It’s time to return to Happy Cat and to learn more about Blake and Hope, the couple who loves to hate each other.
This book is laugh out loud funny, seriously if you plan to read this in public be prepared for weird looks because you will get them. This book can be read as standalone, however, I would HIGHLY recommend you read the other books in this series because they are just as hilarious and you’ll get to know a lot of the secondary characters and animals. If you have read the previous brother’s stories you know some of the history between Hope and Blake, but there is a MAJOR secret they have been keeping from everyone for years.
Hope St. Claire runs the animal sanctuary in Happy Cat, she is also known to fry every electrical circuit in town. Blake O’Dell is working to get his winery going, but keeps running into issues. Hope needs a husband ASAP and Blake is the man for the job. She needs to keep her animals safe, specifically the beloved alpaca, Chewpaca. Will they be able to put aside the differences and their issues and make this “marriage” work?
I couldn’t get enough of this book. I love Blake and Hope and their electrifying chemistry. The bingo scene was priceless, seriously, you’ll know once you read it. Of course, there is plenty of Chewpaca and of course, everyone’s favorite trash panda, George Cooney and the rest of the O’Dell family.
If you’re looking for a laugh out loud, marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers romance this is a MUST READ!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
She’s the last woman on earth I’d marry….again. Yet here I am. Saying my vows. Again. To save an alpaca. At least that’s my story. But the truth might be a little more complicated. I didn’t want to let her go the first time. But now I have a second chance to win over my wife. We’re older. Wiser. This time I won’t fail.
This book is funny. If you read it in public your going to probably get some looks because you will be laughing out loud. This is the story of Hope St. Clair and she just so happens to have a rescue Alpaca. But, she finds that to keep it from becoming her cousin’s property, she needs a husband. That brings us to Blake who has been with Hope one time and is too working so hard to get his winery off the ground and needs a license for his tasting room. This is the second chance that Blake has been looking for to make Hope realize just how amazing they could be together. He failed one time. Will he fail again? You have to read to find out. Your going to love this laugh out loud rom com.
When Hope needs a marriage of convenience, in order to save her alpaca from her money hungry cousin, Blake is at the bottom of her list. These two have explosive chemistry, and have been hiding a huge secret from everybody for years. This is a beautifully written story which these talented authors have done an awesome job in penning. This story is hilarious, witty, fun, entertaining, emotional, steamy, and with crazy shenanigans, which all lead to all round addictive page turner. This is one of the best enemies / lovers, 2nd chance love stories which I have read this year.
Pippa Grant and Lili Valente are bringing us back to Happy Cat for the strangest wedding ever.
No really.
This is a marriage of convenience to save an alpaca named Chewpaca (side note, the animals in this series have the coolest names).
Hope St Clair and Blake O’Dell have shown up in previous books with an antagonistic relationship at best. But Hope will do anything to save her alpaca from her cousin. Including marry the guy she hates. Again. And Blake will do anything to have a second chance with Hope.
To keep custody of Chewpaca either Hope or her cousin Kyle need to get married. And it’s first past the post. So, when they both show up to claim custody with new spouses in tow. It’s game on to prove whose marriage is the most real.
Convincing an entire town that they’re happily married isn’t as hard as they think it will be. It’s convincing the PI on their tail that they’re the real deal that’s the challenge.
Meanwhile, Blake has his own plan: Operation: Real Romance. He’s wanted a second chance for four years and he’s not going to allow a fake marriage or Hope’s inability to not destroy electronics stop him.
Naturally, the rest of the Happy Cat gang show up. Cassie and Ryan with George Clooney, Sticky Fingers and the raccoon babies. Jace and Olivia with baby Clover Dawn and their hedgehogs Princess and Duchess. We also get a sneak peek at Clive’s story with the cupcake lady (her name wasn’t mentioned), but oh boy I cannot wait.
Hitched follows in the same vein of Hosed and Hammered. The couple are hilarious, the side characters are fantastic, and the animals make you wonder what the heck is going on in the author’s heads, and yours because you’re enjoying it too.
Blake and Hope are probably not the funniest pair in the series, it’s more their actions and what happens around them that creates the humour. Hope’s ‘wiping’ of electronics leads to some hilarious situations and an even funnier solution courtesy of Olivia.
Hitched is an incredible book and I can’t wait to fall in love with more characters and more animals.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
4 Stars
I love the hilarity thrown into this book along with all of the animal adoration between goats and alpacas.
Blake is swoon worthy and Hope though resistant can’t help but be wooed. These two have an electrical chemistry that vibrates off the pages. It’s a bit of a slow burn, but oh so very worth the wait, just like Blake describes Hope.
I definitely recommend this HEA.
Second Chance, Alpaca, Goats, Comedy, Winery, Animal Sanctuary
This return visit to Happy Cat, GA is full of sweet romance with a few garnishes of hilarity. The marriage of convenience that Hope propose to Blake is to secure the safety and happiness of her grandmother’s prized alpaca stud and to help Blake secure a liquor license for his wine tasting room at his new winery. Hope and Blake have history from growing up together and a one-day surprise elopement in Vegas that they have kept so secret ‘it never happened’. In the 4 years since their one-day marriage Hope has caused all kinds of electrical shortages for small and large appliances, light bulbs and anything else affected by unexpected electrical surges. Blake has worked as a parting handyman while he gets his vineyard and winery established.
