Is this love or just a game? Tori Rivera thinks Jamie McCade is rude, arrogant, and worst of all . . . the sexiest man she’s ever laid eyes on. His reputation as a player is almost as legendary as his surfing skills. No matter how her body heats up when he’s around, she’s determined not to be another meaningless hookup. Jamie McCade always gets what he wants. The sickest wave. The hottest women. … The sickest wave. The hottest women. And Tori, with her long legs and smart mouth, is definitely the hottest one. He knows Tori wants him-hell, most women do-but she won’t admit it. After months of chasing and one unforgettable kiss, it’s time for Jamie to raise the stakes.
Jamie promises that soon Tori won’t just want him in her bed, she’ll be begging for it-and he might be right. Somehow he’s found the spot in her heart that makes her open up like never before. But with all she knows about his past, can she really trust what’s happening between them? Is Jamie playing for keeps or just playing to win?
This book can be read as a stand-alone.
Book 1–Four Letter Wordmore
Move over Trouble aka Brian cause Jamie has taken your place and captured my heart. I have to be honest and say, that I was a little skeptical about Jamie because he was all about the ladies and screwing around, but after finishing Hit The Spot I can safely say I was wrong. Very wrong about him and who he was as a person and as a man. I liked the introduction of Tori in Four Letter Word and in Hit The Spot she went all out and showed me all her sides I came to enjoy and many many more.
Tori definitely didn’t give Jamie an easy time even though he tried to win her over by showing her all of his moves. It was a certain bet that slowly made them get to know one another more deeply. Still Tori was very apprehensive of Jamie and letting him in her heart because of his behavior as a ladies man. They played with each other, a push and pull game and I enjoyed how they both were affected by one another yet still tried to play it cool. Jamie showed his attentiveness and proved that once he made a promise he kept it. He kept surprising me throughout the story and his care and want for Tori was definitely swoon worthy. Tori showed her growth by taking risks and claimed Jamie in a very hilarious scene at a restaurant. So much fun. Yes, she was insecure about him at times but who could blame her with Jamie’s track record of ladies.
If you’ve read a J. Daniels book before then you know that sex occurs and in Hit The Spot it’s no different. There’s sex and plenty of it but that’s also what makes it a J. Daniels book besides her lovable characters. The connection and chemistry between Jamie and Tori was blazing hot. No doubt about their want and need for each other but their friendship was just as important to me. Brian and Sydney showed up too and it gave me the feeeling of being a part of a family. Their dynamics were strong and enjoyed that Tori also had some scenes with Brian. These four people have definitely hit my soft spot.
These two were a lot of sexy fun wrapped in insecurities (her) and hidden deep awareness (him). Of course, it takes us through the book to find this all out. The path that takes us there is littered with stops and starts, and a tonne of denials, but that is their thing. I completely enjoyed the ride these two took me on!
You’ll hate to love Jamie! If you read the first book in the Dirty Deeds series, Four Letter Word, then you already know how much Tori despises the man who calls her “legs”.
Jamie doesn’t give up easily on what he wants, so he’s even willing to help her seek vengeance on a cheating ex, all while wearing her down with each visit.
This series will have you cracking up with the witty banter, cuz none of the characters have a filter. Which is the best thing ever!
I loved the first book in this series. I loved Brian and Sydney and pretty much everything about that book. This book was good but a little on the long drawn out side and mostly because Tori is kind of dramatic and annoying at times. So many times I just wanted to shake her and tell her to quit messing stuff up. Jamie on the other hand is all kinds of awesome and the best part of this book. He is pretty much the perfect guy which makes Tori’s actions even more ridiculouS
Tori & Jamie. Finally! This is beyond a 5 Star read!
There were things that I adored about Hit the Spot. It’s a fun sort of enemies to lovers type plot complete with a sassy waitress and cocky surfer.
What I mainly loved was the playfulness of the story. I liked the head games that Jamie and Tori played when they both knew it was a game being played. I also loved Jamie’s determination.
That being said, I also kind of hated Jamie’s determination. At times it was so over the top domineering that I wanted to toss the book across the room. I like that he was so willing to wait for her but he didn’t need to be so bossy about it, at the same time.
His boorish behavior bothered me all to often and that dragged the rating down for me. But, what really got to me is how he talked. It’s these strange, neanderthal like broken sentences. It really was just too much for me.
I love when I read a book from a new author to me and they instantly become a new favorite. J.Daniels is a true talent and I will be reading many more books from her.
I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of elements that make a great romance book. There was chemistry, banter, heartbreak and sexy times. I felt like this book had it in spades. It also felt very real to me.
I liked the character of Tori. She was a strong woman who was a hard worker, loyal friend, and wonderful daughter. The biggest flaw she had was because of a past relationship, she has a hard time trusting and letting people in. When she first met Jamie she had him pegged as a playboy and wanted so badly to keep in him that box.
