Another hit by the fabulous Lani Lynn Vale!
Hissy Fit is a hilarious, fun, quick read that will have you falling head over heals in love! Ezra is all kinds of sexy swoony. He is sweet and kind and made my heart melt. I just couldn’t get enough of him.
Ryleigh is absolutely hilarious. Her clumsiness was endearing and something I could totally relate to. But the way she really cares about not just her students but people in general had me hoping for her to find some happy.
I read this one in one sitting and loved every second of it. I can’t wait to see what Vale brings us next in this new series!
This just may be the sweetest book Lani Lynn Vale has ever written! In between cracking up at the level of clumsiness Raleigh has that I can relate to all to well and losing my mind over just how perfect Ezra and Raleigh are we’re moments both emotional and heartwarming. Taking on things we all see and not enough people do a thing about, bullying, and bringing them to the spotlight in this book made my heart so happy.
Raleigh is a bright light of adorable sweetness and a character I think a multitude of people can relate to. In love with the town golden boy for years but always being the girl who was either invisible or bullied. My heart hurt for her at times for all she’d gone through. None of that stopped her from having a heart of gold or being the kind of teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. Then you have the oblivious Ezra. Having only just opened his eyes to what is right in front of him he had a lot of catching up to do but man does he catch up fast. As sweet as he is sexy it was easy to see what made Raleigh fall in love with him.
Southern Gentleman
Rayleigh has always been the person in school who was invisible but because of her perpetual clumsiness eventually catches the eye of her school crush, Coach Ezra…but hang on, how’d she finally catch his attention? In a bout of clumsiness at Target, she manages to knock over three people and almost knocks Ezra over….with boxes of wrapping paper! To make matters worse, he drops a box of condoms on her nose which causes a nose bleed…and after she runs away….he grabs her phone with the latest BDSM book open in her kindle app
Loved this story and wish I could score higher than 5 stars, but alas I can’t! Love Ezra and Rayleigh and I look forward to seeing what mischief Camryn her bestie gets up too
Raleigh has had a crush on Ezra since school and it hasn’t changed. She sees him everyday at school where they both teach but he never sees her. She’s invisible to him even as adults.
When Ezra finally SEES Raleigh he can’t believe he’s missed her this this whole time. When they begin to learn about each other and Raleigh is still Raleigh ie., tripping over air, being a klutz she’s embarrassed but she just keeps on keeping on.
Ezra will do everything in his power to show her that he’s not that guy from school anymore, that he wants her and only her.
I adored Raleigh!!! She has an inner strength and sees the good in people and truly wants to help. These two make a great couple and LOVED them together!
Raleigh may be the klutziest and most accident prone human being to ever live. She’s also had a crush on her colleague, Ezra, since they were in high school . . . even though he never noticed anything about her then or now . . . until she knocks over a display in Target that also sends him flying and causing Raleigh to get a bloody nose from his flying box of condoms.
Small town hero and high school football coach Ezra has never wanted to be in a serious relationship. He’s happy playing the field and coaching. But when Raleigh literally knocks him on his behind, he becomes fascinated by her . . . and begins feeling a bit possessive and protective. He also finds himself wondering how he’s never noticed her before now that she is all he can see in front of him.
Hissy Fit may be the sweetest Lani Lynn Vale romance I have read to date! Raleigh and Ezra really seem like the unlikeliest of couples, considering he’s an athlete and she can barely walk a straight line without tripping over nothing. Yet, they are perfect together.
I adored Raleigh in this book. After feeling invisible most of her life and then having an incident while student teaching terrify her from working with older students, it’s easy to see how she is pushed around by both the faculty and students in her school. But, underneath, she is hiding a backbone made of steel! Her relationship with Morgan, one of her troubled students, as well as with the sex-ed class she is maneuvered into taking over, gives her a chance to bloom into her true calling as a teacher who really makes a difference./
Ezra is a true Southern gentleman. I really enjoyed the relationship he forged with the boys he coaches. And, watching him help Raleigh feel seen and loved for the first time was fantastic. He may have been the typical high school jock, unaware of those outside of his circle, but, now he is all man . . , and he knows what he wants and will do everything he can to get it. And, what he wants just happens to be Raleigh.
While this is mostly a sweet rom com with some real laugh out loud moments and some hot as can be moments, there is plenty of drama and an unexpected twist or two readers will never see coming. 5 stars for Hissy Fit, book one in the Southern Gentleman series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