The romance between these two is sweet with enough steamy to spare. Some cameo appearances by Blake’s brothers and their wives, along with the crazy and lovable Happy Cat residents make this another fun installment from Pippa and Lili.
I don’t think hilarious is a strong enough word to describe Hitched! I could not get enough of Blake and Hope and the rest of the crazy residents of Happy Cat. Hitched was the first book I have read by the writing duo of Pippa Grant and Lili Valente but I can not wait to go back and read the other books in the Happy Cat series. If you like your romance with a side of tears from laughing and sizzling chemistry, then you must read Hitched!
Blake and Hope have history. A quickie marriage in Vegas 4 years ago, that after one hot night, Hope had annulled. Blake hasn’t forgiven her but he still answers his phone when she calls. Which is exactly how they end up at the courthouse being married again. Can a marriage to save an Alpaca help them find their way to true love?
I have read Pippa Grant before but this was my first with Lili Valente and I must say they make quite a team. I laughed my way through Hitched. You will totally understand when you meet George Cooney and go to goat yoga. I loved the entire O’Dell family and I’m looking forward to going back to read the other brother’s stories. Hitched can be read as a standalone but the previous characters are involved. They have created everyday people who could be from any small town. These ladies even managed to throw in a little mystery towards the end so Hitched has it all. Fun, easy read you won’t regret. Looking forward to Clint’s book.
Every visit to Happy Cat is crazy, hilarious, and so much fun.
This writing duo is so talented!! The storytelling is seamless and insanely funny. I mean who wouldn’t get married just to keep an alpaca?? Alpacas are awesome and deserve this kind of sacrifice.
Second chance is my most favorite trope and when that’s rolled with an enemies to lovers vibe, it’s the perfect mix that guarantees that I won’t be able to put a book down. I lost hours of sleep to be able to finish this book in one sitting and every second of that time was 100% worth it.
Happy Cat is one of my favorite towns to visit and I can’t wait to go back!!
4.5 Stars for Hitched which is Happy Cat Book 3.
This is a fun entertaining read centred on Hope and Blake and their quirky animals, it has plenty of witty banter which flows naturally between the main characters and their families and friends.
Blake and Hope maybe total opposites but that doesn’t mean they aren’t attracted to each other and when Hope asks Blake to get her out of a bind this story really comes to life. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments as well as a few sneaky giggles as this couple start to fall for each other and did i mention the swooning…oh I did a fair bit of that.
This book will make you laugh and it will certainly leave you smiling like as a Cheshire Cat because this is a great example of romantic comedy, it has the perfect mix of humour and drama as well as just the right amount of quirkiness. I was captivated from the first chapter to the last line and I’m looking forward to the next chapter from the characters of the Happy Cat Series.
Hitched is a “Gonna Have a Real Good Time” kind of book for me! I laughed so hard, my family may think I have lost my mind over this story.
Lili and Pippa bring you the funny and have your sides hurting. I fully love this series and my heart is invested with these characters. I knew I was going to fall for Hope and Blake. There are a few steamy scenes that rock the chemistry off the charts! You need to read this story ! If you have not started this series, its okay! You can read Hitched as a stand alone!!
OH My Gosh, the authors have given us another Laugh Out Loud storyline from Happy Cat. On this trip we have Hope and Blake story. I knew, from the first two books in the series, that these two were a comic explosion waiting to happen. They truly seem to extremely dislike each other. But what we didn’t know is they have an unshared secret, that we learn about in Hitched.
Hope has to marry in order to save her Alpaca from her greedy cousin. As a last restore she turns to Blake who agrees to marry her. But her cousin doesn’t buy it and hires a PI to prove the marriage is a skam. But Blake is determined to make the marriage look legit and convince Hope that love and happy ever afters really do exist.
The storyline is quirky, the dialogue is funny, and you can’t help but fall in love with the peeps of Happy Cat. I simply adore this charming series. I recommend Hitched and the prior two books from the town of Happy Cat. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars.
I absolutely loved this enemies to lovers book! I laughed & swooned & loved every minute reading this one. Blake & Hope & all the wonderful characters & animals made this book such a wonderful treat!
Oh my. I love when a book can’t make you laugh hysterically and that’s what this book did. Hope and Blake were a match made in…. well, a match. Their banter with each other, the banter with all the other characters and animals. It was just a light hearted rom-com with a twist. I can’t wait to see what the next one brings. If it’s anything like all the other books in this series then I know I’m in for a treat. 4 stars #2OCCJD
So glad to be back in Happy Cat! Hope and Blake’s story was amazing! There was just so much sexual tension between these two. Even in Hammered, you could tell that there was a lot of love underneath all of their arguing. And I can never pass up a good marriage of convenience. It forces the couple to spend time together and really get to know each other. Whether they want to or not.
