This Is The Story Of Terry And Maggie’s Struggle To Define Their Relationship. His Control Clashes With Her Pride.
His Mission is the second of three parts in The Dom’s Submission. Although it is possible to read it as a stand-alone, it would be more fully enjoyed following part one. Both parts end in a cliffhanger.
In the first part, Terry, a dom in his mid-forties, has a reputation for being brutally honest (i.e. rude) and is infamous for his control. He has become lonely, and coming home each night to his dog doesn’t fill the void. As a successful divorce attorney, he is a great catch but vows not to marry a second time. He is tiring of the club routine and is in need of a new sub. Maggie has been divorced just over one year. The mother of three youngsters and in her mid thirties, she has no friends to lean on for support and finds her life crumbling as she struggles to pay the bills. She is a complete mess.
When unsuspecting Maggie is lured to La Petite Mort Club by her ex-sister-in-law, she is completely out of her element. She runs into Terry, a member, who rescues her from being attacked that night. Her innocence and curves draw him to her, despite the fact that she isn’t at all his type. He is relentless in his pursuit, encouraged by the knowledge that she is attracted to him, too. Almost as soon as Terry succeeds in seducing her, Maggie suddenly needs to leave him. It becomes unclear whether they will write off their tryst as a fling, much to Terry’s chagrin, or if it will become something more.
The second part opens on the morning of day four, right where part one leaves off. Terry is determined to keep Maggie, but his words continually get him into trouble. Maggie’s inexperience as a sub necessitates serious discussions that often lead to misunderstandings. Additionally, the challenges imposed by Maggie’s three young children require careful coordination.
Terry and Maggie’s budding relationship experiences growing pains as they attempt to define what they are to one another. Terry desperately wants Maggie, whose pride is continually challenged by Terry’s need to fix her problems and control everything. Terry’s attempts to please Maggie ironically result in her pushing him away.
Terry and Maggie’s story brings together two very real characters, lonely in their own ways, who both need rescuing. This is the story of Terry and Maggie’s struggle to define their relationship. Terry’s crass comments and Maggie’s stubborn independence create an enticing tension, while Terry’s friends are heartily entertained by his bumbling, accusing him of being whipped. Maggie is a very sympathetic character, and Terry deserves a second chance at love after so many years alone. It is easy to root for their HEA, but part two ends in a cliffhanger!
This book is an easy read – short and sweet and sexy. It is nicely written with few errors. The POV alternates between Terry and Maggie. It is written in the third person. The plot is light but sufficiently developed. The characters are nicely defined given the length. More is learned about Maggie here, helping to make up for the paucity of details in part one. The banter between Terry and Maggie is tense, but Terry’s relationship with his friends is so much fun – they are hilarious when they stir him up! For Ellis O. Day fans, many of Terry’s friends from La Petite Mort Club make an appearance. I rate this book four stars.
This is the second book in this series. Yes, it does have a cliffhanger ending. It is well written. I still have problems with the characters but I am beginning to like them more. I do encourage everyone to get this book and give it a chance. I would have liked it better if was a complete story. Please remember that this is a BDSM story so if that isn’t your kind of story you will not like this one. I liked the story enough I have bought the third book just to see how the story ends!
In this second part of the series Maggie and Terry’s differing expectations become more obvious and start to affect their relationship. Neither one really knows how to define their relationship or to express to the other exactly what they are wanting and needing for this to work. The author continues to do a brilliant job at describing the characters and their emotions as Terry continues to introduce Maggie to more and more of his lifestyle.

Our couple got off to a good start, but there are still a few rapids left to navigate. He wants more commitment than she is ready to give.
This is book two in this particular story arc and I recommend reading them in order to understand the characters and to get the full effect of the narrative.
This is an erotic story with a focus on BDSM and D/S. Our hero is an experienced dom, our heroine a newbie. They are now trying to take things to the next level, but they have trouble letting go of the past.
The story is very well written and easy to read, with a well developed setting and strong characters. We get more character development in this story, which I really like. I love our heroine, her spirit, her need to be strong. Our hero, on the other hand, stumbles in this book. He loses patience and acts in a way that damages the fragile relationship. As a result, I actually did not like this story as much as the previous one. Hopefully he will redeem himself in book three.
Overall, I still found the story enjoyable even if I wanted to smack the hero.
Recommended.

This is such a relatable story. Maybe not to the extremes Ellis O. Day has laid out, but when you have a single mother of three, who is overweight, out of shape, working a dead end job because she gave up college in exchange for marriage and children and now she’s the one struggling trying to make ends meet while the ex gets to take them on fun adventures. That will play havoc on anyone’s self esteem and confidence. You’ve just met Maggie. Enter Terry. I’m sure each of us know someone like him, in varying degrees. You know the kind. Strong, opinionated, sometimes overbearing, always wants to be in charge and take care of things. And sometimes he lets his battleship mouth overtake his canoe brain when things get out of his control. The story is emotional, funny, heart breaking, and sexy as sin. Thank goodness I have book three waiting while I type this.
I was impressed with the characters and their dialogues, feelings they expressed. It was an emotional roller coaster.

