Freelance photographer Sebastian Richards has put aside traveling the world to show his grandmother he’s capable of helping out on the family farm, even though it’s hard to let go of his wanderlust. But when he rescues a beautiful woman from a difficult situation, and Sebastian learns Isabella Romano is going to his hometown, heading back to Prickle Creek holds more appeal. Isabella has come … has come home to the Outback for a short visit to her father before she heads off to begin her dream job in England. Circumstances throw Isabella and Sebastian together at every turn–so maybe a short summer fling could be fun?
Isabella is determined to leave, even though her heart wants to stay. Sebastian is determined to stay, even though his heart wants to go. But the only way for them to be happy is to take a chance on love.
Each book in the Prickle Creek series is STANDALONE:

HER OUTBACK TEMPTATION is a standalone read with a HEA> Set in Australia Sebastian returns to his families ranch to take part in the running of the ranch that he will soon inherit along with his 3 cousins. Seb is a professional photographer that he has worked hard to get the career he now enjoys. He feels a pull from his family to join in as a rancher and give up his camera. At the airport he runs into a family friend from high school days and they strike up a friendship that quickly develops into more. This is their love story. This is a good read as well as the other three books in the series. I definitely recommend it. It is a standalone read with a HEA.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 10/22/18
His Outback Temptation by Annie Seaton
Prickle Creek #4
Four phone calls are made to cousins requesting they return to Prickle Creek. Two men and two women who have found their way into the world and have successful jobs are called back to see their grandfather in hospital. The four are faced with a huge decision presented by their grandmother. They all have ties to their ancestral land BUT are those ties strong enough to draw them from their jobs and lives and then take on the responsibilities of country life on a large tract of land? Liam, Lucy and Jemima have gone home and settle in. In this book Sebastian has decided to leave his photography career in Europe to return, grudgingly, to the family nest. He arrives two years after that first call was made and believes he is ready to farm…but is he?
Isabella Romano is on her way home to visit her father hoping to get him and her mother to reunite rather than live apart in Australia and Italy. She has six weeks to make her pitch before heading off to a sous chef job in England. At the airport she sees Sebastian and asks him for assistance then ends up catching a ride to the outback with him. The two spend time together in and out of town and both seem to enjoy living abroad more than living in the outback BUT will the two, who grow to care for one another, find a way to be together or part at the end of her visit?
This was more of a narrative of what live in a small town in the outback is like. The couple may meet in the outback but at times they seem like fish out of water that really would rather be elsewhere. There is an opportunity to catch up with the rest of the cousins and how they are doing while Sebastian and Bella determine what their futures will hold. I had trouble relating to this couple but was happy they did finally figure out what would make them happy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
3-4 Stars
3.75 stars–HIS OUTBACK TEMPTATION is the fourth and final instalment in Annie Seaton’s contemporary, adult PRICKLE CREEK clean, romance series focusing on a once tight knit family of cousins (Lucy Bellamy, Jemima Smythe, Sebastian Richards, and Liam Smythe) torn apart by the accident that caused the death of their three mothers. This is freelance photographer Sebastian Richards, and professional chef Isabella Romano’s story line. HIS OUTBACK TEMPTATION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
SOME BACKGROUND: When their aging grandparents called the cousins home to Prickle Creek, Australia, Lucy, Jemima, Sebastian and Liam wanted nothing to do with attending to the family farm; a deal was reached and each cousin would take a turn managing the farm, never intending to fall in love. The Prickle Creek series are their stories of family and falling in love.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Sebastian and Isabella) HIS OUTBACK TEMPTATION follows the building romance between freelance photographer Sebastian Richards, and professional chef Isabella Romano. Neither Isabella nor Sebastian had been home for a number of years when they would meet accidentally after deplaning together in Australia. Isabella returning from her new home in Italy, and Sebastian coming home after years on the road. Agreeing to see one another once everything was settled, Isabella would soon be pulled into the family bedlam at Prickle Farm as preparations got underway for a dual wedding. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Isabella and Sebastian, and the potential fall out as Isabella assigns an end date to her time in Australia, and her growing love for the man that has stolen her heart.
Once again, because the author lives in Australia, HER OUTBACK SURPRISE contains expressions of slang and language terminology that may not be familiar to North American readers but the author adds an index of definitions for ease of understanding.
HIS OUTBACK TEMPTATION is a story of family; of romance and love; of promises made; obligations vowed; and the bonds formed between two people whose lives were about to move in different directions. Annie Seaton pulls the reader into a sweet, enchanting and realistic story line. The character driven premise is heart warming; the romance is tender-the $ex scenes are implied and fade to black; the characters are energetic and flirty.
**I received a copy of His Outback Temptation from Net Galley in exchange for an honest and voluntary review**
His Outback Temptation by Annie Seaton is the final book in her Pickle Creek series. Even though I’m sad that the series has ended I’m sure Gran Helena isn’t done with her matchmaking in the family. However Sebastian and Isabella’s story wasn’t my favorite it’s still worth all 4 stars. I just wish that Seb & Bella had more of a connection to each other instead of dancing around the will she or won’t she part of the story.
Sebastian has finally come home to Pickle Creek and Spring Downs but he wonders if he’ll end up staying because the farm life isn’t what he loves as much as his photography. When he steps in to save Isabella from her overzealous seat mate, little does he know that she’ll be come home also. When they arrive at her father’s milk bar they both realize that their careers are very important to each other and farm life isn’t what they want to do.
Isabella Romano is coming home only for six weeks to hopefully convince her father to finally return to Italy with her mother. As a chef with her dream job waiting in England after her visit ends with her father is very surprised how much has changed in Spring Downs. With shops closed and everyone driving to the nearest town she wonders how long her father can afford to stay. After the caterer cancels on Lucy and Jemima’s wedding she’ll enjoy having something to create for them. But will Seb finally tell Bella that he has fallen in love with her but knows that his family expects him to help take over the farm will he stay or won’t he?
Read this book mainly because I love most things Australian. There was little depth to the characters, however.
Wow, here I am a city girl reading about my beautiful country. Areas I’ve only seen on TV and photos. The author brought the Outback to life, I could almost taste the dust. I really wanted these characters to get together and I’m so happy the way it ended. I thought please don’t be predictable. Sebastian has had his taste of the World in his photography career and comes home at his Grandparent’s request. Bella comes for a short visit to see her Dad and knows she has a career waiting for her in England. Could love ruin someone’s dreams or enrich it?
I highly recommend this book, I enjoyed it immensely.
