Cute, fun book. Over all, I really enjoyed this book, but I have to admit there were times Hope really annoyed the heck out of me.
Seeing as this is book 3 in the Happy Cat series. I can confirm this book can be read as a stand-alone. (It was my first book by this duo, didn’t feel lost once.) One of these days, I want to read the first two.
This is my first Pippa Grant and Lili Valente book and I can honestly say I loved it. Hitched made me want to read all of their other books.
This book was fast paced and extremely well written. It flowed and was entertaining from cover to cover. Hitched was so many things but funny, heartwarming, and adorable are the three I think describes it best. I truly loved this one!
Love love love everything these ladies write. Definitely recommend!!
Hitched is book three in the Happy Cat series. It can be read as a standalone. I read the second one but never got around to reading the first one. I loved this one. The story flows great. It’s written by two authors but I couldn’t tell because the story line runs smoothly. Hope is Blake act like they don’t like each other but Blake is who Hope calls when she needs help. These two were cute. Hope’s a little crazy but in a sweet funny way. The whole town is a little crazy and fun. This one is a good romantic comedy read.
This was a great trip to Happy Cat. I love Blake and Hope. I am glad they found their happy. I stayed laughing through out the book. I am going to assume that Hopes nasty cousin is done with wanting Chewy. I love every story so far. I am looking forward to more Happy Cat tales.
Another great story about our friends in Happy Cat. You ladies sure know how to write a good rom-com. Characters are awesome and the outrageous pet and sex toy names are just out right hilarious. Loved Blake and Hope and glad she figured out love after her emotionless snooty parents. Hope for many more books from these two. I think Clint and the bakery girl need a story……just sayin!
Romantic Comedy
First person; dual-POV
The authors don’t sell it as a series because it can totally be read as a standalone, but this is the third book in fictional small town Happy Cat with one of the O’Dell brothers.
WHAT HAS REALLY WORKED FOR ME
Addictiveness: 4/5 It was a lot of fun. Really, some good laughs. That story was fast-paced and very enjoyable. As addictive as cheesecake!
Character: hero 5/5, heroine 4/5, secondary characters 4/5, growth 4/5, real 2.5/5 All characters were multi-dimensional with a lot of depth. For a funny story there was a lot of sadness behind lots of laughs.
Blake was the perfect book boyfriend. Really, he was hot, protective and sweet with a dash of spice. The couple had history and he may have been carrying some anger from the past, but that man knew how to love. When he jumped, he throughly dived from a cliff.
Hope was a great heroine. I didn’t feel insta-love with her as I did with Blake, but she definitely grew on me. She had the biggest character growth throughout the story and it was beautiful to see her maturing for love.
Many interesting secondary characters. I definitely have to go back and read the rest of the series. I’ve loved the O’Dell family.
The main antagonist was sort of cartoonist, but there were a few very interesting twists.
In general, these characters were very easy to love, connect and understand!
Cover: art 5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5 I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This cover is gorgeous! I don’t mean the hot guy on the cover, though he is definitely handsome. I meant how he could definitely be Blake with the winery background. The title very catching with this perfect font and the little drawing. Oh I loved it!!! I would easily buy this book by its cover, without needing to read the blurb!
Freshness: It was crazy! It felt completely original at the same time it had all the good parts of a small town romance. As fresh as eucalyptus!
Plot: believable 3/5, conflict 3.5/5, dialogue 4/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 4/5, opening 4/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 3/5, twists 5/5 Interesting opening and cute ending. It is a hard to believe plot with well written dialogues. A fast-paced, fun story that kept me interested, even though sometimes confused, until the end. Loved the setting and I’ve truly enjoyed the twists.
I believe that the setting and the characters, I mean, the entire Happy Cat world is a major part of the story. Maybe, because I haven’t read the previous stories, I felt lost a few times and needing to re-read some parts. Don’t get me wrong, this is a standalone novel, but I’m a character person and love to know and understand everybody, so I caught myself going back a few times.
Romance: believable 4/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 4/5, steam 4/5 This is not insta-love. This is love that have been built throughout the years. The couple grew up together and knew each other well. They had history and a lot hidden feelings. In this sort of unbelievable plot, their love story felt completely real. Their chemistry was explosive and the steamy scenes very well described. Oh my, I do love some kitchen quickie!!!
Writing Style: I haven’t read the authors before and I’m very glad that I’ve found them. Looking forward to read more from them, together and separately. This was clean writing with no loose end and great descriptive dialogues. It had a touch of quirkiness that felt good to the soul.
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
The plot!