I admired Jamie!! He was one amazing book boyfriend. The level of committement and dedication he had for coming into Tori’s restaurant and flirting with her was out of the norm. I loved how “sure” he was about Tori’s feeling even though she would continue to deny them. This man was a alpha man and the words that came out of his mouth. WOW!!
I would highly recommend this book!
straight up have to say I thought I was reading a Kristen Ashley book with her major alpha dirty talking bossy biker dude…but this one is Jamie McCade hottest surfer around. He is arrogant and takes what he wants especially when it comes to women. He has been hounding Tori Rivera for 9 months to get her to go out with him or anything. Tori sees Jamie as a playboy and not someone she would trust her heart with. He did win her over with helping revenge against her former boyfriend, she found out was married with a daughter. Jamie and Tori make a bet and learn so much about each other they can’t help but fall a little. Great read, lots of fun.
Jamie is adorable and I loved Tori’s parents, they were great.
I LOVED this book!! I could not get enough of Jamie in this book!
This was awesome! It was a crazy, stressful, emotional ride and I couldn’t put it down.
Love this series. Wonderful Story Line. Highly Recommend
This series keeps getting better and better. First of all, you can absolutely read Hit The Spot as a standalone. We do meet Jamie and Tori in book 1 but this book pretty much gives you the full picture from the start so you won’t miss anything.
Jamie McCade has been chasing Tori Rivera since the moment he laid eyes on her. At first, it was about the thrill of the chase. He doesn’t lose and he always gets what he wants. He is also very restless when he goes after something. His chase and game is strong.
Tori wants nothing to do with Jamie. At least that is what her head is telling her. Her body is a different story. She’s attracted to him but refuses to admit it and she plays one hell of a cat and mouse game. She’s feisty and has quick wit that allows her to be the perfect person to go head to head with Jamie. Will Jamie be able to convince Tori that she does in fact want him or will she maintain her stance on staying away from him?
Let me start with Jamie. HIS DIRTY MOUTH. I feel like that’s all I need to say. Seriously. He has no problem telling Tori explicitly what he wants to do to her. The only thing that felt a little strange to me is that I read his dialogue as coming across as a biker more than a competitive surfer. It didn’t bother me but it did take me a bit to get used to it compared to what I was expecting.
I really liked Tori. She’s a spitfire and gave Jamie a run for him money. She’s very loyal to her friends and family and you really see how big her heart is.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are looking for one dirty mouth man and the thrill of a chase, then this is the book for you!
*5 Stars*
I was determined to read this one really soon after finishing Four Letter Word, because even in that book I could tell that the story of Jamie and Tori was going to be hilarious.
Let me tell you, this book was so much fun! I can’t count how many times I was grinning down at the pages of this book, even at work, and thinking…people are gonna think I’m a loon if they walk past me right now. Haha.
The back and forth banter between the two of them had me going, it kept me turning page after page, wondering when things were finally going to implode, and they would hurry up and get together. And once things really ramp up, man do they get good!
This book is extremely sexy, very sweet and lots and lots of fun. I loved everything about it, and I can’t wait to read more about this world, now that I have finally read all 3 books, albeit out of order.
Tori and Jamie are my fave couple though, and I highly recommend this one!
God how I want to love these books. I love J. Daniels Alabama Summer series and Sweet Addiction series, but I keep find the Dirty Deeds books to just be ok.
I was hoping with Jamie and Tori’s story that it was going to knock my socks off and make me fall in love with this series. I don’t know what it is that’s holding me back. Which is crazy because I really like Jamie.
Jamie is your surfer guy that all girls picture in their head. He is funny, charismatic, and sexy as fuck. I loved Jamie in the first book and how he always gets Tori all riled up and says some funny and sexy things to her. Hit the Spot highlighted that on a whole other playing field. We find out how Tori and Jamie first met and why she despises him. But boy, Jamie never gives up and does everything he can to break down Tori because he knows behind that facade she walks around with, she wants Jamie something fierce.
Jamie is my favorite thing about this book. I love that he always knows what Tori is thinking even though I kid you not, she lied about how she was feeling and what she was thinking the ENTIRE book. He could read her so easily. He was supportive and protective of her. I liked that he never hid what he was feeling and thinking. It was clear early in the book that he wanted to be with her, he never hid it and I swooned.
The story was ok for me. I didn’t feel connected to Tori at all and I honestly think she overreacts. The reader gets to see some more of Sid and Brian and Shay, Cali, and Stitch are almost nonexistent. Basically Tori acted like she didn’t have a job a third of the way through the book. Maybe this book is too fluffy. The female characters too emotional and judgy for no reason. I don’t connect with their “backstory.” I think the almost breaking up stuff, especially towards the end of the book is too much. Tori got mad at Jamie for something so ridiculously dumb and was willing to walk away from the relationship. Like why?
If you love J. Daniels you will probably like this book. This is not my favorite series by her, but that won’t stop me from reading Shay and Stitches next. I am a die-hard fan of J. Daniels and it kills me to not love this book, but there is always plenty to love, including her writing.
