If you read the first two Happy Cat books Hosed and Hammered (especially Hammered) you get to see a glimpse into Hope and Blake’s relationship. They fight like crazy with each other but get along with most everyone else. In Hitched we find out why and get to see them get together to save a very special animal and their marriage. I liked how Pippa Grant and Lili Valente did the conflict in this book as more external that bring Blake and Hope together, than tearing them apart. It was sweet and definitely needed – especially for Hope.
I adore both Hope and Blake. Hitched is sweet and funny and LOVED meeting Clint, Blake, Jace and Ryan’s bada$$ Marine, baby brother as he scares misbehaving humans and animals straight (I cannot wait to read his story!). One of the many joys about reading this series (and all of Pippa Grant’s books) is the animal names. We met Chewpaca in Hammered but he now has a friend whose name I’m not giving away but is brilliant. If you’re looking for a sweet and hilarious romantic comedy with adorable animals and plotting, yet supportive townspeople then pick up Hitched. You’ll find all that and more in this visit to Happy Cat, Georgia.
I received an advanced copy of this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Admittedly, I have several Pippa and Lili books on my kindle I have yet to read, but I am so glad that I was able to get a ARC of Hitched from them. Hitched blew me away and now I vow to read my other books in the next few months.
Hitched goes into my Laugh Out Loud category, they are right up there with Max Monroe and Emma Hart.
Going in, I didn’t know this was a series about the O’Dell brothers. Again, now I have to read about his brothers even though I know spoilers. This story is about Blake and Hope, whom I am going to assume that everyone thinks they are sworn enemies and hate each other. But I found it funny that no one knows the truth. But what was plainly staring everyone in the face.
Our heroine finds herself in need of a husband, so she can save her alpaca from a money-hungry cousin, who will do anything to get what they want. Guess who agrees to be her husband? What they don’t know is that someone is watching their every move. But Blake doesn’t mind showing a lot of PDA, but is it all for show or is it real?
I found their romance genuinely flawed and honestly hilarious, there was never a dull moment. The entire cast is witty and captivating. I can’t recommend this book enough. The romance with touch your heart and tickle that funny bone.
So go ahead and pick up Hitched.
Hitched by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente is the story of Blake O’Dell and Hope St. Claire.
Blake and Hope had married to young it didn’t last. Now in their present day Blake and Hope “Frenemy”. Hope overseas a animal sanctuary which involves Chewpac and Alpaca who is very wanted for his stud service. Hope has someone who is trying to take this away from her and to fix it she has to get married ASAP. Blake has been burned by Hope and her craziness that leads to some adventures but he ends up stepping up to the plate to be her hero for this marriage and to maybe get the girl that he has never been able to fully walk away from.
GET HITCHED IN HAPPY CAT
Hitched is the third book in the ‘Happy Cat’ series by Pippa Grant & Lila Monroe. It’s a wild, mad-cap ride filled with love, devotion, animals galore from a cute alpaca called Chewpaca to the ever irrepressible George Cooney.
Hope and Blake have been in love for years, they’ve even been married once before but that only lasted long enough for the ink to dry. So, when fate brings them back together for yet another wedding, Blake is not really on board. But, while Hope has spent the last four years thinking he hates her, he’s been secretly pining for her. Hope has trouble believing not just in love, but marriage too. She didn’t have the best examples of either growing up and now she’s just plain scared.
Blake’s scared too. Can he put his heart on the line again for the only woman he’s ever loved. Will Hope finally see the truth and admit her own feelings?
I loved this return visit to Happy Cat, seeing the earlier couples and their lives. The animals and the great big O’Dell family. But, what I want to know is… who is the ‘blue alien’?
Want a laugh out loud, sweet and sexy story for the weekend? Grab Hitched today and settle in for a hilarious ride.
I read the previous two books in the Happy Cat series by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant, and I enjoyed them both. These two authors are fantastic together! Their writing styles blended effortlessly, transitioning seamlessly between the two of them, and coming together perfectly. This story flowed so smoothly and consistently, I honestly couldn’t tell who was writing what, which is exactly what I want in a collaborative effort.