Personally, I believe I would have enjoyed even more, if I had read the series in order. I’m the type of reader that loves to connect with characters, to cross all the T’s and to dot all the I’s, so I like my background information and will definitely re-read this one after following the series.
It is a standalone story, it had a full beginning and a perfect ending; but maybe the middle could have been better if it were mentioned this was part of a series.
MY THOUGHTS
I love a fun, hot romance with a dash of quirkinesses. This small town world-built by the authors is unique, full of its own eccentricities. Add the perfect hero, with an awesome family and some crazy animals. What is not to like?
30.5/35 STARS – 4 STARS (between 28 stars and 31 stars)
Addictiveness: 4 Character: 4.5 Cover: 5 Freshness: 5 Plot: 3 Romance: 5 Writing Style: 4
Action 3/5
Angst 2/5
Darkness 0/5
Humor 5/5
Romance 5/5
Suspense/Mystery 3/5
Would I recommend? Sure. For everyone that likes a fun, hot , fast read, this is a must!
Would I re-read this book? I’m planning to read the whole series in the right order.
Would I read more from the author? Really looking forward to read this series and their individual work.
You may read this because you like the authors; you SHOULD read this because you like romantic comedies; you MUST read for some superb setting with the perfect hero!!!
Wonderful, amusing story about Blake and Hope, who marry (for the second time) to save Chewy, the alpaca, from Hope’s greedy cousin. It’s sexy, warm and a bit sad. A race to the finish to see who ends up with Chewy – but are Hope and her cousin the only two people after him? Add in George Cooney, his growing family, the hedgehogs and several goats and the story comes alive. A must read. And don’t miss Chewy’s epilogue. Didn’t see that coming!
Hitched by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente is the third book in their co-written Happy Cat series. This is the story of Hope St. Clair, the wiper of all things electronic, and Blake O’Dell, the fixer of those electronic things, the connoisseur of wine, and the one who loves Hope despite their past.
Hilarious interactions between the main characters and the members of the O’Dell family and the townsfolk make for another excellent story from this writing duo. The furry friends are a wonderful highlight, but the meat of the story, the romance between Blake and Hope, is phenomenal. Bringing two people together with such different childhood experiences, working through Hope’s issues and insecurities. Dealing with the Alpaca custody drama. All was well-written, well-paced and made for a seamless story of love. Enjoy!
I seriously can’t get over how much I love the way this writing duo blends humor, romance and wildly mischievous animals who tend to steal the spotlight to create fantastic stories time and time again.
This book was full of witty banter, slow-simmering heat and a fantastic cast of characters.
Hitched, the third installment in the Happy Cat series was outrageously funny, but also heart felt. Once Hope and Blake finally let their guards down and allowed the others charm shine through, it was a no brainer that their second time around would be much more rewarding and successful than the first. There were many obstacles that threatened their nuptials, but like a true team they battled them together. What started as a convenience marriage became so much more as Hope and Blake fought together to keep the alpaca safe and in a loving home. What they learned along the way was that they could rely on one another to help the other get through the tough and bad times. I LOVED THEM!!!!!
Oh and let’s not forget our hysterical fury friends in Happy Cat. Pippa and Lili truly captured the charm of each animal which brought humor and laughter within the story line. I also have a feeling we will be hearing a little bit more about our cup cake lady and Clint. I feel another love story brewing……
I think I just fell in love with the town of Happy Cat . Hope and Blake and their crazy cute supporting cast have given me quite a tour of their fabulous town. Hope and Blake have had a love..hate…Love ….kinda hate relationship ! Hope is a quirky girl and is not only beautiful inside but lovely on the outside . She has an overwhelming love for all animals and has been caring for her grandmothers eclectic brood of furry friends . Now her grandmother has left specific guidelines for permanent caregivers and that includes marriage. Hope is now at odds with her greedy cousin who is only seeing dollars signs when he looks at the pets. She decides that she has reached the end of the line so when she sees her old friend/enemy ….she proposes a deal !
Blake cannot believe his eyes , yes that is Hope sitting on the courthouse steps in a fufu wedding dress and whilting dandilions. He knows that he shoud turn and run but he can’t !! This is now the first leg of a crazy adventure of these two amazing characters !
Loved their crazy adventures !!!!

Hope needs a husband, stat. Who better (not really) to ask than the man she doesn’t really despise, but who might despise her, but Blake?
Pippa Grant and Lili Valente’s rom coms are pure romantic gold! I have loved all of the previous, and Hitched is no exception. This time, the animal at the center of the story is Hope’s rescued alpaca, whom she has to save from her money grubbing cousin, but all the others (YAY George Cooney!) are around, lending comic relief, as are the other brothers and their lovely ladies. Blake and Hope have baggage for sure, but throw in their inherent and really hot, chemistry, and this rom com is perfectly balanced between the rom and the com. I am so looking forward to the next couple and the next animal these two authors grace us with next!

