Renee Rose writes stories with strong Alpha mafia men who do not hold back on pursuing the women they want. They are ruthless in their acquisition of their woman and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
Vlad is a strong Russian Male who decides to seek revenge on the American Italian mafia by taking their sister, the princess of their family. He takes and marries and devours Alessia. And she gets caught up in his pursuit and begins to fall for him.
This story makes the readers fantasies come true.
This is probably my favorite in the Bad Boy Bratva series. Vlad is a mean, bad Russian who launders money for the Bratva. Despite that he has a soft side that we see with Alessia by taking care of her. Alessia is diabetic and Vlad makes sure she eats the correct foods. He tests her blood sugar and gives her insulin shots. My favorite character is Mika, the 12 year old that Vlad has “inherited”. Renee never fails to write a book that sucks me in and gets me lost in the pages. I can’t wait to see what she has in store next!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
This is a steamy read with great characters. It is full of suspense, danger and a passionate love story.
His Queen of Clubs by Renee Rose is book 6 in the His Queen of Clubs Series. This is the story of Alessia and Vladimir ‘Vlad’ . I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Vlad seeks to get revenge on the Lacone family for what they did to his mafia cell back home. This leads Vlad to take Alessia the youngest and only daughter of the family. Vlad thinks to have them pay for for her but also to marry her. What he doesn’t count on is his feelings that start to grow for the kind sweet young women. Alessia knows that her life will be set by her family when they find it time to marry her off. Alessia also keeps secrets of her health from her family because of their protectiveness of her. But with Vlad even though at first she is his hostage she starts to feel a connection with him.
So enjoyed their story that I have got to go back and read the others…Loved it.
The books in this series just keep getting better and better! Every time I read a book in this series, I’m convinced that it’s the best one…and then I read the next one, and I’m convinced that NOW I’ve read the best one…yet. Alessia and Vlad are a wonderful couple. I loved that he starts out trying to use her, and then just loves her. But Alessia was so damn lovable, a nice person, and she was sick but still strong. I loved the build up of the romance, the transition from gruff kidnapper to so much more than love. Alessia had the same effect on Mika, and the change she makes in him is remarkable too! I’m moving on to my next favorite book in the series, but hope that you take a minute to check out this book too. Renee Rose is a genius, I don’t think I’ve ever read a bad book from her.
I enjoyed this little stay abroad very much and the combination of Italian and Russian power expressions was funny – the important thing is that in the end everyone understands each other and finds their way including HEA.
This wonderful chemistry between Vlad and Alessia with all the hotness and stubbornness – a delicious combination – read it!
We finally get baby sisters story. YES!! Everyone sees her as the Tacone mob princess, and yes, she is that, I suppose, but she is SO much more. Still waters run deep with this one. It’s the whole, “You think you know, but you have no idea” thing with this girl. Whatever you perceptions you have of her in previous books. Chuck em. They’re no good. Girl surprises everywhere. Of them all, she’s my favorite.
In this it’s like a full circle almost. The youngest paying for the sins of the oldest. Except it doesn’t quite end that way. A more perfect match I do not know. Vlad and Alessia are heaven together. The difference from this book and the others in the series, is this one doesn’t have a lot of the action in it. Granted there’s plenty between Vlad and Alessia, but it’s not as action packed as her brothers books is. Drama, angst, and a total of OMG. Oh he!! yeah. In spades. Also has its usual amount of bossy and dominant men. But, we kind of like that about these books.
Vlad, wow this guy. He’s in the Russian bratva. Hacker, bookkeeper, money launderer and all around tech guy, Vlad does it all making himself invaluable to the boss. He himself is not a good guy, and has done some bad things in his life, but when asked it’s not often he tells Alessia no. Seems two in particular. Letting her go and letting her call her brothers. Other than that, it’s debatable.
This book also brings to light the burning issue of diabetes and hidden illinessess, and everything that comes along with them. This book is everything. It had a lot of my favorite things in it. Dominate guy with a taste for kink, a strong female, who can hold her own, no matter the stakes, and a love that can’t be denied. Absolutely loved this.
