Wedding bells are the last thing on twenty-two year old Riley Bishop’s mind, but that’s exactly what he hears after waking up in Vegas next to a woman he just met—his new wife. He never saw her coming, but she might be worth the risk.Zoey Mitchell is high on life, free spirited, and adventurous. However, learning she married a rowdy cowboy after a night of partying is not what she expected—even … what she expected—even for her.
She’s risking it all, gambling with her heart.
Deciding to give their instant marriage a chance, Zoey moves from her big city life to a small town Texas ranch. She has to know if their connection is based on more than just a wild one-night stand before announcing to her family that she got hitched.
One moment changes everything—for better or worse—and a secret could destroy them both.
This is a full-length stand-alone novel in the Circle B Ranch series and a spin-off from the Bishop Brothers series. You don’t need to read any of the other books beforehand to enjoy this one!

Circle B Ranch has become home. The stories, the relationships and the love of family just keep me coming back for more!
Hitching the Cowboy is the story of Riley and Zoey, two strangers who end up married in Vegas all because of a dare. I love the intense connection between the city girl and the country boy, two people who are total opposites yet feel something so very real. The witty banter, the sexual tension, and their overall relationship had me swooning! I also enjoyed reading about all the Bishops again and fell in love with them all over again!
Rate: +5/ 5 stars
I don’t know how these ladies do it. BUT they make me fall more in love with their writing and characters with each new book.
It feels like I waited years for this book, it was something me and a friend dreamed about and ever since it was announced, we have been ecstatic and counting down the days, And to finally read this book and fall in love with it from the very first page… the wait couldn’t have been more worth it.
Being back at the Circle B Ranch and with all the Bishops and their friends is the best thing ever!! Getting to see all the little ones grown up and living their own lives, falling in love or getting in trouble was so so fun. The relationships they have, the banter, the sibling playfullness was so great. AND the parent-kids relationships were so great to see too. I, of course, wish I had seen more of Jackson but we did get to see or hear about most of the characters we had met before. All the Bishops and their wives are awesome parents and I loved seeing them again so much.
There are many parallels that can made between Riley and Alex and I loved that, it truly was like father, like son ahah. I love them both but I think Riley definitely stole his father’s place. I loved him from the very first second, he was so fun and sweet. And gosh, his friendship with Diesel gave Alex and Dylan a run for their money and I dare say, they totally beat them ahah. Their dares were epic!
Riley and Diesel’s trip to Vegas was hilarious. I swear I was laughing my but off with these two and their shenanigans. And when Riley first saw Zoey, you could see that there was already something pulling them together and I enjoyed how everything between them played out in Vegas. It was fun and oh so sexy.
Back at the ranch, Riley is bummed out for having to leave Zoey in Vegas so soon, so when she shows up a few months later to give their marriage a real shot, he’s simply over the moon. Watching him with her and putting a real effort into their relationship, and making her not only fall in love with him but with the Ranch and his whole family was super sweet. I love this family so so much and Zoey just proved once again how impossible it is not to fall in love with all of them.
I simply loved this book and I have a feeling this whole series is gonna be bomb and even better than the Bishop Brothers, which coming from me is truly saying something because that is one my favorite series. We got to see a lot of Rowan too cause she’s Riley’s sister and all the little bread crumbs we got of her book had me dying… I CANNOT WAIT. Rowan and Diesel, I’ll be waiting for you. Very impatiently. Brother’s best friend to lover is MY JAM and I mean Diesel was so so fun and crazy, I can’t wait to see him in all his glory in his own book. #GIVEME
Hitching the Cowboy was automitically in my top Kennedy Fox books since the very first chapters and although it is a lot more funny than it is angsty, it does have the perfect amount of angst to get you going. This book was simply fantastic and I’m already dying for more books in this series! I hope and pray more books will be announced in this series and that KF just keep on coming with more Circle B Ranch goodness.
Thrilled to be back at the Circle B Ranch with more Bishops! 5 sparkly horseshoes for this one!
Meet Riley Bishop, hard worker at the ranch, he and Diesel are headed to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate Diesel’s birthday! What trouble could they get into right?
