, confident, caring and oh siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. Can I have a Riley Bishop? Pretty please? Pleaseeeeeeeee.
As I have already mentioned before, Zoey is definitely one of the best bookish heroines I have ever read about. Yes, she may do something that causes some problems, but at the end of the day, I am so proud of her. I am so proud of her because she does not let other people control her life. She does what she wants and feels that is the best for her. She does not want that cookie cutter life her parents want for her. I absolutely loved when she finally confessed that to them, she can be such an inspiring character. Zoey and Riley… The sweetest bookish couple EVER. They are so perfect together. I didn’t want that book to end. Okay, I need a reread.
Lyra and Brooke are so awesome in writing bookish best friends, Diesel is definitely one of the best and I want more and more and more Diesel moments. And we will get more. Mark your calendars: March 24th, 2020. Catching the Cowboy. Is it too early to start counting down the days?
After we help her move every single box, she thanks me with a hug. Then she turns to Diesel and gives him a handshake and a glare.
“I’ll take a kiss as a thank you.” He leans down, pointing at his cheek.
“Will you turn back into a toad if I do?” she jokes, playfully slapping his arm.
“No, sweetheart, I’m already your prince.”
Taking everything into account, all I need to say is: all the Southern stars. This book deserves all the Southern stars. And even a lot more. This book is EVERYTHING a romance reader needs. You NEED Riley Bishop in your life. You NEED the whole Bishop family in your life. And you NEED Diesel too. OMG, that guy is everything, he is my life, I want to read more about him. These characters have a very special place in my heart, I am obsessed with them, but Hitching the Cowboy takes everything to the next level. So adorable. So emotional. So inspiring. This book is so good I wanna cry. Words can not express how much I adore Riley & Zoey’s story. I tried to find one, but nothing is good enough. Hitching the Cowboy is a small town romance at its finest. I was already super obsessed with the Bishop Brothers series, but Hitching the Cowboy takes this obsession to the next level. This next generation is E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. God this book is definitely jaw dropping in the best way possible.
Romance readers, witout any questions, it is a MUST READ for you. Buckle up, because Riley Bishop is ready to steal your heart and he won’t give it back to you. And you won’t even want it back.
Absolutely a six stars favourite. For me, it is definitely one of the best books of 2019. Go and read it. You will thank me later.
4.5 stars
It feels so good to be back at Circle B Ranch especially when there are sexy swoony cowboys like Riley roaming around. *dreamy sigh* This next generation of Bishops are really holding their own.
I loved this book. Hitching the Cowboy was a super sweet read with a lots of heart, small town charm, family feels and even a little bit of drama. Kennedy Fox hooked me right in from the start. I hadn’t read a good waking up married story in a while. So this was just what I needed.
After a wild weekend full of bachelorette parties and 21st birthday celebrations, Riley and Zoey find themselves married to one another. (Which I find hilarious because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This scenario is something similar to what Riley’s Dad, Alex did. Those Bishop men and Vegas don’t mix.) Instead of immediately annulling the marriage they decide to stick it out. I liked seeing them get know each other – take that intense initial red hot chemistry and slowly build it to a lasting love. Gah! So swoony.
My heart is so happy after reading this book. It’s cute and quick and I just adored everyone. It never gets old seeing some of my old favorites. And now, I’m very intrigued by some new faces. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
5 Hitched Stars!!!
Yes!!! We’re finally back at the Circle B Ranch and man what a story. If you read Kennedy Fox’s Bishop Brothers Series then you should remember the first book Taming Him . It was River and Alex’s story. They met on vacation and nine months welcomed Riley. In Hitching The Cowboy Riley’s all grown up.
Riley and his best friend/roommate/coworker Diesel are headed to Las Vegas for a few days to celebrate Diesel’s 21st Birthday and yup they’re ready to party.
Riley is 110% a Bishop guy lol. If you read his dad & uncles stories you’ll remember the practical jokes, goofing off and their dares. Be prepared bc Riley’s no different and Diesel has been a part of this family since him and Riley met In elementary school.
Riley dares Diesel to enter an amateur stripper contest, which Diesel excepts. While there Riley spots a beautiful girl named Zoey. Next few days the guys keep running into Zoey and her sister & their friends. Their last night they all hang out after getting really drunk Diesel dares Riley to marry Zoey.
When they wake up the next day it takes them a min to remember exactly what happened the night before. Then the next minute Riley has to pack his things and go home but he doesn’t wanna leave Zoey.
Zoey wasn’t expecting to go away for her sisters bachelorette party away. Her sister is marrying her college sweetheart and she’s happy for her.
Zoey is a hairdresser and while she loves her job it wasn’t what her parents expected her to do. She doesn’t like the guy they’ve been trying to marry her off too either. So she was looking forward to getting away from them for a few days.
Zoey wasn’t expecting to meet Riley, let alone marrying him. She was sad when he had to leave the next day.
For the next few weeks he was the main on her mind morning, noon and night. Zoey decided to pack her bags and drive to where Riley lived. Zoey just hopes that after everything Riley won’t push her away and that he’d give them a shot and maybe they could work out.
Riley was shocked and excited when Zoey showed up on the Ranch. From that instant he knew she belonged there with him and luckily his parents fully understand and support them.
Zoey can’t believe how heartwarming and welcoming Riley’s family is. Plus how supportive they are of their instant marriage, their jobs and just them period. Zoey feels welcomed and loved for in a way she’s never felt in her life living with her family.
They both want this relationship. But. Zoey’s family is the only thing in their way. But together these two will do anything to make it work.
