Too bad his logic doesn’t always get through to his heart. When fate tempts him with a beautiful woman that appears to see through all of his defenses…

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC edition of this book, and I am giving my honest opinion.
First off…. Welcome back Ricky Baby! Those of you who have read this series (and the connecting ones) know Rick… and how can you not love him? Seriously… its Rick Freaking Hayes!
This is the extremely long awaited fifth book in the Space Lords series created by the insanely talented Michelle M. Pillow. Now I personally hated the long wait, but Rick’s story was worth it! We got to see all the crew members that we grew to love and care for once again.
Michelle once again has continued to create her own unique world that we are lucky enough to read and live. Michelle has this amazing ability that I think some authors who write in this genre fail to grasp. Her books—this one included—have a good and interesting story plot that flows and makes sense and aren’t rushed, well developed characters that you love and care for (and sometimes claim as your own book boyfriend… no judge from me ladies).
She has created complete worlds filled with magic, cultures and laws. Michelle has created new plants, animals and humanoid races that make sense and mean something. If you pick up His Woodland Maiden—or any of the marvelous Michelle M. Pillow’s books—you will be transported to a whole new world and not be sorry…. Until you have to come back to reality. This book is like many other of Michelle’s books. It is filled with action, suspense, romance and of course… humor. (Oh Rick and his twenty-first century comments…) If you’re looking for a good time, pick up this book and you won’t be sorry.
***4.5 stars***
Really enjoyed the last installment to the Space Lords series by Michelle M. Pillow. The series is tied up like a present with a bow. The characters are written well. Rick our playboy pilot meets his match in a sassy Harper. Loved the returning characters from earlier books. With the love that these two have can the curse be broken for Rick? A little melancholy the series has ended. But knowing this author she will come out with a new book/series that will have us laughing and glued to the page as well. Highly recommend this author and series.

Pilot Rick has just found the woman of his dreams- if she will just stay put. Harper has a list of things she has done- all part of her job .. if Rick will quit following her.
Finally Rick has met his match!! It’s great to see he has feelings and is not just a shallow guy looking for a good time.

So Fitting for Hero
I’ve only started reading this author this year (when I’ve gotten more into speculative fiction, and I’m certainly impressed by how she is able to write stories with such different feels to them. For instance, this book—like the others I’ve read in the series—has more than a touch of humor and excellent inside jokes if you’ve read more than one book in the series. Other books from other series read much more seriously. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series about five space pirates who are cursed until they find their one true love. This book ends the official series starring each one of them, but I hope they show up in other stories set in this expansive world. From what I knew of the hero of this book from the others, I wondered how his story would be. He’s the typical cocky, bad-boy pilot who’s a bit full of himself and considers himself to be quite the ladies’ man. The author did him justice in this book, giving him quite the storyline… including frequent near-memory wipes. The woman who ends up being his true mate does some pretty wild things to him, and I so enjoyed their interaction. This book’s humor borders on campiness, which makes reading it so much fun. The author leaves some hints about future series at the end. I’ve read this series’ books out of order, which is completely fine to do as the author describes the world enough that you don’t get lost, and I look forward to reading the other books in it I have not yet read.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
An edge of your seat exciting adventure from beginning to end that was so hard to put down. Action packed, emotional roller-coaster filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and thrilling turns.
Rick and Harper finish off this great series. Rick is a space pirate and he loses his memories before he meets his sole mate. Things seem familiar and easy but he can not remember. The characters are strong and determined. The storyline has plenty of drama, danger, sass, twists and surprises. Loved the connection between the two as they figure out their relationship. Great ending.