Alessia is the Tacone’s baby sister, who has health problems that she doesn’t want her family to know about. Vlad is the Russia Mafia, that Junior Tacone killed six of his men in Chicago, while they were trying to have a meeting. Vlad wants the Tacone to pay for the loss of those six men, one million for each. So he kidnapped their baby sister, and takes her to Russia. Where he ends up marrying her and taking care of her. He really didn’t need to marry her, but he did as a way to tie her to him. Later, they go to Moscow to meet Victor, the boss. Afterwards, she is upset with Vlad and ends up at another hotel in Moscow, but she has Mikela with her. So he lets her be, and will go to her in the morning. But Mikela calls Vlad early morning, due to Alessia not waking up (she didn’t take her medicine). He rushes her to the hospital and calls her brothers, that she is having a transplant kidney. Tacone’s end up taken their baby sister back to America to heal. Three months later and she still has feels for him. She has been talking and tutoring to Mikela. At one of the video conferences she asked how Vlad is doing, Mikela said Vlad is not doing good; he is the one that gave her his kidney. She is worried and goes to Russia to take care of him. They end together back in Vegas.
I am so in love with this series… This time we get the sister of the Tacone Family… And what a sister she is. Of course, none of us that have read this series should really be surprised. Alessia is a strong-minded, beautiful woman that may be protected by her family but nobody should mess with her.
Vlad wants his revenge on the Tacone family. And he sees Alessia as his way in. But kidnapping her is one thing, once he gets her in his home things change rapidly. I freaking love this guy. He is so alpha and takes charge of Alessia that you have to fall in love with this guy.
Renee has written one of the best stories I have read this year!! Keep them coming!
This series is amazing! This is book six and it is fabulous! Action packed, twists, truths, lust and love. All the things that make a book fabulous. Strong characters and storyline. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Plenty of heat and steal your heart moments. A definite must read! Check it out. I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance copy of the book from the author.
So freaking good!
Vlad is a man on a mission of revenge against the Tacone’s and when he see’s the family’s greatest treasure he is determined to have it.
Alessia’s is taken, but her captor is not brutal, dominant yes, caring yes, smolderingly sexy yes. Alessia has certain needs that if not met can prove to be fatal, but Vlad and his shadow Mika will not let that happen.
There is suspense, secrets, some danger, incredible hot sex and discipline but overall this is an incredibly sweet (yes I said sweet about a mafia based story) heartwarming , story of love in many forms.
His Queen of Clubs is book sixth in the Vegas Underground series. Alessia is used to her brothers’ alpha tendencies, but she’s shocked when she’s kidnapped in response to their mafia actions. For revenge, Vlad plans to take Alessia for ransom, but as soon as he sees her, he knows she must be his. The kidnapping is not what either expect, and while she wants to hate him, she’s starting to fall for Vlad. Will Vlad’s connections to the Russian bratva reveal his true colors and tear them apart?
Oh my goodness, this book just about tore me apart and wrecked my emotions, but I loved every second reading this book! Vlad and Alessia are an amazing couple that needed to overcome a lot before they could face their true future. Vlad might honestly be my new favorite book boyfriend and I wish I had one in my life! He’s a true alpha, full of possessiveness, arrogance, dominance… but he had this huge soft side for both Alessia and Mika. I loved his protective nature of both of them, I loved the lengths he was willing to go for both of them, and the battles he was able to fight. Oh my, bad boy swoon goodness right here!! Alessia was amazing, too, because she was such a good person with a heart of gold, but she had such an inner strength! I loved the little ways she fought against Vlad, the ways she opened her heart for Mika, and the way she rolled with the punches of her circumstances. I loved them all together, almost a broken family that could help heal each other, and the passion that flared between Vlad and Alessia is scorching! I loved that this book could stand alone, but it’s so much richer knowing the previous books and couples. This series has all been amazing, but this book is definitely my favorite so far!
This book was super amazing I loved the journey these characters go on. And the chemistry is smoking hot. I couldn’t get enough of this story.
Once again… Nobody Does It Better!