Zoey, hairdresser, never living up to what her parent’s expect from her. When her sister Summer’s bachelorette party is being held in Vegas, she can’t wait because with her sister and friends, she will have fun and let loose! What could possibly happen there right?
When Riley sees Zoey across the room, he’s immediately taken with her, and when they make eye contact, sparks fly. He & Diesel end up spending the next morning and evening with the girls and all bet’s are off.
Kennedy Fox did a great job on this one, and I can’t wait for more cowboys! Diesel is up next!!
Well it’s another great book from these authors.
What happens when you go to Vegas? Or some, you end up married! Riley & Zoey marry one Vegas… can they make it last after Vegas? This book is so worth the read!
Gahhh How I love Kennedy Fox and that Bishop family especially them boys!!! First can I say it was awesome getting to “see” everyone again. I love when it feels like you have come home after a long vacation…lol Now let me say this can be read as a stand alone but it’s so much sweeter when you’ve read the entire series. So sometimes everything that happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. And Riley Bishop is about to find out if Zoey is a good or bad thing that didn’t stay there. But those Bishop men fall hard and fast even with every one warning him to take it slow. Zoey has always tried to make her parents proud of her and followed what they have wanted for the most part. She knows they would never approve of Riley or the ranch. They have her life mapped out for her she just needs to decide what path she’s going to take. But she’s keeping secrets and if they get exposed it might decide everything for her and break a lot of hearts in the process. As always Kennedy Fox pulled me in from the first paragraph and I couldn’t put the book down to I was completely done with it. They have me memorized every single freakin amazing time they put a book out. And I’m really running out of words to describe these two. It’s like most of my favorites are coming in pairs now. And Kennedy Fox is definitely a set of them!!! 5 stars isn’t enough for this book but it’s the best I can give it. By Tina
Hitching the Cowboy, is a typical Kennedy Fox book. Fun and light!
‘What happens in Vegas…’ yeah, not that easy when it’s happening to you now, is it?!
Riley Bishop wakes up in a hotel with a woman…which turns out to be his new wife.. I enjoyed the journey on Riley and Zoey getting to know each other, while they’re trying to see if married life are something for them.
-Stina, A Woman & Her Books.
Oh my gosh, I loooved Hitching the Cowboy!!! I was a HUGE fan of all of the Bishop Brothers, and when I found out Kennedy Fox was doing a next generation series, I couldn’t have been happier.
I absolutely FLEW through this book. Riley and Zoey were as sweet as can be!!! Seeing all the Bishops together again was icing on the cake. I’ve always been a little iffy on Vegas weddings in novels. I’m about 50/50 when it comes to them. I think Kennedy Fox did a GREAT job with it. The chemistry between Riley and Zoey was so spot on.
I’m so ready for more from Circle B Ranch!!! The next book will feature one of my FAVORITE tropes and I can tell it’s going to be JUICY.
Wow, this was such a wonderful addition to the Bishop siblings stories. I loved Riley’s parents story & his was just as entertaining. When you’re conceived on ur parents hookup in Key West, exactly how can your meet up with your forever compare. You have to have a drunken impromptu marriage while in Vegas! A long angst, hilariously funny romance with lots of panty melting chemistry. Zoey is sweet, sassy & a little mixed up about life, but when she meets a dirty talking cowboy she finds her place in life. These characters were well written & very likable.
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
Another unputdownable read from Kennedy Fox!
Riley and Zoe are two characters that you will fall head over heels for. Their chemistry and connection is off the charts. Not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally. Although these two characters may have had a slightly rough start, where it wasn’t all perfect, you can tell that they truly wanted to try and make things work. They were acting in what they thought was everyones best interests, and they only wanted everyone to be happy.
I loved seeing Riley and Zoe’s relationship progress, and getting to go back into the Bishop Brothers!
If you haven’t read this incredible author duo yet, you are missing out. Grab out of their books today!
5/5 Stars!
Its like a family reunion with these Cicrle B Ranch books. I have missed the Bishop family and am loving these second generation tales. Means I get to see my old favourites mixed with their kids, now all grown up.
This one is quite a sweet one for Kennedy Fox. It has some steam but its quite mild in comparison to their usual writing. It was a quick and easy book for me to read as once I started I was hooked.
