More specifically, Grizzly Ridge. From the moment he lays eyes on her, Axel knows the curvy brunette is more than just a guest at his lodge. Much more. Every bear shifter has a mate. She’s his. And whether his brothers believe in fated mates or not, nothing will keep Axel from what’s his. But first he’ll need to convince Harper that what she’s feeling is more than lust. It’s fate.

Paranormal romance come to life. It’s a quick read & flows amazingly. If you enjoy a little drama and a happy ending then this is a book for you.
I loved this book! It is funny, romantic, steamy, with a HEA! The main characters Harper and Axel are wonderful characters. Harper is running from a bad situation brought on by her so to be ex. Axel is building a new life with his brothers after being thrown out of their clan. When Harper and Axel come together, boy is it a funny, hot time! He knows that she is his “fated mate” she has no idea of what that means. You really need to read it to find out what happens. I will be starting the second brothers story tonight!!!
A fun afternoon read.
Harper was getting screwed over (and not in a great way) her husband was leaving her for another man (she’d known he’d been gay for many years in their marriage) and was spinning it in such a way that it was her fault, and the company they both owned, well that wasn’t doing too good with the bad publicity she was getting. Harper needed to get away, preferably an island in the middle of nowhere, but her best friend came up with the next best solution, join her as a travel companion to a retreat in Montana (her friend writes travel reviews for a magazine) so Harper goes, with the intention of drowning her sorrows.
Axel is a bear with a plan, after being thrown out of their home (by their father who told them to bring his daughter home, they didn’t, and so were banished) Alex and his brothers are creating a new life, one in Montana, they’ve built a retreat and intend on opening it up (trekking in the summer, skiing in the winter) so they need a good review from the writer they have coming to stay for a few days.
The attraction between Harper and Alex was instant (more on Alex’s side as he’s convinced this woman is his mate) it doesn’t take long for them to do something about this attraction. Harper sees it as a thing to help her get over her husband and his schemes. But Alex is looking at forever, and he doesn’t intend on his mate getting away from him.
The other two brothers are very much against Harper and Alex getting together (if it wasn’t for their sister running off to be with her “mate”, then they would still be at the Den with their family) neither believe in forever mates, but watching Alex and Harper together, the two brothers give their blessing.
It’s a fun little read. It did have potential to be more. And the next books are about the brothers and their sister. It was free so that was a big plus.
Will I read the others ?? I’m not sure
Just like every other shifter book I’ve read. It wasnt terrible, but it also wasn’t the greatest. I guess I just also hope for more when I read them.
I just loved it, but wished it had been longer.
Eh. It’s nothing earth-shattering, but I found it to be a quick, easy read that whiled away an hour or two. Honestly, right before this one I had read one of those romances that had barely-disguised rape scenes so it was extremely refreshing to come to a book that was completely, no grey area, consensual. Bit sad that this is apparently a high standard that many books fail to reach, but there we have it. The plot was a bit iffy- a mixture of an over-dramatic kind of unrealistic starting situation (motive? Motive I ask you!) to a lull that then segues into a really ridiculous confrontational scene with the “bad guys” (again- motive? Why would they bother? It is a stupid plan for the bad guys.) but ultimately it’s unoffensive, straightforward, and a pleasant palette cleanser.
Axel Jackson and his brothers built a resort on Grizzly Ridge. He has a writer for travel magazine coming to rate their resort and she is bringing a guest with her. Harper is trying to keep her stuff together while going through a divorce, being accused of embezzlement and loss of her reputation. As soon as Axel sees her he is smitten with the knowledge she is his mate. So much fun to read will buy more in series.
The title alone put me off completely.
Really enjoyed this, loved the area it took place and the characters. Great !
Not really my cup of tea…..a guy who changes into a bear…..really……
There’s a definite lack of any actual connection between the characters. Good for a quick read if you’re not looking for anything amazing.
I LOVE this book, and the other three of the serie, I have read It without a rest!!!!
Loved this book, will read the series
Excellent paranormal romance
The characters were a bit flat. There is nothing glaringly bad about it, but it just came up short in character development, plot and execution.
Love native-American folk lore. Shape shifters are very real when you live in the Western States and you know families who believe. White man’s knowledge is limited.
Axel and his brothers have started a retreat in the mountains and they have asked Nina, a reporter, to come and write a story about Grizzly Ridge. Nina brings her best friend, Harper, who has been having a lot of problems lately to come with her as an escape. What better way to escape life’s problems than going to a retreat. Especially a retreat run by three very gorgeous men. Every women’s dream.
Its written showing that sometimes life doesn’t go as planned and you never know what be around the corner.
Really enjoyed this book. I just wish I could get the paperback version so that it can be reread several times.
It was ok, but not my favorite