When considering erotic heat, dominance and dark romance; nobody does it better than Renee Rose! With the six installment of the Vegas Underground series, “His Queen of Clubs: A Bad Boy Bratva Romance”, Ms. Rose highlights another uber hot antihero with a highly intelligent and likeable heroine. More than simply a dark erotic romance, the plot is strengthened with just enough drama, danger, suspense and in-depth characterizations to keep readers completely engaged until the very end. Professionally written, “His Queen of Clubs” is a highly engaging standalone novel featuring a steadfast, hot, dominant Russian and the strong, independent, compassionate woman he falls in love with.
In this entry, the Tacone Familia’s baby sister is captured by a high ranking Bratva member as restitution or tribute for the slaying of several Bratva subordinates. Spirited off to Russia, Alessia is forced by Vlad into marriage and held captive at his lavish estate. As the story-line progresses, secrets are revealed and the intense chemistry between the protagonists becomes explosive with both characters longing for a future that can never transpire.
If hot, confident and dominant Russian men are your thing… or even if they’re not… give “His Queen of Clubs” a try, you’ll be so glad you did! Don’t miss the entire Vegas Underground series, which I highly recommend!

*** I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review***
This was a bit of a variation in the series with a hot Russian Dom instead of the usual Italian. The story was every bit as good as the earlier books and Vlad was just as hot. I really liked Allesia’s character. Originally portrayed as the family princess, her character was slowly revealed to be so much more. I really liked the way the author handled her health issues. It wasn’t just a bit added to the story and quickly forgotten about. It was a constant through the story, but handled so that it didn’t define her character. The story itself was well written. I was drawn in from the first page and the story was paced so well that it was tough to put down. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Vlad seeks revenge, but finds love. I liked how quickly Vlad fell under Alessia’s spell. He tried valiantly to stay aloof, but who can resist the a Taccone’s charms??? These two act like oil and water, but when they spar and taunt each other it is beyond scorching. Vlad’s a protector for Alessia in spite of himself. A few twists and surprises, but it all ends with a hea for Alessia and Vlad and company. I look forward to the next book in this phenomenal series.
Vlad knows the Tacone’s owe him and he wants to take something of theirs, and when he sees them all together at the same time and the lovely Alessia, he knows he’s going to get the one they all care about.
Alessia can’t believe she’s terrified and turned on at the same time by the Russian, she knows she’s screwed. She knows her brothers will kill him, but he lets her know he’s not giving her back and they will be hard to find in Russia and she’s going to marry him. She knows one thing though he’s not the tyrant he wants her to believe he is.
Vlad decides to research all he can about her illness for some reason he is protective of her, he doesn’t trust women, but she’s beautiful and at his mercy. The more he learns about Alessia the more he wonders if she’s not the spoiled princess he thought she was.
When he watches her fall apart with his touch, he knows he wants more, not until she’s his wife, and he wants her trust so he can dominate her, but can he make her want to stay but there is so much against them and their battle against everything only gets worse.
Revenge…
Wow! Can you believe that we are already six books into this series?!? The best part is that each book is as great as the one before. This one deals with revenge….or does it? Vlad, our hero *cough* is a man with contradicting sides. One side is the tough, unfeeling man looking for revenge. Another side is the man that tries to protect someone. Then there is the side that Alessia brings out. Which is the true Vlad? The only way to find that answer is to read this book. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
I seriously LOVE this series! This family is just so great to read about. I almost feel like I’m invested in all of their happily ever afters. Every male in this series is so Alpha and yet they all have this softer side that only their family really sees.
I loved Alessia. I have to admit i have been looking forward to her story, but this blew my expectations out of the water! It was so much better then I even thought it would be. Vlad is such a great man for Alessia. He is so careful with her. And yet also exactly what she needs. Their story was also really hot and yummy. Overall this story exceeded my expectations.
I fell completely under the spell of this amazing read. This book captured my attention and had me captivated by the unfolding of Vlad and Alessia’s tale. I thought that there was simply something special about this standalone book. Could it have been the intense chemistry?, The deep emotions?, The opposites attract angle?, The revenge plot?, The Romeo and Juliet feel of the warring families?, The steamy sizzle? or The brilliantly complex, heart stealing characters? Honestly, I could never really pinpoint the exact reason. All I know is that I loved this book and enjoyed every single minute of reading it. I thought that the story was a marvelous blend of tension, drama, poignancy, sweetness, realism and romance. A delightfully memorable and moving read.