Riley meets Zoe when he heads to Vegas to celebrate his friend Diesel’s birthday. The connection between them is instant and off the charts electric which is probably why they end up married!! What I loved most is after Zoe has travelled to the circle B ranch to see if there is more to her and Riley then an instant connection, they really built up their relationship, strengthening it.
So can’t wait for the next book in this series and Catching the Cowboy
I fall more in love with KF after every book. I have a secret love of cowboy romance, so I was especially looking forward to this one, and I wasn’t disappointed!
I loved all of the characters and enjoyed reading about the Circle B Ranch. I need to go back and read that series ASAP!
I don’t want to give any tiny bit of this book away, but do yourself a favor and grab it!
What happens in Vegas…
Heads back to Circle B Ranch…
As Mr. and Mrs. Bishop????
Zoey Mitchell and Riley Bishop no longer buy into the old adage that ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ and while they got hitched because of a dare, their connection is more than evident and just might be something to take a chance on, even if their lives are as different as two can be.
I adore the Bishop crew, so heading back to Circle B Ranch is always a good time, and with the situation that Riley and Zoey find themselves it, it’s bound to send this extremely close knit family into a tailspin of hysterics and hilarity.
Zoey seems to fit in with the Bishop brood so easily, and while they’re a lot to take in, the fact that they love each other and have one another backs is something Zoey would love to be a part of, especially given the relationship she has with her own parents.
While the story’s plot line was a bit predictable, watching it all unfold from both Riley and Zoey’s perspective adds a well-rounded look at what they’re up against and how a drunken mistake just might be the best thing that ever happened to both of them.
4 Poison Apples
Let’s start off by saying this is a brand new author for us and we really enjoyed out first read by them.
We really enjoyed the story it had a cute plot and it was loaded with humor and the entire story had a great bunch of characters.
Riley we loved instantly from being introduced to him as he was sexy and funny and I love how close he was to his family and how protective he was of his sister but, most of all we loved that he had know problem putting his feeling out their and being a little bit vulnerable.
Zoey was one of those characters you had to warm up to its not that she wasn’t personable because she was funny and could be out going but, she had a problem standing up for herself and we new she had it in her to be strong and take what she whats but, when push comes to shove will she cave or find the happiness she deserves.”Because of this we kept seeing a trail of broken hearts and heartache in this couple future.”
We loved the chemistry these two had it was clear they were meant for one another but, it was going to take more than one of them to fight for the future they could have.
Overall we found the story to be cute and entertaining had a great cast of characters and we loved the usual courtship where one tries to woo the women they are already married to as it made us smile throughout the entire story as some of the scenes were cute and endearing. A great light read and we are so looking forward to Rowan and Diesel’s story.
What Happens in Vegas… Nah! What a great addition to the Bishop Kids. Riley is such a carbon copy of his dad! And the things that happen in his world seem to be shaping up right along the way. I absolutely love the Bishop family and the happenings of the Circle B Ranch. With the perfect amount of angst and exceptional words to make you fall in love along with Riley and Zoey. Has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the book 3.
I love the Bishop Brothers series by Kennedy Fox, and I was so excited when I realized their new series centered around the children of the brothers. In “Hitching the Cowboy,” we are propelled into the future to the Circle B Ranch where we find Alex’s son Riley, hard at work, and as handsome as his father. Riley had planned a weekend in Las Vegas with his best friend and roommate, Diesel, and we all know what happens there. Nothing good, and certainly nothing you want to talk about when you get home.
Riley and Zoey were instantly attracted to each when their eyes met across the busy nightclub. Riley never thought he would see her again and he knew that lady luck was on his side when their paths crossed the next morning in the hotel. Zoey was beautiful and funny and he desperately wanted to get to know her. Zoey loved her job as a hairdresser and was lucky to have followed her heart in pursuing the career that she wanted. She hadn’t lived up to her parents expectations and she was using this weekend to relax and just live in the moment. She thought that Riley was handsome and sexy and she knew in her heart they had met for a reason. When you meet the right person you just know it, because love doesn’t follow any rules and can happen in an instant.
What happens when Zoey arrives at the ranch? Will she adapt to ranch life or miss all the comforts of home?
Will Riley welcome Zoey with open arms, and can he convince her to stay and make a life with him on the ranch?