Hitched, the third book in the Happy Cat series, was just as charming as the first two books, Hosed and Hammered. A romantic comedy set in the wacky little Southern small town of Happy Cat, and it stars the town’s nice guy, Blake, as the hero, and the animal sanctuary owning, electronics-zapping, Hope, as the heroine. Part enemies-to-lovers, part second-chance romance, Blake and Hope enter into a fake marriage to save her animal sanctuary, and specifically her beloved, pedigreed alpaca, Chewpaca, from her scheming cousin’s clutches. Blake and Hope have a bit of history between them that they don’t discuss—and no one else in town knows about—and Blake isn’t about to squander this opportunity as he sets a plan in motion to turn his fake marriage to Hope into something real. There was plenty of action in this story thanks to an overly friendly, yoga-practicing private detective hired by Hope’s cousin to prove her marriage was a farce, the town gossip, Ruthie, hot on their tails for the dirt on their surprise nuptials, and a klutzy cupcake baking newcomer to town who is seriously giving Hope’s electronics zapping a run for its money. Of course this series wouldn’t be complete without the town’s resident trash panda, George Clooney—with his family in tow—popping up at the worst possible moments.
Hitched had an almost slap-stick-like quality to the comedic portion of the plot, I was audibly laughing and grinning the whole way through it. Completely endearing side characters, a hilariously entertaining plot with a bit of a suspenseful spin to it, and a sweet, steamy romance came together wonderfully into this amusing romantic comedy that kept me happily tapping my Kindle. I loved Blake and Hope, I loved all the characters in kooky little town, and I am looking forward to my next trip back to Happy Cat. Hitched by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente gets 4.5 smooches from me!

Hitched by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente is a contemporary, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, second chance, romantic comedy told in first person, dual POV. It is book three in the Happy Cat series and can be read as a standalone. Although it’s not necessary to read Hosed and Hammered first, doing so enhances the reading experience when previous characters reappear.
Hope is in desperate need of a marriage of convenience to secure her inheritance and save her alpaca. Blake is the absolute last person she’d ever ask, but Hope has completely run out of options. If she can help him get a liquor license to open a tasting room and get his winery off the ground, then maybe he’d agree to help her out. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time they were married – but they don’t talk about that because it doesn’t count anyway. It was four years ago and only lasted a day, but ever since, Blake and Hope haven’t been able to be in a room together without fighting. Maybe this time, they can both get what they want – if they don’t kill each other first.
After meeting them briefly in a previous book, I was looking forward to Blake and Hope’s story and was not at all disappointed. I loved their chemistry and witty banter. The story was full of hilarious moments, adorable animals, and quirky, small-town antics. There was even a little bit of action/suspense too. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun read.
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
Another laughed out loud hilarious trip to Happy Cat, the home of our favorite book characters, may they be human or of the four legged animal variety.
Hitched is book 3 in the series, however can be read as a standalone.
In Hitched, Hope St. Clair finds herself in a desperate need of husband to save her rescue alpaca from becoming her cousin’s property.
Blake, who has bern working on getting his winery off the ground and is in need of liquor license for his tasting room, reluctantly agrees to marry Hope, to help her out.
As with all Happy Cat books we get a hilarious inside into a small town life and shenanigans of well meaning busybodies; we visit with beloved animal characters we met in previous stories and catch up on our favorite couples from Happy Cat.
Both Blake and Hope have been harboring feelings for each other since high school but circumstances were always in the way of their possible future together.
Will this time be different? Will the marriage of convenience finally open their eyes and hearts and give way to happily ever after?
Beautiful, heartwarming and full of hilarity! Happy Cat is my new favorite past-time. Each O’Dell Brother’s book is even better than the last. Blake and Hope are feisty, stubborn and just plain wonderful. Of course, the book wouldn’t be complete without their famous four-legged co-stars and sex-toy bingo.
Blake is Hope’s only chance at saving her beloved animals and she will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. Even if it costs her heart. Blake has never stopped loving Hope and won’t let her get away a second time. They are electric and when the stars align, there is no stopping the universe from showing them that love really can conquer all.
Spectacular!
Oh, this story hit my heart in the best of ways! This series is freakin’ HILARIOUS yet the underlying warmth and love is right up there, tugging at all my emotions… Kyle and Hope had history and found themselves in the frenemies zone. When Hope needed a miracle though, Kyle stepped up and that paved the way to an alpaca and George Cooney-laden path to love that was simply, wonderfully, extraordinary…
Kyle is an O’Dell and he knows all about chaos yet Hope can’t escape her own family and the uncertainty they drilled in to her. She couldn’t make it work with anyone and failing with Kyle would break her. What Kyle did to support her, the woman he loves, was ‘knight in shining armor’ stuff for sure and won my heart too! The hilarity ran rampant, as it has throughout this series, and it was in fine form once again. With furry friends causing mayhem, and out and lout laughter on this side of the pages, there was steam and shenanigans and family galore. It was a trippy treat!