GAH! I love this series so much!! Pippa Grant and Lili Valente have a beautiful knack of telling an amazingly quirky love story! I was so happy to be back in Happy Cat – it’s one of my favorite places in the world! Hope and Blake were amazing! I am soin love with their story!! FIVE STARS!!
Hitched is Blake and Hopes story, which takes us back to the little town of Happy Cat. Hope has a dilemma on her hands , in order for her to inherit her grandmas estate and animals she has to be married or it goes to her cousin. Both Hope and her cousin are in a mad dash to find someone, Hope calls up the last person that she would expect to help her, but he is her only choice. Blake can’t believe he is going along with this, but he has every intention of keeping her this time around. Blake and Hope know how to push one another’s buttons and how to get under each others skin. This book is a real page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat, so buckle up for the ride. These two have secrets that will be revealed, things you would never see coming.
Hitched is the newest story set in Happy Cat, Georgia and it is every bit as funny, crazy, chaotic and sweet as the the two before it. It is a standalone book, but reading Hosed and Hammered will introduce you to many of the characters in Hitched as well. The story is about Hope and Blake and an alpaca named Chewpaca. Hope runs an animal sanctuary she is trying to save from her evil cousin and Blake is her nemesis aka the only one who can help her. The craziness extends to spying, baby goats running amuck, George Cooney (the racoon) terrorising everyone in search of cupcakes, alpacanapping, sinking ships, and bingo night with prizes from the Sunshine toy factory. (These are toys not meant for children and caused an extreme rise in bingo attendance that night ). There is also a sweet love story between an electric lady (Hope) and the man who fixes all the things she breaks (Blake) including ultimately her. It’s the best of the best!
4.5 stars
Hitched by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente had me laughing all the way through. An enemies-to-lovers romance where a fake marriage will solve everything, right? Hope wants to save her alpaca, so she needs to get married so her greedy cousin does not take it all away. Her and Blake have not had the best relationship and there is a lot of history there, but she needs his help. Can they really help each other and make it seem real?
Blake lost Hope once already, can this be the second chance he needs? Hope does not believe in happily ever after. Can she ever truly let someone in? Blake was caring and nice, but could he trust her again? Blake is determined to keep her this time, so all bets are off! Hitched by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente was such a fun read with delightful characters.

I love coming back home to Happy Cat to visit and stay a while. Every time I do I know that there will be laughs and lots of fun with the critters like George Clooney the trash panda and Princess-spooks-alot the cutest hedgehog you have ever seen. In Hitched which is a standalone book by the way, we get to know Blake O’Dell and Hope St Clair. If you have read Hosed or Hammered the first 2 books based in Happy Cat you will recognized both of these folks as they were mentioned in the previous books. Now we get an up close and very personal look into their lives.
Blake and Hope were married one night previous and annulled the next day ( hey it’s in the blurb) so we know they have HISTORY. So who does Hope turn to when her grandmother passes and the will is read and she needs help quickly to save the farm and her beloved animals especially Chewpaca the alpaca. There is so much in this book that has me smiling and laughing out loud. From Hope’s sizzling touch to Blake’s ability to calm her down by a simple kiss or hug. I love how our authors have shown the love between the two characters without being mushy and honestly without one of them even realizing they are in love at all. Happy Cat is a town that one could live in and raise a family… of humans and animals and they would all feel safe and loved.
Come visit Happy Cat and see why so many folks are ready to pack up and move there!
I want to move to Happy Cat! These characters, the townspeople, the animals, oh goodness, like can I just live out my life there? Is there such a real place?
Hope and Blake have known each other for a long time, but the also have a dislike to each other, but they are holding onto a secret no one knows about. But deep down, Blake wants love, wants a family, wants it all and he has always felt this pull to Hope. But, Hope needs help to get married because of an Alpaca. And guess who is there to save the day? Blake O’Dell!
I loved the banter, the texts between the brothers(I love that sooo much)the shenanigans, the animals, the POVs, EVERYTHING! Sometimes this is the kinda story you need. Fun, sexy, laughter kinda read. Lili and Pippa have done amazing with this series and I cannot wait for the next story!!!!
I loved this second chance romcom by Pippa and Lili. It made me laugh out loud while swooning all at the same time. The characters are awesome. I now down to Pippa’s gift of gab. Amazing book. I’d read it again and again.