I loved Hissy Fit. It is the first book in the Southern Gentleman Series from Lani Lynn Vale. This is the story or Raleigh. To say she is a walking disaster is a understatement. I don’t see how this poor girl didn’t live at the hospital. She has so many mishaps. She certainly keeps you entertained. You can not help but to laugh with her. She knows what it’s like to fall down in front of everyone. However when Ezra McDuff drops a box of condoms on you and your nose bleeds you do turn red in the said face in front of everyone. This is her crush. The guy she has crushed on since high school. Ezra is also the towns football and baseball coach and oh how the women fall at his feet and adore him. The school he coaches at is also the school that Raleigh is a teacher. Ezra doesn’t even know that she is even in the world until she has to teach the sex ed class he was suppose to be teaching. This is all it takes for him to notice her. Get ready for all the fun your going to have with these two characters. This was a quick quirky cute little romance and as always the heading of each chapter are amazing.
This one has me cracking up a lot. I loved Raleigh, she was sweet and funny even when she wasn’t trying to be. Ezra was awesome, he was so sweet and sexy. They just made the perfect couple. As always you have a little bit.of suspense thrown in to make you wonder just what is going to happen. Can’t wait for the next one.

Raleigh Crusie has been in love with Ezra McDuff since high school. She’s also been invisible to him this whole time…until she’s not. Literally falling at the feet of the man is one to get him to notice her, and notice her he does. Ezra is the local football hero, turned high school coach that everyone lusts after. He never really paid attention to one of the newest teachers at the school until she falls at his feet and he drops his box of condoms on her face.
I loved the flow of this book and how adorkable Raleigh really is. Accident prone is an understatement! But, I love how Ezra just goes with the flow and is there to catch her when she does fall, which is often lol. There is so much growth throughout this story as well as lots of life lessons. Classic LLV humor, with a touch of suspense and the witty banter I’ve come to love between her beloved characters. There were many subjects touched on that I felt LLV did justice in bringing the seriousness to life. No spoilers…you’ll just have to read and find out for yourself. Great start to what looks like another great series from Lani Lynn Vale.

This is my first book by this author and I decided to jump in blind. I did not read the blurb because I wanted to be surprised and I definitely was.
Ezra is the local high school football and baseball coach, the town’s most eligible bachelor, he is quite the catch. He might be cocky but he has a heart of gold. His rapport with his pupils is top notch and he treats them equally. The day he knocked Raleigh off her feet and made her nose bleed will definitely change his life.
Raleigh is one of the new teachers in her local high school. She is a walking disaster, the queen of klutz and a frequent visitor in the ER. To say that she is clumsy is an understatement. She has had a long-standing crush on Ezra since they went to the same school but he never even knew she existed. She always felt invisible blending in the shadows but when she fell over and got a black eye and a nose bleed, she finally got Ezra’s attention.
Told in dual points of view, this contemporary romance is set in a small town where everybody knows everyone’s business. Raleigh’s mishaps and accidents were so legendary that I sometimes felt it was a borderline slapstick comedy. But the tender moments and steamy escapades between Ezra and Raleigh are swoon-worthy and although this romantic tale is meant to be light-hearted, there are some serious issues that were actually tackled in this book.
I am glad that Raleigh was able to connect and help out a bullied student. The way that Raleigh and Ezra addressed the bullying is inspiring and quite apt with what is happening in our schools today. The secondary characters especially Moira, Ezra’s little niece provided the comic relief; her innocent quips were hilarious it gave me some laugh-out-loud moments. Ezra and Raleigh’s romance does not only entertain, but is also inspiring and heart-warming. I am glad I got to read this book, Lani Lynn Vale is my new favourite and I am looking forward to reading more of her books.
GAH!!! Such a fun adventure with Ezra and Raleigh!!! Who knew that the star jock, now coach would ever notice the awkward, clumsy nerd! He didn’t, until he did. This book just got better with every chapter.
This new series looks like it will be another Home Run for Lani Lynn Vale.

This was a really good story and unless I’m mistaken, this was all brand new characters with no intertwining like there normally is in an LLV book. Raleigh is super clumsy, she’s so bad that even the boys on the football and baseball teams at the high school she works at don’t want her to watch their games as her bad luck follows her there too. Coach McDuff however feels the opposite way and wants her wherever he is. Not something that he has always felt though as until he got caught up in one of Raleigh’s “incidents” she’d been invisible to him, something that broke her heart as she’s loved him from afar for years. Now she’s on his radar, will she finally come into the spotlight and get the man of her dreams or will her bad luck take him away from her too?
This was another highly enjoyable read from LLV with some fab new characters to get to know and a new town to visit and I’m hoping Camryn will get her story next. I give Hissy Fit 5 stars.

