It’s my job to keep her safe. But I want something in return.Protect and serve?I’ll protect her, all right. But she’ll love me first.I’m the Chief and Police and I get what I want. At least until I find Emma knee-deep in trouble. Those gorgeous eyes, perfect hair, pouty lips. She makes a growl slip from my throat and I can’t stop myself before I offer her my protection. There’s a catch, of course. … protection.
There’s a catch, of course. I’ll keep her safe, but she better repay me over, and over, and over again.
My hands on her hips, pulling her close against my body, I’ll whisper in her ear.
You want safety? I want you.
I can’t help myself. I’m falling for this girl, harder than I ever imagined.
She’s my new girl, and she’ll get whatever she wants and much more.
His Thrust is an ultra hot and over the top dark romance featuring an older man and a younger woman. It has super steamy scenes and some bad language. It’s only recommended for readers 18+. If you love a gorgeous a–hole that gets what he wants, this book is for you!!
His Thrust is a safe standalone novella with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. Enjoy!!
Note: All my books are standalones and can be read in any order.

This is the third story in this series. Emma is on the run and hopes to hide in this small town. Rhett is the chief of police, and he promises Emma protection, but at what cost? This is a well written quick read, which is dark, steamy, intense, and with secrets. I look forward to reading more form this talented author, whose work I recommend.
A dark romance with a twist.
Emma is an adult and makes the decision to run away from an abusive home. She chooses a small town she has no knowledge of and no money at all. But little did she know that she would trade the home she ran away from for a place to stay where the chief of police lives. It’s not hearts and flowers though.
She ends up in his basement but she is also getting protection after witnessing a murder shortly after she arrives in Pine Grove. That’s the trade off. She’s not sure what else she would be able to do since she had no money at all. All she had was a back pack with a few clothing items.
Rhett has a no so great background but there is something to him. He finds he’s attracted to Emma. But there are certain things he likes and they aren’t your typical thing. The town itself is corrupt and Rhett’s redeeming qualities don’t shine through until he becomes emotionally involved with Emma.
This was a very interesting dark romance. A light did shine through beyond the middle of the book.
Definitely recommend if you like dark romances that have interesting characters, twists and turns, steamy scenes and a good ending.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through an arc.
Welcome to Pine Grove, the place where people go to run away and disappear but don’t realize the danger, darkness, secrets, and corruption that lurks there. Emma is running away from her parents and ends up in Pine Grove. Having run out of money, Emma enters through the back of a convenience store and witnesses a murder. Rhett is a handsome, much older man who is also Pine Grove’s chief of police. Rhett answers the silent alarm at the convenience store and runs into Emma who is running away from the scene. Rhett makes Emma a proposition that she really can’t refuse. Will Emma submit to Rhett and his dark desires? Will Emma break through Rhett’s shields? Will Rhett and Emma find the murderer before he disappears? Can two people with secrets and issues find their happily ever after? I wasn’t really sure how I felt about His Thrust but found myself enjoying the dark romance between the older man/younger woman. His Thrust by BB Hamel is a dark and somewhat creepy story full of danger, corruption, hot sex, and emotion overload. I liked this twisted, creepy story that kept me glued to my kindle. I would definitely recommend getting His Thrust by BB Hamel. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
Okay, so I do enjoy BB’s Pine Grove series. It has that mystery vibe to it. The men are weird and alpha like. The woman are needy and in need of some heavy handiness… You know all that fun fake romance stuff we like to read about sometimes.
But this one I did not like all that much. His Thrust had all the elements, but it was rushed. Everything seemed to be to fast and pushed through. I didn’t like that. I did enjoy Emma and Rhett as a couple and together, but again the story was too rushed for my liking.
Um, this one is a little bit creepy because of the over the top prisoner thing and the inferences of the other wanderers before Emma. Nothing is really explained. It is just a sense you get while reading, kind of like a Stephan King novel.
Emma is the twenty year old runaway that finds herself in the small town of Pine Grove which, is in the middle of nowhere. She has had a rough and disadvantaged upbringing. Now, she is a bit of a sticky legal situation and Rhett offers her help…with a catch.
There isn’t much character development of Rhett, the Chief of Police. He does not seem in his right mind most of the time but, manages to find an attraction towards Emma he has never felt before. Their relationship is definitely different and scary at times but, they have some hot, passionate sex that dominates their minds and hearts to something that manages to get to a happily ever after.
Let’s go back to Pine Grove for Emma and Rhett story. Full of suspense, drama and twists along the way for them, There chemistry was sizzling HOT. Defo a must read and I highly recommend it, I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
Very quick paced read! Book 3 in the Pine Grove series finds Emma getting a real introduction to the twisted small town with it’s unique quirks. Emma stumbles upon a real eye opening scene, fresh out of her parents’ home she’s hoping for freedom but soon comes under control of the local police chief. She goes from one “cage” to another. Rhett, handsome devil, has some very devilish thoughts when he encounters the hungry runaway.
3.5 stars. A dark and different tale, this story was a departure for this author’s previous works. While the characters were developed, the writing was good and the story flowed well; there was also a bit of a creep factor that didn’t quite work for me.
While this book is very intense, dark, and dominant, there were a lot of emotions in the story for me; especially around the main female character. I enjoyed the characters together, but the main male character, on his own was a bit too much for me. At times felt borderline abusive/psychotic rather then romantic.
The plot was great and I enjoyed the uniqueness of this story. It was fun to read about a police chief and a small town. If you like dark, this might just be the book for you! I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.
Dark, twisty, surreal…2.5stars!
His Thrust is the third book in the Pine Grove series, and it’s my first read into this series. I’m dumbstruck. I mean, dark, filthy, over-the-top, filled with menace, and not-so-nice people. And romantic? This had me seeking the author’s disclosure notes: “ Welcome to Pine Grove, the darkest and dirtiest little small town in America!
Pine Grove is a steamy and over the top dark standalone romance featuring a gorgeous hero with a dark past and the heroine he can’t enough of.”
Emma is a runaway, seeking escape from an abusive life only to stumble into a situation that has her trading one prison for another. She witnesses a murder and the police chief of Pine Grove is there to whisk her away. Rhett wants Emma but is also determined to protect her from the machinations of a small town. Their connection is all about his wanting control over Emma, But is she willing to give her life and freedom for total submission? Is protection, being taken care of, something she’s seeking in her life? I didn’t really feel a bond between these two by the time they declared their affection for each other.
Okay, it’s not a fluffy romance, warning the story is dark. Just step away and seek rainbows elsewhere. But if you like your romance dark, and twisty with a flair for the macabre, this might be for you. BB Hamel took a chance with this one, and although well-written, it didn’t settle well with me. There are inferences about Rhett’s past that creeped me out and not really explained. Just suspend your belief enough to acknowledge the entertainment value of this gritty story which is filled with plenty of steamy scenes. I voluntarily received and reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Creepy, crazy, dark, intense, suspenseful, steamy, deliciousness. What more could you ask for in a book? This book was more than I could imagine and then some. BB does it again with another awesome book.
