I fought hard to escape a life of danger and despair for my daughter and me.We are fiercely independent and completely self-sufficient.Of course, having the hottest steamy night of my life with the sexy bad boy next door is something I want more of.However, he’s a player, and his reputation is all about keeping it casual.I’m not into that and I’m sure I’d be better off without him until my worst … off without him until my worst nightmare happens and I have nowhere else to turn.
Now I need him like I’ve never needed anyone before, but can he help me?

It’s funny how one can go through high school with blinders on and then almost twenty years later you have your eyes wide open. Jax has moved out the small town he grew up in, he is now a mechanic at a custom motorcycle shop and has his own house and a dog. He is a bit of a player but is always up front and honest about his one night tyrists with the ladies. Nikko has not been as successful and happy with her life since high school. In fact now she is a single Mom, divorced from her abusive ex and starting over in a small town not far from where she grew up and went to school. Her and her daughter move into a rental next door to a biker, who is as hot as he is tattooed and not even starting in on the way his clothes highlight his body. Do they neighbors recognize each other? Can Nikki take a chance to move forward? What about her daughter? This was a fast paced but enjoyable read with a HEA.

This was a Second Chance Romance even though Nikki never really remembered Jax when they were in high school.
Twenty years later Nikki, now divorced with a ten year old daughter returned to her hometown with Jax as her neighbor.
This was sweet and romantic as the now tattooed motorcycle riding Jax is the player bad boy in town that had all the women drooling over him.
His heart was still stuck on Nikki though and I liked the way he tried to give her space but was always receptive to her advances.
A bit of drama with the exes return although that was wrapped up nicely.
A satisfying albeit abrupt HEA in this short but entertaining read.

WOW this book takes you on a emotional merry go round as iy draws you in and makes you hang on till that very last page
Nikki as escaped a violent marriage with her ten year old daughter Kaylie she has fled and is living close to the town she grew up in hoping that is far enough away her husband isn’t suppose to come anywhere near them but she isn’t taking any chances. One day her car breaks down and her hot as sin tattooed neighbour offers to fix it for a dinner She feels she knows him but can’t figure out from where. What she hasn’t realised is that she went to school with Jackson (Jax) Dwyer but he was skinny runt with a crush on her in those days. As things heat up between them Nikki will need to decide if she is wanting another relationship and Jax will have to step up when Kaylie goes missing.
This story made me so happy. The protagonists are so strong and vulnerable with each other. I loved it.

This was a great book! Jax and Nikki had so much chemistry and were great characters! Nikki Patterson along with her 10 year old daughter, Kaylie, left behind an abusive life of 11 years. The end came when Nikki’s husband, Brock, hit Nikki in front of their daughter. After months of living with her parents, Nikki was ready for a fresh start in a new place with Kaylie. Her divorce had gone through and there was a restraining order on Brock not to be anywhere near them. Nikki meets her hot as sin neighbor, Jax. Nikki’s car dies on her and Jax offers to fix it at night and offers to transport Nikki back and forth to work while its being done. One night after dinner and Kaylie has gone to bed Jax and Nikki have sex. But Jax has quite the reputation with women and Nikki starts wondering if it is a mistake. Jax just may be the only person to turn to when her world turns upside down.
I really loved the short story of Nikki, her daughter Kaylie and Jax. It was funny, sweet and handled the though subject of domestic abuse in a delicate way if you can say that about such a difficult topic. The abuse that Nikki went through was described in such a way that you knew it was serious withouth beeing to graffic, and the currage it took for her to get out and to take the chance at love again was great. Jax was described as a though playboy, but turned out to be a real sweet guy. I really liked this story.

I liked Nikki and Jax’s story. Some of the events that transpired were confusing but was easy enough to catch up. I wish there would have been an epilogue.

This is a sweet small town second chance romance between Nikki and Jax. The author does a great job bringing strong characters and an emotional story line. She builds their friendship to a hot romance , adds drama with her ex as well as Jax’s determination to keep her and her daughter safe. It’s a well written book brought to life with detailed scenes that had me turning the pages to the end. I loved and would recommend reading this book.