I couldn’t put this down once I started it!! Riley and Diesel had me laughing so hard at times I had tears rolling down my cheeks. Let’s not forget the Bishop brothers are back and still swoon worthy. Alex as a dad giving advice and jokes is still sexy.
I’m looking so forward to Diesel and Rowan’s story. I need it NOW!! Lol
In Hitching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox, we go back to the Circle B Ranch for the next generation of Bishop’s and I could not be more excited. While spending time in Vegas separately, Riley Bishop finds himself married to Zoey Mitchell. Though they are shocked, they want to give their marriage a try. The attraction and chemistry is there and neither can deny it, however, do they have what it takes to make it the long haul?
I loved Zoey. She was such a strong woman. Riley was charming, sexy and such a good man. Though they were married, they shared a slow burning romance as they got to spend time together and got to know each other. I loved watching them fall in this sweet and charming romance!
Happy reading!
Hooked from the very beginning of this read and absolutely loved the premise. These two were such fun characters and I could not get enough of their dynamics and relationship and seeing how their relationship progressed. This book had me laughing out loud and was definitely the light heart fun I needed for my soul..
I’m never surprised when I crack open a Kennedy Fox Cowboy Romance and immediately feel like I’m back at home.
Which is ironic considering I dislike most Cowboy romances. But Hitching the Cowboy just proves how easily KF writes the best cozy reads!
Zoey and Riley were the bees knees! This book definitely doesn’t have as much angst like their duets do, but it is just as much a page turner as every other book I’ve read by them! I love the instant yet genuine attraction between these two characters. The family aspect is forever string in the series and I may just love that the most!
If you’re looking for the perfect read to curl up with my a fire while drinking hot apple cider with your dog in the late hours of the evening, Hitching the Cowboy is it!
Hahahahaha it’s never a dull moment with the Bishops!!!! Riley and Zoey story reminded me of his parents love story. These two met in Vegas and one drunken night led to a marriage. It was funny it was sad it was pure Bishop. Riley’s family was surprised but welcomed Zoey with open arms. Her family on the other hand was a completely different story; she was hiding a secret from Riley. Riley took it like a champ while Zoey sort out issues with her family. Riley was there to pick up where they left off. Great read with funny banters and alpha cowboys. The younger generation of Bishop boys are just like the older ones, intense and alpha.
I feel like I start almost every review for a Kennedy Fox book in this manner, but it’s always a good time to return to a KF book again. They are some of my favorite romance writers, and my favorite writing duo. I love how easily I can slip into this world, and lately, their books definitely make me want to visit the South. This story brings us back to Texas and the Bishop Brothers world, but it’s now a story about the previous series’ kids. So if you remember from Taming Him, which follows River and Alex (full review found here), this story follows their son, Riley. A lot of time has passed since Riley is 23, but it’s so nice to see all the characters we’ve grown to know and love from the last series, and also see mention of people like Grandma Bishop, and even Drew and Courtney. Although, I should stop saying kids, since they are grown up and this is their happily ever after now.
Riley follows in the footsteps of his parents and definitely finds love on a whim when he visits Las Vegas with his friend Diesel. There he meets Zoey, who doesn’t come from an overly warm family, but she is close with her sister, Summer. The trip for her is to celebrate Summer’s bachelorette, but she is drawn to Riley. They only know each other for a few days, they spend the night together, Riley returns home thinking that is the end of things. There is a clear connection between the two, and even though Zoey mails him annulment papers which he signs, she finds herself driving across country to see if this is the real deal and to give it a shot.
We see so many stories of the build up to the relationship and the will they or won’t they, but I really appreciate stories like this one which just focuses on them getting to know one another, with the intention of being together. You see them grow as a couple and just spend more time as a couple doing regular things. I especially loved moments when Zoey would go off and spend time with his family, but then come back and tell him about it. You got to see their relationship blossom, but also see how Zoey really comes to find her place within the Bishop family.
This was an incredibly sweet story, and Riley is definitely reminiscent of Alex. When they fall, they fall hard. I loved seeing that vulnerability present in Riley. I also just loved seeing him swoon over Zoey and just fall for her more and more. It was so sweet, and like his father, he knew exactly the right things to say. He made her feel loved, but he also made he feel that this was now her home too.
As with all KF books, the friendship circle and family dynamics are always a fun addition too. I did find Diesel to be a bit over the top at times, but I’m excited to see how his story will work out in the next book with Riley’s younger sister, Rowan. If you are a fan of KF books, this is a nice sweet treat! If you haven’t started yet, there is a prequel/novella available called Roping the Cowboy to start you off! 😉
4.5 stars.
It feels so good to be back in the ranch with the Bishops!! If you know and love Kennedy Fox, then you also love the Bishop family and will be so happy to go back to this world. But, also, if you are not familiar with this family, you can totally read Hitching the Cowboy as a standalone.
Hitching the Cowboy is a second generation story and I’m a huge fan of going back and seeing the kids all grown up. Riley Bishop is such a fun guy, I just had such a fun time reading this story. He’s a family man, a great best friend, a super hard worker, and incredibly sexy, so, what else do you really need?
I loved Zoey, though I do wish we had gotten a bit more of her at home before she heads to Texas. Though, that move makes complete sense later on in the story with that unexpected reveal. I loved watching her decide what to do with her life while also bonding with different members of Riley’s family. I loved that it wasn’t all about Riley, but also about her bond with the family.
I loved watching Riley and Zoey together as they developed their relationship. I loved that they were willing to see how they fit with each other and explored their chemistry before making any major decisions.
I’m so excited to read Rowan’s story!!! I’m more than ready to see what her and Diesel get up to!