So for the first time in a very long time since Boomtown and I Like Big Dragons and I Cannot Lie, I can say: This is the start of the series and no other books are necessary to read this as we have NOT seen these characters before. That’s right folks, these are completely new people, off the chart, no record of…. you get the gist. Raleigh is a bit of klutz, no stranger to falling and hurting herself and sometimes other people get caught in the mishap as well. She has not had it easy, bullied in school, had some traumatic events in her life, but for all that she is still a happy person that cares about the kids she teaches. She knows what it’s like to be in love with someone and for that person to have no clue that you even exist. For her that person is Coach Ezra McDuff, a guy that she was in school with and now has worked at the same school with for years. She only sees him, while he has no clue she is even in the same room, that is until he witnesses one of her mishaps. From that point on Raleigh was on his radar and Ezra was going to stop at nothing to make her his.
This was so freaking funny, I laughed out loud so many times while reading this. I loved every minute of this story. From poor Raleigh and her klutziness, to Ezra and his somewhat clueless self, and side characters, that make me hope that they get their own stories. This wasn’t all laughs, and had some drama, and some really hot naughty bits. I can’t wait to see where this series goes. I give this 5 stars.
Ezra and Raleigh’s romance was one of those that is written in the stars…. atleast it feels that way. I love that Raleigh wasn’t the perfect heroine and had her own set of issues. She was clumsy which cracked me up, she was stubborn which made me love her that much more and she was also strong. She worked through her issues and came out on the other side. Once Ezra got his head out of his butt he was totally amazing.
There was people that didn’t like these characters and I wanted to kick them in their teeth. Like with most bag guys in stores you feel a dislike for them but my dislike made me want to just skip their names. It’s pretty funny now that I think about it. But when an author can invoke those feelings it makes a story a winner and that’s what this story was….. it was a huge winner and the perfect start to a new series. I can’t wait to see what’s to come. I really really want a certain student to get his own book! He totally deserves one. (Won’t say say though). 5 stars #2OCCJD
Plain and simple… I loved it! Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down!
I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I want to start with a question. Why do we make the heroine seem undesirable from the beginning? Raleigh is literally a walking disaster. She falls all of the time, hurts herself and usually other people near her and is basically invisible. How are any of those traits desirable. I understand all women deserve to be happy but I was a little unsure with this one. I didn’t even feel the attraction between them. And how did his niece and nephews just started calling her Aunt like they were together for that long. That being said, I am obviously very critical but it isn’t a bad story. Sometimes I let my desire for reality take over so I think you should still give this one a try.
My first though about this books was “Yay, a brand new series by an amazing author! I can’t wait to get started!” Second thought was, “Wait. What? Southern Gentlemen?!? That’s not what we do! We have bad boys, and we like them!” I have to say, I pouted a bit, thinking that a gentleman could never match up the LLV’s boys, then I got over myself, and started reading. And boy, was it a ride! Different? Sure. But I couldn’t help but love this story! Ezra and Raleigh were such a cute couple! And absolutely perfect for each other!
Raleigh is a teacher, in a small southern town. Everyone knows everyone, everyone went to school together, and everyone knows everyone else’s business, good and bad! She teaches high school in her home town, and wouldn’t have it any other way. But, simply put, Raleigh is a menace! As sweet and likable as she is, she’s beyond clumsy! It’s like she has a little black rain cloud over her all the time, and Murphy sits on her shoulder, waiting to embarrass her. But she also considers herself invisible, a wallflower, someone who sits on the sidelines of life, watching it go by. Until, one day, her clumsiness puts her front and center, right in front of the man that has had her attention forever, the same man who never even knew she existed!
Ezra is THAT guy! You know the one I’m talking about. He was the star football player in high school and college, then returned to his hometown to be the Football and Baseball Coach and most loved teacher. Literally, everyone loves him! But he is absolutely clueless! But that is what makes him so lovable! And when he realizes what is right in front of him, things go from 0 to 100! (I love insta-love!)
If I could sum this book up in one though, it’s that while Fate works in mysterious ways, she also works in her own time. Raleigh and Ezra grew up together, their entire lives, going to school together, being in classes together, and nothing ever happened. Until one day…… It’s absolutely crazy how things work out, but it sure makes for a fantastic story! I absolutely loved the connection between Ezra and Raleigh, how perfect they were together, how they balanced each other out, and how real they were! Neither were over the top bada**es, like you see in a lot of stories, but there was a level of realism, of sincerity and truthfulness to them that took this story to another level. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book, and how I’m eagerly anticipating the next story! (On a side note, I totally adored Morgan, and hope we see more of him in the future, Maybe he will get his own HEA?!? )
