Thrilling, romantic, and sprinkled with humor, HIT THE ROAD, JAKE! reinvents the ‘buddy movie’ concept with the written word … and a pretty woman. Jake and Lindsey are good at tracking down offenders responsible for petty theft and blackmail, but when new mysteries become personal—slashed tires, spattered blood, steamy love letters, a stolen pet—everything changes. Who is this enemy that secretly … that secretly harasses them from town to town? Jake calls in some favors and manages to finagle the DNA testing of several blood samples. The results are shocking, and the dangers they face become deadly.
Practically newlyweds, the couple thought they’d created the perfect win-win plan. While traveling between Tucson and Estes Park in their RV, Jake would solve embarrassing mysteries that schools wished to keep under wraps, and Lindsey, being the ‘cover’ for their presence, would conduct workshops for teachers. Then all hell broke loose.
“Cricket Rohman really nails it! She gives her readers a ton of depth in both the story line and character development. A great, fun read!”

Jake and Lindsey hit the road in a mega rv in a project intended to combine his investigative skills with her teaching and curriculum skills
They find themselves facing a few scary casts of characters including faculty, staff, parents and related families and hangers on – along with a lingering project or two from the dreaded ex husband of Lindsey
Mental stability seems to be in short supply among select staff members and mysteries along their way. Malfeasance and power and money abuse within some districts is rife
Will her ex, miscellaneous crazies they have met along the way, and a co-conspirator or two leave Lindsey and her little burd-dog-Jake family intact?
Psychological drama and thriller

Absolutely love the idea of an RV couple going around solving mysteries at schools while doing teaching programs. This couple with their dog and bird are so good together. The storyline is fast-paced and exciting as so much happens before you get to the wonderful ending. This is one series that will definitely stay on my kindle, to get reread again and again. Well done.

This is book three of The Lindsey Lark series and this book sees Lindsey Lark and her husband Jake Lee travel to various locations, from Tucson, Arizona to Estes Park, Colorado in an RV, visiting school districts so Lindsey can carry out more of her writing skills training to teachers and Jake can help with some investigations at each location. They have taken their dog Wendell and bird Malcolm along for the journey and have spaced out the visits to each school district, so they can take time off to enjoy the wilderness and have a bit of a vacation at the same time. Each school or district has applied for Jake’s help to investigate a problem for them, which they don’t wish to have revealed to one and all, under the cover of him being there while Lindsey carries out her workshops for their teachers. Jake and Lindsey work well together and are good at tracking down those who are criminals. They have had some close and personal experiences of their own and this trip is about to bring a whole load more!
Someone is sending anonymous letters to Jake, professing their love for him and there are some strange incidents happening around their RV, which Wendell seems to be alert to. Even though they have no real stopping points each night and only have to be within easy reach of the schools where Lindsey will be teaching, someone has found out their route and seems to be following them from town to town! Someone is after either Lindsey or Jake, but the only enemy they know of is Lindsey’s ex-Anthony, but he is still in prison although due for parole shortly. Who is harassing them and why is a mystery and Jake calls on his sister Julie’s boyfriend Lad to use his connections to process some fingerprints and DNA samples he manages to lift from some of the incidents. What one of those results brings is a total shock to all! They may have managed to solve most of the small cases they had along the way, but this final case is very personal and could also be deadly. What should have been a nice relaxing journey soon turns into a struggle for survival and a reminder of family and what is most important in life. Lots more going on in this book, as Lindsey does her workshops and Jake has a week in each location to solve each case, but with so much more happening all at the same time, which ends in a climatic finale! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
I liked this book. The story was beautifully written and flowed beautifully. The characters were well defined within the story and they had such great chemistry. I loved the ending. If you like the works of this wonderful author, then this book is must-read.
A thrilling story line sprinkled with romance and topped with some humor. Suspense, intrigue, realistic characters, and so much more fill the pages and keep you wanting more. A book you can’t put down once you open it and start reading.

This is the 3rd book in the series. I read book 2 and then book 3 but you could read as a stand alone. This is a story about Newley weds Jake Lee and Lindsey Lark and their dog and bird. This book has suspense, romance and some comedy. They are deeply in love and is a cozy mystery involving some vandalism, pranks, and possible embezzlement with a sleuthing couple. This is a great journey and so glad I got to read this. I can’t wait to read more books by Cricket Rohman.

I enjoyed this 3rd book of the series. Cricket Rohman writes with humor, romance and intrigue. There is a lot going on in this story.
A Thrilling Mystery with a little laughter and romance
Lindsey is a teacher and a survivor. Traveling in an RV with Jake, her husband, Wendell, the mastiff, and Malcom, the bird, they face more danger than they bargained for. She and Jake are on the road working, sort of, undercover solving mysteries at schools in Flagstaff, Albuquerque, and Estes Park, Colorado. They end up in Rocky Mountain National Park. This is book 3 in the Lindsey Lark Series and it ties up almost all of the puzzling loose ends from their past.
