Marcus didn’t want a relationship.
He was happy with meaningless flings. But Lana had a way about her that sucked him in and welcomed a hungry possessiveness. From the moment they met, he knew the unattainable beauty would be his to keep. If that’s what he wanted. What he didn’t expect was to fall head over heels. And lose his mind when she disappears. Trauma rakes up his demons. He’s caught … rakes up his demons. He’s caught between pain and desire.
Perhaps he’s better off alone.
The night Lana met Marcus, he won her over with devilish arrogance and magnetic good looks. She never imagined their secret spark would explode into passionate fireworks. That she would one day be his. Until her ex-boyfriend makes a grave mistake. The unthinkable happens. Lana steps into danger and fears she might never see the complex man of her dreams again. Her life depends on him. Her heart is in his hands.
Even heroes can break your heart…. and Lana has to face the hardest lesson of all. Survival.
You’ll love this romantic suspense with twists, turns and steamy hot scenes because everyone dreams of an alpha hero.

The ending to this duet was okay. At some points the main character seemed to over exaggerate, which made me roll my eyes. For example, Lana got insanely jealous and picked a huge fight with Marcus, which caused some major backlash.
It was suspenseful in parts. We’re waiting for Carl to make a move and come back for Lana. He’s so crazy! Autumn Archer did a good job writing his character, making him seem psycho. Which he is.
I feel that Lana and Marcus’ relationship escalated really quickly and didn’t feel real to me. It seemed almost forced.
Overall, I do give this book 3.5 stars.