But what makes this book stand out is the crazy animal characters. Chewpaca and Too Pac are the best names ever! And, of course, George Cooney is always around to cause a side-splittingly hilarious scene.
Plus, this series is different than other books in the Pippaverse because there is more suspense. That dose of danger really rounds out the story and keeps you hooked. Truthfully, I just loved every single thing about this book.
When growing up Blake and Hope were friends.
When Blake sees her in Vegas at a very low point in her life, he wants to take care of her and they end up getting married.
Only to have an annulment, the next day.
Forward four years later and Hope is in need of a husband to save her animal sanctuary, because of a clause in her Grandma’s will.
Blake is still in love with Hope. He wants to prove to her that this marriage could really work.
Only problem is, Hope, doesn’t think she is cut out for marriage. No one married in her family is happy. She’s never even been loved by her parents the way a child should be loved.
“Operation Romance is about winning over her heart, mind, body and soul first, but physical intimacy is part of that too.”
This book will have you laughing non stop with the crazy side kicks, George Cooney and family, Chewpaca the alpaca, baby yoga goats and a super hero who shorts out everything electrical.
Blake, has become my new book boyfriend.
He is super sweet, patient, caring, and loving alpha alpaca who’s “an untamed man beast who eats rocks for breakfast and spits nails for lunch.”
Hope, has become my favorite heroine, because she’s independent and she feeds the animals and fights for them and gives a home to all the animals who need one, especially the ones no one wants.
Well done ladies. Well done!
If it wasn’t for the fact that I had to get up extra early this morning I probably could have finished this book in one sitting. It was so good! And it flowed so well. There just wasn’t a place I wanted to intentionally stop at. I just wanted to keep going. I love the crazy animals in this series. But I think Chewpaca is my favorite of them all. I mean his name alone is awesome! Hope had a tendency to stress me out a little. She kept thinking that she didn’t deserve Blake’s love because all she knew about love was her parent’s toxic marriage. But she also saw the love that Ryan/Cassie and Jace/Oliva had for each other and that wasn’t toxic. I was so happy when she finally admitted the truth, when she finally let it out. Now Blake.. I think I found the O’Dell brother I love the most (though I’m starting to get very curious about Clint). When Blake got his head out of his butt and decided to love the h**l out of his wife I knew he was gonna get what he wanted most, his wife forever. Welcome back to Happy Cat folks. The place where anything can happen, animals run amok, and our favorite family of handsome brothers finally get the women they love. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
A hilarious return to the town of Happy Cat had me snorting and guffawing my way through this entire story. This may be my favorite Pippa and Lili collaboration to date it was that good!
Hitched begins with Blake watching a very downtrodden Hope, dressed in a wedding gown standing outside the courthouse, holding not a bouquet of actual flowers, but a bouquet of dandelions. Because in Hope’s mind the flowers she picked at that moment – or really weeds – have a moment of beauty before they die, like marriage.
Hope isn’t looking for a real commitment, or even a real marriage, she just needs a fake one. One that will die quickly once she gets her grandmother’s estate settled. Unfortunately she needs to be married to make that happen and she needs to be married quickly. Hence, she needs a dandelion.
Blake and Hope have been down this road before, four years before, but it wasn’t a marriage of convenience back then. It was a marriage of Vegas and one night of hot…hot stupidity which was quickly annulled. Well, at least that’s how Hope felt, since she did the annulling. Blake never really got over the hurt or the feelings, but he isn’t exactly keen on jumping right back in, although he also isn’t keen on watching Hope fail either. So….here comes the groom…..again.
As fake marriages go, together they make a pretty great couple, but only if they both decide they are in this marriage together. For now, they will have to fake it to make it and Blake is 100% in to make it happen for real. He doesn’t want to let Hope go this time and he feels that once she really lets her guard down she will feel the same way. Until then he will risk everything to fake it because she is worth it.
From the first chapter this was a fast-paced, crazy, make you dizzy, laugh-out-loud book! The chemistry between Hope and Blake is off the charts. I love the back and forth bickering that they have. It seems like hate, but you can tell it’s love. Blake’s family is one of a kind. They are obnoxious, annoying, funny, caring, invasive, loving, and hilarious. And we can’t forget about the fur babies, especially Chewpaca. Hope’s love of animals and her electrifying personality will leave you with a stitch in your side and warm your heart. This is a light-hearted, fun love story with a ton of shenanigans. A must-read for those that need a smile in their life.
I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
My favorite kind of rom-com an enemies to lovers story line!!
Pippa Grant and Lili Valente have done it once again, a laugh out loud, yes your family may give you funny looks with a colorful cast of characters and adorable animals. After reading this book, I want an alpha of my own, I loved Chewpaca. It was so much fun to return to Happy Cat and get a look at Blakes’ brothers and their ladies, and all the crazy fun loving towns folk and zany animals…George Cooney, I love it!!!
You don’t need to read the prior installments from Happy Cat, this can be read as a standalone.