His Woodland Maiden by Michelle M. Pillow is the 5th and final book for these space pirates!!
I loved it!!!
I was sort of on the fence about Rick throughout this series and ending up just absolutely loving his story and so glad I had him pegged all wrong – it just made his story that much better. Great storyline and as always with this authors books, my attention was grabbed at the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the audio narration as well!!
Rick comes across a woman that he remembers but doesn’t know why. He chases her down and recalls she had kidnapped him before and taken him to the mines. His memory isn’t very clear so he wants answers.
Harper can’t believe Rick is in her way again. She has to keep saving his life but she doesn’t want to stay away. Even though she knows it’s for the best, she has a big secret to hide and a dangerous mission to complete.
I love the pairing of Rick and Harper, she is the perfect woman for him, strong, beautiful, sassy. This story had it all, excitement, romance, action, humor, and all the characters we loved from the previous series. I didn’t want it to end, and was sad when it did. I am so hoping that we meet these characters again, they feel like old friends we don’t want to say goodbye to. Thanks, Michelle for the excellent storytelling.

I was so excited to finally get to Rick’s story! He’s definitely been a favorite character through all the Space Lords tales that I’ve read – and I wasn’t disappointed! Rick as a hero is, someone, even more enjoyable than Rick as a secondary character, and I loved his heroine, Harper, as well. There’s a lot of humor in this book, even though the world that these pirates navigate in is truly something out of corrupt, dystopian playbook in a lot of ways. This book had a lot of twists and turns, lots of series references that were explained enough – I think – that new-to-series readers would be find taking up this story as a standalone romance, and a heart-warming and uplifting ending that left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. His Woodland Maiden is a really exciting space adventure romance that hit the spot perfectly. Pillow once again has thrilled and elated me, and I’m only sorry that I have to say goodbye to all my pirate friends and their loved ones.

* Spoiler* I enjoyed this story of Rick the space pirate who keeps bumping into the heroine who happens to be a spy working for the Human Intellegence Agency (HIA). Each time they meet, she wipes his memory by injecting him with formula which makes him forget her in order to protect him from her employer. Of course this doesn’t stop him from bumping into her again and again when she is undercover as different personas. Together with Rick’s crew and help from a friend from Ricks childhood, they go on a planetary recue mission
I love Harper, she is so like me and she put Rick in his place and I think that is why he fell for her. 5 pirates and a feisty woman and Rick wins it all. This one is the best by far for me at least.

Loved this series of the space pirates and this was a fitting end. Rick is footloose and fancy free. At least that is what he thinks until he meets Harper. She captures him and something about her is familiar but he just cannot put his finger on why. The story is a bit patchy, especially at the beginning but hang in there and it turns into an enjoyable and amusing read.

I was waiting for this book. It’s finally our jovial, smartass Rick’s turn to find his elemental maiden. There were so many times I’d like to smack his head but kinda think about it, he is lovable that way. There’s more to him than meets the eye and wouldn’t you know, he is a hero after all.

This was my third book I’ve read in this series which is the end of this series and I found the story about Space Pirate Rick Hayes and Harper Virant a book I couldn’t put down. This madcap adventure romance with Rick who is paired with Harper and all that they have to endured to reach their HEA was a romantic, action packed, and engaging storyline that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout. I’ll have to catch up on the first two books in this enjoyable series.
I love how this started with secrets unknown, and the incredible things these space pirates come across are amazing. This author’s creativity when it comes to describing the events that take place in these alien worlds keep the reader intrigued. In this book, Rick finally finds his bride, but the turn of events was totally unexpected, and even with all of the action, the humor was still there. Definitely read this book as well as the rest of this series.

Space Pirate Rick gets his own love story but it’s not without challenges as his mate keeps erasing his memories. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this book, the storyline is entertaining and filled with action and adventure. The interaction and chemistry between the characters Harper and Rick is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
It’s Rick’s turn to break the curse and fall in love. Rick has fallen in love with Harper, maybe his curse is broken. I liked that the other couples were in the book. I liked this whole series. I don’t mind that there are steamy parts cause the couples getting together is so sweet. All of Michelle’s book are good and this series is no exception. I highly recommend it.
I absolutely love this author! I’m glad I have had the opportunity to read her books. I have loved every single one that I have read. Would definitely recommend!
