Wow! I don’t know how these ladies think of all these things. This is a start to a series so there was a lot of world and character building. The main couple Ann and Rager didn’t get together right away because of that. I really like the story and was blown away by how much they thought about this alien race and the little details in a story. I would definitely recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This is a story about when something like an apocalypse occurs and it changes some people into wolves and leaves the rest humans. Ann and her family along with their neighbors the Wolfsons all head to a bunker to survive whatever is happening. Now years later they come out and aliens are in control making things different even more so than when they entered the bunker. Ann’s family ends up in favor with the aliens and Ann gets promised to one in marriage. While Rex and his family are made to work because they are wolves. Rex doesn’t like that someone else may get Ann other than him. Will Rex continue to cause problems for Ann? What will the future hold with her new love?
This is an amazing story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Very interesting storyline – took me a little bit to get into the story at first, but then I really couldn’t wait to see what happened. I loved how the details were all there from start to finish of how this was the end of the world as we know it and a new world begins again. A lot of great characters, romance, heat, family, love and of course the villain of the story. Looking forward to the next book.
This was a fantastic scifi romance from Summer Cooper. Now I normally don’t read scifi romance because it’s not my cup of tea but I have read other books from Summer Cooper and really enjoyed them so I decided to give this one a try and I was not disappointed. It was creatively written with twists that I enjoyed reading and characters that readers will love and hate. Ann is a human girl who has been infatuated with her childhood friend Rex for years. Things begin changing for Ann when her dreams include a handsome alien; An alien who Ann doesn’t know she will be meeting very soon. His to Take is captivating with its twists, hatred for the alien race between the humans and wolf races alike, secrets, passion, a forced marriage, and an alien invasion. This was a great story that I really enjoyed reading. I especially loved the cliffhanger readers were left with.
“I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.”
I really enjoyed this story! It had tons of details to keep me reading and hooked on each page. We start with Ann and her infatuation with Rex, the All American High School Dream boy! With the world ending things change drastically and they are locked in a bunker for 5 long years. Once they finally came out i loved how the story took us on a journey that was not expected but truly amazing! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
This book is the first in a new series set in a post-apocalyptic world. A widespread shift in the planet’s core causes volcanoes to erupt around the world resulting in an ice age. Ann and her parents as well as her neighbor and crush Rex and his family escape the worst of it and seek shelter in an underground bunker. At the time they were teenagers, but 5 years later, they emerge into a renewed world as adults. But things can never be normal again. Not only did a lot of people inexplicably have their DNA changed making them into werewolves, including Rex and his family, but the healing of the planet was done courtesy of aliens. These aliens are now their overlords and determine who does what. Regular humans are given jobs running things while the wolves are little more than slaves. As they all try to find their place in this new world, new problems arise that threaten the future. The characters in this book vary and I have the feeling we’ve only touched the surface of their personalities in this book. Ann is strong-willed but struggles with her feelings for Rex. Rex is a self-entitled jerk that I couldn’t stand that I’m sure will be causing problems in the future. Then there is Rager, the supreme commander of the aliens. You don’t really get to know him much in this book but I’m looking forward to seeing more of him. Overall, this was a good introduction to the series and characters hinting at things to come in the next books.
I do not normally read “these types of books” but I enjoyed this one. The characters we well written, so much to the point I wanted to hop into the story and strangle Rex, the immature boy that Ann has had a crush on for as long as she can remember. When strange dreams start to invade her sleep, all she can think of is “why can’t Rex be like this?” There is a moral thread than runs through this story about prejudice but it does not detract from the storyline.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
This was a very interesting and entertaining read. With that being said I really had a hard time understand Ann lord know I wanted to take her and shake her naivety was really annoying. This book does have cliffhanger ending so I’m hoping that book two will run more smoothly and give more information about the overloads and what happened with earth in this universe. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Ann’s world is like ours, but as if we were seeing it through a funhouse mirror. It’s easy to see that a lot of care and attention has gone into the building of her world. Perhaps a bit too much as I felt it hindered the story at times. Ann’s an interesting leading character. Due to the apocalypse, she’s grown up very sheltered and so she comes across as naïve on occasion. Rex never managed to endear himself to me, and I don’t think I know enough about Rager to be able to form an accurate opinion about him. I’m intrigued and would like to see where this story goes next.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
A Post-Apocalyptic Alien Overlord Romance
February 20, 2020 is when so many things change for world, but this story about journey of 2 family & their struggles to survive
When the Wolfson’s & Adams’s embarked on this journey, they were close friends & neighbor…
Ann Adam was average 15-year-old teenager with silly dreams she was love-struck with her neighbor Rex Wolfson since they were kids, so you can imagine how she felt being locked in a bunker for just slightly over 5 years with the love of her life
Rex Wolfson was the high school girl dream boy , he excelled both baseball & football…. You can say he was sport junky
Rex had everything in his eyes , parents who spoil him to death , all the girls from school who chase after him… He was just super star in his small piece of middle class living in sunny California… now imagine losing that shining light to live under ground for 5 long years
Fast forward 5 years & the world outside had chanced & now the Wolfson’s & Adams’s embarked on new journey to discover what lays ahead for the human race! You’ll also see that there have been huge changes in both family since they 1st went underground.
What will Wolfson’s & Adams’s find?
Has the human race survived?
What other race will they find?
What will they have to endure for their survival?
These & so many other questions will be answer!
My thoughts on the book
This book was MEH.
It’s not like it is bad or something. But it’s just meh. Boring at times for me . I didn’t feel the book. Ann seem to be too decent at times. Ann was a desperate virgin at times, the way she let Rex treat her like doormat drove me freakin insane . She had very intelligent parents. I just don’t feel like she had mature enough at times!
Lord I can fill your ears with how much I didn’t like Rex! He struck nerve with me from the very being of this book & things just went downhill from there.. Rex in my eyes couldn’t redeem himself for all the stuff he said & done to Ann
I’ve read few of Selina Coffey books & also love her imagination on syfy… if Selina Coffey write character more mature in her upcoming books in this series I would definitely read more about this world!
Important note
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book, this is my honest, voluntary review. Paulette thoughts & Review
