I fought hard to escape a life of danger and despair for my daughter and me.We are fiercely independent and completely self-sufficient.Of course, having the hottest steamy night of my life with the sexy bad boy next door is something I want more of.However, he’s a player, and his reputation is all about keeping it casual.I’m not into that and I’m sure I’d be better off without him until my worst … off without him until my worst nightmare happens and I have nowhere else to turn.
Now I need him like I’ve never needed anyone before, but can he help me?

Jax and Nikki new each other in school. She moves away from her abusive ex as a single mom now. Jax comes to her rescue with her broken down car and their relationship starts. Once she gets over her prejudices, Nikki finds true love. I loved the background details of this storyline. I am voluntarily leaving my review of this ARC.
Nikki was abused by her ex-husband but finally got the courage to leave him because of their daughter. They move to another place because they ended up having to get a restraining order against him. Nikki works as a waitress while her daughter is at school but their next door neighbor draws both of their interests. Jax is a mechanic and he is Nikki’s neighbor he keeps meaning to go introduce himself but is always busy with work. However when their pizza deliveries get mixed up they end up meeting to exchange their orders. Jax recognizes Nikki from when they were in high school together but he looks nothing like the scrawny nerd he was back then so she didn’t remember him. When her car wouldn’t start the next morning he offered to look it over. It needed more work than either had time for so Jax took her to work until he could work on it for her. During the time he worked on her car they got close and he blended in with her little family. When her ex showed back up and causes problems will this send Jax running? Will Jax show Nikki that he is different from her ex?
This is a great story that will draw you in from start to finish. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Jax is a mechanic and a good one he is. His boss, that happened to be his best friend too, knows that.
Nikki decides to leave his abusive husband when he hits her in front of their little girl. She just doesn’t want Kaylie to live the hell she had been living for over ten years.
The story flows nicely, it is easy to read and enjoyable. However, there is something that is not credible at all and that is the fact that Nikki, having been abused for so long by her husband, just got to bed with Jax a couple of days after meeting him. Just no way! It takes ages for an abused woman to trust another person, let alone another male. 3.5 stars.
A great book to read that has thrills, love, and a sexy tatted big biker to be the blunt brutally honest biker to help out a single mother who turns out to be from his past in the younger days in life. The history built a small torch of grief friendship that grew into more and blossomed into a HEA. I recommend if you like animal loving sexy tatted bikers with a heart of gold and with a mouth that spews nothing but blunt brutal honesty.

Nikki and Jax are neighbors in a small town and have some really great chemistry. Nikki has recently returned to the small town as she tries to escape an abusive husband and so there may be a possible trigger there for some reader. This is a well written romance with (mostly) likable characters and easy-going dialogue between them. It’s a short story and well worth the read with some drama, mystery and suspense to go along with the romance.

Moving back to your roots can be the best thing to ever happen for you and your family
His Ride by Liz Peters was a wonderful romance story about Nikki and Jax. She is a newly divorced mother of a 10 year old girl whose ex was abusive. So she is dealing with a lot of emotional turmoil and trying to heal herself and keep her daughter safe. She just moved to a small coastal town in the south, I am thinking Georgia as he moved from Atlanta, about 40 miles from the small town that she grew up in.
Her neighbor is a big, hard muscled, tattooed, Harley riding bad boy. His name is Jax and it turns out that they went to the same high school together but Nikki does not recognize him. Little wonder as he was a skinny, acne plagued, introverted geek. But he always had a crush on Nikki as she was the quintessential cheerleader. It is funny that he recognizes her but when she does not with him he is pissed off at this. Jax is a mechanic at a custom bike building shop in town and has a comfortable like that works for him – work, staying unattached and single but with multiple one night sleep overs with a bad boy reputation (well earned with fights and some arrests) but will still do whatever he can for friends when needed.
Nikki is busy working as a waitress at one of the local diners, being a mother to her daughter, getting them settled into a new town and just trying to keep it together. So the last thing she is looking for or even wanting is a man in her life. But one morning when her car won’t start Jax comes over and offers to help. Well one thing leads to another and the next thing Nikki knows she is holding on to Jax real tight with a Harley vibrating between her thighs as he drives her to work. They have a few days of this as Jax fixes her crap car and she cooks dinner in return. The only problem is that even though Jax looks bad she recognizes that he is actually really good. Where as her ex was a cop, but fired from the force, who looked all upright but was the exact opposite behind closed doors.
These two have an interesting time doing the on and off and on again thing until they finally figure out that they are really good together. Nikki especially needs to decide if she can trust Jax as she feels her judgement is way off base after the disaster that was her previous relationship. But in the end the right decisions are made and Jax does show her exactly how far he is willing to go to ensure that she and her daughter are protected from anyone, including the stalker ex.
Liz Peters has written a touching story with a lot of emotion and great characters. A few parts with a bit much but on the whole this story kept me entertained and engaged. I just kept rooting for Nikki to come into her own and for her and Jax to find each other. Plus the “climbing him like a tree” scenes were really funny to read.

This is the story of Jax and Nikki. It is a sweet romance that is filled with just enough drama and laughter to keep you turning the pages. It is written wonderfully and I love the characters. It also teaches you not to judge a book by its cover and that you can survive abuse. Good story.

This fast pace story was a great from the beginning to the end. The dynamic between the characters is amazing, you just dont want to out it down.
Nikki, is such a strong character, that you find yourself cheering on from the start. Her strength to get out of the abusive relationship and do what it takes start again, gave me hope.
Jax, might be the bad boy now, but will always have the heart of a geek. He thought of others more than him self seen in his real relationships.