Major trouble between these two.
This book starts off with Terry doing something that is rather hard for him and book does not end well either. This part is all about the challenges Maggie and Terry have getting to know each other. Terry pushes Maggie pulls away a very real look at how two stubborn and strong well people act with each other. Cannot wait to start the 3rd part I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
In this book Terry just keeps doing and saying the wrong thing over and over and over. He has a good heart and all his intentions are great, he just does not know how to comunicate in a way that stubborn Maggie accepts. And Maggie is very stubborn!
Great book 2
Terry and Maggie are back in this book 2 of the series. This book picks up exactly where book 1 ended. Maggie is a natural submissive but not in all things and Terry has to either get her to trust him enough to accept his help or accept that she will always need her independence in certain things. Great book 2. Can’t wait to read book 3.

Oil & water.
A slavering wolf hunting his plump ‘little rabbit’.
Terry & Maggie’s ‘arrangement’ limps along in emotional fits & starts. For every step forward, they slide back two or three due to Terry’s temper & Maggie’s continued, almost paranoid, refusal to accept his help, financial or otherwise.
As a Dom & more speciafically as Maggie’s Dom, everything in him craves & needs to help her, support her, protect her. He’s got the money, the resources & the desire to do so. But after 10 years of marriage, being faithful to one man, believing in the promises made between she & her husband, Maggie learned the hard way, she can’t trust promises, as a woman & mother she wants to be self sufficient to ensure she’s never that vulnerable again.
But Terry, who’s decided never to be emotionally vulnerable again after his divorce, is finding himself lusting almost uncontrollably after his lush, soft, warm ‘little rabbit’ Maggie. And Maggie, is finding Terry is slowly but surely unlocking the carnal sensual side of herself she didn’t realize she possessed. And she loves it.
But, then Terry gets frustrated, angry & verbally lashes out at Maggie who shuts down, goes into self protective mode & tells Terry things are over.
Again & again & again . . . .
The author does a superb job fleshing out Terry & Maggie. I wanted to SMACK both of them on the back of the head multiple times. Both are intelligent people but they are both mired in hurts & fears from their past & as soon as they leave the bedroom reality harshly intrudes.
I loved how the author worte Terry, I loved how he prowled & hunted Maggie. How her lush curvy body practically enflamed him constantly, how he was so consumed with her, focused on her, how he wanted to dominate & control his ‘little rabbit’. How protective he was, possessive of her. And yes, he was over controlling, overly dominating & domineering to a woman who had never been other than purest vanilla. And he let his frustrations flare his temper so he said things to Maggie in a harsh way that didn’t correctly impart what he actually meant.
And Maggie, innocent of darker pleasures that existed, insecure about her body, financially struggling to keep her head above water to support herself & her 3 children, afraid to become involved with a man that physically turns her on & lights her up like a Roman candle. How she wanted Terry, loved his attentions & lust for her, loved experiencing his control & dominance in the bedroom but was afraid to lose her heart & self sufficiency in the rest of her life.
GAH! I spent the whole of this portion of their story anxious & worried about their ‘arrangement’: would they be able to overcome their issues & insecurities & remain together?
And the s*x?
Man, oh man! The author has among the most SIZZLING erotic scenes I’ve read. And not just because of the physical detail. Oh NO! Terry’s dominance, power & lust fairly RADIATE off the pages & grabbed me by the throat & drew me into the story like a riptide. And I didn’t want to escape.
This is an excellently written & plotted story with superb characters the reader cares about & hopes against hope that WILL end up together. I highly recommend this one.
P.S. Some will probably think Terry is a jerk &/or *ss, but I don’t care, I looooove him!

This is a review of all 3 books in The Dom’s Submission series, His Sub, His Mission and His Submission. I read the other books of the La Petite Mort Club series, Nic’s and Patric’s stories and this one was just as brilliant as the others were. Is she his little rabbit? Maggie isn’t your tall, leggy supermodel type, in fact she is petite, lush, curvy, well into her 30s, divorced mother of 3. Enough to send any guy running. What she most certainly isn’t, is a one night fling. Yet, Terry a dominant, handsome, rich, experienced alpha male in his 40s can’t seem to stay away. Maggie is financially destitute, while Terry thinks all problems can be solved by throwing money at it. Money however can be a touchy subject in any relationship, let alone in one involving a proud, wronged woman with a lot of insecurities and responsibilities. Add to that a way too ‘ honest’ – some might very well call it opinionated, determined, brash, tactless – alpha dom and the situation between Maggie and Terry, not surprisingly time and time again comes to a volatile head. Their characters, as well as those of the supporting cast were very well developed and described by the author and I have to commend this book, like I did with the others for the excellent editorial and proof-reading achievements. The book is in no way levitating on the reals of the millions that some of the characters possess but Maggie’s circumstances bring this book to a realism that many readers can, if not identify, but at least appreciate and sympathise with. Neither of our lovers want to fall in love, but love has a way of creeping up on you whether you like it or not. Both our main characters are likeable and I was on the edge of my seat rooting for them to put aside their insecurities, take a chance and give in to the love and sense of belonging they feel for each other. We do get the HEA we the readers love. The book also gives us an example of friendship that the group has for one another and having their backs in times of need. I would most highly recommend this scorchingly steamy sexy book with a human approach.

Oh, what tangled webs we weave. Even in the name of love. Terry is so quick with his words that he is bound to leave irreparable scars if he is not careful. His rabbit is prideful and loving and is the key to mending his cracked heart. I love this series. Sweet, sensual, hot and erotic. Can’t wait for the next book.