Hitching the Cowboy is the second book of the Circle B Ranch series. This series is about the next generation of the famous Bishop clan. I read all the books in the Bishop Brothers series and loved them all. Kennedy Fox has always been an author duo I enjoyed reading. Their books have the perfect amount of sexiness, suspense, and angst with some humor added to balance it all out.
Riley and Zoey…..
Riley is Alex and River Bishop’s son. If you’ve read Alex’s book, Taming Him, you will see a lot of similarities. The premises were slightly different however, I felt like Hitching the Cowboy was a book I’ve read before. It was very predictable. Not to say I didn’t enjoy it, because I did award four stars. I just didn’t love it. I won’t give any spoilers so you can read without hints from me.
Zoey was one of those heroines who gave her parents too much control. She was an adult and her parents had no respect for her. I did not enjoy any parts of the book with Zoey’s parents. And don’t even let me get started with how much I despised Benjamin and his parts in the book.
My very favorite characters in this story were Riley and Diesel. The friendship between these two was everything. The comradery and banter between them made me smile and giggle often.
In the end, I was satisfied with how everything worked out. The next book in the Circle B Ranch series is with Diesel and Riley’s sister, Rowan. Since I adored Diesel in this book, I’m looking forward to reading his story.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
First, Congratulations Kennedy Fox… I truly not expected the shift on your writing. It’s completely opposite on what I’ve anticipated. The brilliance of your writing is undeniably superb.
Damn Riley, you’ve grown up such a fine cowboy.
It’s lovely to go back to Circle B ranch and see on a different level hows the Bishops family getting along, especially with the next generations coming.
Riley and Zoey’s story is your typical Vegas story, get drunk and get married…spur of the moment. I was expecting that Riley had the past and not Zoey…
You’ll see how Riley loves and cares for Zoey but it changed few weeks after Zoeys been living in the ranch.
It was a test for both of them, sometimes its not just the male lead who had issues but the heroine.
Welllll. We’ve heard the saying what happens in Vegas…
Sometimes what you find in Vegas May Be exactly what you were looking for your entire life.
Riley, River & Alex’s (Taming Him) son… love his heart.
Zoey, feels invisible in her own skin with a family that is constantly disappointed.
Across a crowded club Riley sees who he thinks is the most beautiful girl in the world!
Fast forward 48-hours… they’re married!! Good Lord that was fast!!
I simply adored this story!!! I love them.
Highly recommend!!
Kennedy Fox
I want to be a member of the Bishop family. I love that this series is continuing and we get to experience the kid’s journeys. Riley and Diesel head to Vegas to celebrate Diesel’s birthday. These two know how to have fun and get in a little bit of trouble. One dare leads to another and Riley finds himself married to Zoey. But is this really a problem except that they live in different states. Zoey wants the freedom to be herself but her family continues to pressure her to be what they want. She lets loose in Vegas and wakes up a married woman to a cowboy that sets of sparks within her. When Zoey shows up at the Bishop ranch to see if what they felt in Vegas is something real, will these two find their happily ever after? Or will Zoey crumble under the weight of family expectations? These two have that instant connection which leads to a fun night in Vegas. I loved that when Zoey went to Riley, they slowed down their relationship and dated each other, getting to know one another which provided several sweet and funny moments. Of course, the love of the Bishop clan is hard to fight as Zoey finds herself embraced by this large, loving family. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Going back to the Circle B ranch is like going home after a long vacation……and I just loved getting to take another trip there in Hitching the Cowboy! I just loved this story so much and I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading Riley and Zoey’s story (even in those not so fun moments at towards the end). These two were just a match made in heaven, even if they were complete opposites. She was a city girl and obviously Riley was a country boy. Even though things moved very quickly after that first glance across a bar in Vegas (gotta love the dares Riley and Diesel give each other)….it was obvious that there was a connection there that neither of them had felt before.
I really enjoyed getting to read about the Bishop kids all grown up, as well as catching up with the original Bishop family we have come to know and adore (seeing the relationship Riley has with his parents is fantastic). I also wrote in my notes early on while reading that Diesel and Rowan better be up next, and I was super excited to see at the end of the epilogue that their story is coming in the spring!! Can’t wait for that next trip back to the ranch!!