I love a fake marriage. Throw in its a second chance love story. I get all my favorite characters, including my four legged ones. A little mystery in Happy Cat as always with some steam and as always, laughing out loud.
Wow this might be my favorite one yet!! So much goes on it really kept me on my toes. I loved Blake and Hope. They are just so darn cute!
We get to see the whole crew in action! The men and with women(except Clint) plus all the adorable audacious pets that we have come to know and live.
I listened to this on audio. The narrators do an excellent job and I am looking forward to Clints book.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Hope St. Clair needs a miracle to save her rescue farm and her beloved alpaca. She has tried every eligible man and now she needs the help from Blake to become her husband. Well husband in a strictly title only way, the problem is Blake married her once and has no plans on getting his heart squashed again. Blake plans to turn her down but her frightful appearance with her withering bouquet has him reluctantly agreeing. He plans to be the best husband he can possibly be and maybe just maybe get Hope on board in falling for him. It seems Hope isn’t the only one that needs a miracle, can Blake open hid winery and catch the girl of his dreams?
This was fun, it took me a bit to understand why Hope was reluctant to go all in with Blake but as the story progressed you begin to understand what her thought process is. I liked Blake a lot, I had been curious about this couples story from the first book and this did not disappoint. Entertaining laugh out loud fun.
I’m so hooked on this series! Each book is standalone! But, it’s soo much fun listening/reading to them in order.
The Storyline, omg, these authors are incredibly talented. I love them together and I also love their own books.
Happy Cat is the name of the town the story takes place. As I was listening to my favorite narrators, Zachery Webber and Virginia Rose, (goosebumps) the beginning of the story is already funny, sad and romantic. Blake O’Dell and Hope have know each other for a long time, they have also liked each other.
They end up getting hitched, and from there the story flows smoothly through LOL scenes, character, narratives and steamy love scenes, with a guaranteed happily ever after!! This series a must read/listen =)
Another hilarious book about life in Happy Cat, Georgia! Blake, Hope & Chewpaca are great fun! Again, couldn’t put it down. And I learned something about alpacas.
Always glad to go back to Happy Cat, especially to see characters I’ve already met get their HEA. Blake is the third O’Dell brother, and Hope is friends with Cassie and Olivia – all from the first two Happy Cat books.
While the situations are sometimes ridiculous, Valente and Grant always tell a story with universal appeal through characters readers can identify with. Ever want something but feel you aren’t good enough? Ever feel like you deserve a second chance but aren’t sure how to get it? Ever go to extreme lengths for something you think is important, even when others say it’s not worth it or can’t be done? These are the themes of Hitched.
Of course, Hitched also has the trademark silliness of alpacas and semi-domesticated raccoons and yoga goats. If you’re looking for smiles and swoons and sexy fun, Hitched is a great place to start.
I don’t read a lot of romantic comedy. I prefer my romance with a bit more angst. But Pippa Grant’s books are fun, enjoyable quick reads. They can get a bit silly, and there’s not a ton of substance, but they can be a nice break from the heavier stuff I usually read. This is book 3 in the series, and I’ll go back to read the other two. I’m hoping Clint’s book is next. I love a military hero!
I love the characters created in Happy Cat! I hope there are more books about the town calendar!
It makes me happy when there’s a new release from one of my favourite authors but when two share a release….. I’m over the moon…. especially when it’s these gals and another instalment of the Happy Cat standalone series.
We knew from previous books that there was something going on between Blake & Hope but never really knew until the blurb for Hitched was released… and then the tension and sparks between them made some sense. I
loved this pair. Blake was so determined for things to be different this time around, if only he could convince Hope that not all marriages and partnerships were like those she had witnessed growing up. H
ope for her part wanted to believe but she had such a fear of history repeating itself that she couldn’t completely trust that things were meant to be between them. This pair were destined to be together. The chemistry, connection and comfort they found with each other yelled out that they were supposed to be a couple.
As ever from Pippa Grant & Lili Valente this story was joy to read. Packed with crazy goings on, all our favourite family members and friends as well as a whole host of adopted animals – George and his wee family are tricksy, cheeky and a ton of fun… – I didn’t want to put my kindle down, even when I really had to!! I
’m looking forward to more from these authors and our next trip to Happy Cat! Hitched gets 5* from me!!!