Great romantic story with lots of loving, just enough drama to keep it interesting, and, of course, passion.

GOOD BOOK
Liz did it again!!! Nikki is coming out of a horribly abusive relationship. She moves to a small town right next door to a guy, Jax. He remembers her from HS but her not so much. He had feelings for her since then. She finally realizes she knows him from school & wants to get to know him more. She opens her heart to him & her daughter really enjoys spending time with Jax. When her daughter, Kaylie doesn’t come home from school Jax goes into protective mode & starts looking for Kaylie. He finds her after being taken by the one person that should love her. Her father. ONE INCREDIBLE THRILL!!!
OMG! This is one total knock out, throw down, hit the steel wall and lights out exciting type. Buckle up baby, you’re in for the long haul. You won’t be parting with this baby until the last word. In fact you may not want to part with it then. One, heart pounding, pulse racing, page turning bombshell that’s as riveting as it is captivating. Dealing with all the trials and tribulations, ups and downs, propel this baby to life skillfully. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and individuality that make it easy to relate. Liz brought out the magic with all the drama, intrigue and suspense while the tension spirals as this stunning storyline and gripping plot brings this little gem together skillfully. Man, this little jewel totally blew me away. Fantastic job Liz, thanks for sharing.
Jackson, aka Jax, and Nikki with her young Daughter Kaylie are going to break your heart and then mend it seamlessly together again. Ms. Liz Peters has just released a beautifully crafted romance for all of us to follow along to.
Newly divorced Nikki has relocated her and her Daughter to a small town close to where she grew up. After her volatile marriage, to an abusive man, Brock; Nikki has started her new life over again and the last thing she’s looking for is love. Meeting her new neighbor certainly gets her heart pumping and there is definite chemistry between the bad boy Jax and Nikki. Although he looks familiar, she just cannot place him. However, the realization that they went to school together, is a real shocker as he looks nothing like he used to. Jax is quite honestly, good hearted/natured and down right deliciousness in one fine form. I don’t like to give away any part of the plot, so that I do not ruin it for reader’s, however, I can assure all romance junkies, like myself, to followalong because you’re going to love this incredible book.
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader’s copy of His Ride in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by Ms. Peters.
A divorced mother from her abusive spouse starting over in a new town, A big, tattooed hunk as a next door neighbor. She keeps needing his help. He bends over backward for her and her daughter. Come to find out, he sorta had a crush on her in high school. He was nerdy looking then. Read to find out if she realizes looks can be deceiving and loyalty is everything. Well written.
Nikki, an abused soon to be ex-wife, and her 10-year-old, flee to a small town not far from where she grew up but far enough away from her abusive ex husband to maintain no contact with him for her daughter’s sake.
She soon needs help with her old car that needs many repairs. Her next-door neighbor, Jax, after a rocky introduction over a pizza delivery gone wrong, comes to her aide. He not only offers to fix her car since he is a mechanic but offers to take her the short distance to work and back for the few days her car will be out of commission. Jax, or Jackson Dwyer as she knew him in high school, had a crush on Nikki since way back when.
Jax becomes her protector and her friend. Until she thinks maybe they should call it quits. Maybe it wouldn’t be a good thing for her daughter to see her single mom having men over so soon after the divorce. Jax doesn’t push it at the time.
It takes a lot before that happens. But that might be a spoiler alert kinda thing if I say much more. So, I’ll stop here and just say that I truly enjoyed the story. The book, the characters, and the story line all were solid and held my interest from page one through till the last page. It was a one sitting read for me.
His Ride: A Protector Next Door Romance is a great read. interesting, touching and intense.; a story of jax and Nikki,a well written story, strong characters with great chemistry, well done! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book!!! thanks!
Great story of a second chance at the girl who never knew you existed in high school.
This sweet love story teaches us several lessons, one it is never to late to get away from a abusive relationship, two don’t judge people by how they look, and three sometimes the best thing you can do is put your heart out there and take a chance.
