I enjoyed reading this book. The story was short, but had a punch and a little mystery to it. Recommend this book
Wow, this was so different from the other books in the May Flower collaboration.
It starts off very steamy when Lily and Gerrit meet in a bar and swiftly take their attraction elsewhere to get down and dirty. Lily has a secret, though, which we aren’t privy to at first, but when she opens up to Gerrit, we too learn all about her past and the tribulations she is suffering.
Gerrit is there for her all the way, even when things turn scary. There is a major unexpected action scene which gives this book an extra layer as, at first, you think it is going to be all blush moments, but it is so much more than that.
It is really well written, the characters are likeable, and you are really wanting them to get their happy ever after and for Lily to get back what is rightfully hers.
It would have been nice if this book had been a full-blown novel so that the tension and events could have unfolded more slowly. We would have been kept in suspense longer and really felt part of the story. It did work well as a short story as well; I just wanted to keep reading. I wasn’t done with these characters and wanted more.
Overall, a really fantastic read and I really liked the offbeat action that isn’t usually present in these books.
I loved the idea of this book the storyline but i just could not connect with Lily she seemed robotic to me and i do understand why. I lived our hero and little Nolan. Both had my heart.
